THE HOLY TRINITY
This is the Christian belief that God is ‘one in three persons.’
Although we mark all of our liturgical celebrations by calling to mind the Trinity by making the sign of the cross, we celebrate the Trinity in a special way on the first Sunday after Pentecost. Today’s gospel passage can be seen as a mini-gospel, a concise summary of all Jesus came to do and teach.
Christians believe in one God but experience Him as God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit
God the Father is the creator and the one that sustains life.
God the Son is God made man in Jesus Christ, sacrificed to free us from sin.
God the Holy Spirit is the guide that exists in the world today strengthening us in our call to spread God’s word throughout the world.
This is a mystery and it is almost impossible to understand fully. As Christians we accept that all things are possible for God – including being three in one!
J O H N 3 : 1 6 - 1 8 16
For God so loved the world that he
gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not
perish but have eternal life.
17For God
did not send his Son into the world to
condemn the world, but to save the
world through him.
18Whoever
believes in him is not condemned, but
whoever does not believe stands
condemned already because they have
not believed in the name of God’s one
and only Son.
The Gospel of the Lord
Read this Gospel scripture carefully.
God so loved this world………… He sent Jesus to save the world!
Let us try and remember that next time we begin to despair and

This is Rublev’s Icon
The painting is full of symbolism and is interpreted as an icon of the Holy Trinity. At the time of Rublev, the Holy Trinity was the embodiment of spiritual unity, peace, harmony, mutual love and humility. There is a gap at the front and it is there to draw us in, to make us feel a part of this scene. Trinty Sunday reminds us that we need to allow ourselves to be
‘WE KNOW GOD LOVES US TOTALLY AND
SO WE GIVE GOD OUR CONCERNS AS WE
PRAY…’
1. We pray that Christians everywhere will be able to live out their lives joyfully. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
2. We pray that all people in the world will feel your love. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer. 3. We pray for those who are feeling heavy with sadness. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer. 4. We pray for anyone we know who are nearing the end of their lives on earth and will soon meet you face to face. Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.
5. We pray for our school community, especially those who are struggling with the separation caused by lockdown. Lord in your mercy Hear our Prayer
6. Lord, thank you for hearing our prayers and knowing what is best for us. We make all our prayers through Christ our Lord. Amen.

THE APOSTLES’ CREED
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator
of Heaven and Earth And in Jesus Christ His
only Son, Our Lord Who was conceived of
the Holy Spirit Born of the Virgin Mary
Suffered under Pontius Pilate Was crucified,
died and was buried. On the third day, he rose
again He ascended into Heaven and is seated
at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty.
He will come again to judge the living and the
dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy
catholic Church, the communion of saints, the
forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the
body, and life everlasting.
Amen.
On Trinity Sunday we prayed the Apostles Creed together and we do so again today to reaffirm our beliefs.

RESPOND
Remembering that yesterday was Trinity Sunday, it is a good week to be thinking about Love, because it can be said that the Trinity is a communion of Love, to use a very fancy term. We are invited to show God’s love to each other. How can we do that? St. Paul, in one of the readings for today, gives his friends a very powerful greeting. He says, ‘The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you always.’
This is a very powerful way of showing love for others.
You are probably noticing that throughout these assemblies the same themes pop up again and again, it is not a coincidence. Jesus’ message is clear, simple and repeated throughout his ministry
Love, Forgive and show compassion for others.
How will you do that this week?
Take time to colour in the image, perhaps as you are listening to the Song of the Trinity.
