Welcome to East Cliff Practice. As a surgery we aim to provide a caring, friendly and approachable service. We are here to help with problems that you are faced with. We hope that the following information will help you understand our practice and the way that we operate our services.

Your questions answered When can I contact the surgery?

The surgery is open between 8.00am - 7.30pm Monday 8.00am - 7.00pm Tuesday to Friday and 8.00am - 10.30am Saturday mornings. We are not open on Bank Holidays.

Telephone lines are open 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. How do I make an appointment?

Appointments can be made by telephone or at the reception desk. We have a selection of pre-bookable appointments that we are able to book up to a fortnight in advance, but a proportion of our appointments are reserved and these can be booked from 8.00 am on the morning of that day.

What about telephone advice?

This service should only be used where really necessary. For most problems an appointment is preferred.

What if I can not get to the surgery?

If you feel that you need a visit at home then please contact the surgery before 10.00 am where possible. If you are able to get to the surgery, you will be seen more quickly and your treatment will be able to start sooner.

Which Doctor am I able to see?

We encourage patients to see the same doctor for their routine appointments, but you may see any other doctor in the same team, if you feel that you would like to see someone else for a specific reason.

What happens when the surgery is closed?

For emergency calls after 6.30pm and at weekends please telephone 01843 855800. You will be offered advice as to the best option to obtain care you may be connected to South East Health who provide emergency out of hours care. What disability facilities do you have for disabled

people?

Our surgery was built in 2006 and was at that time fully Disability Discrimination Act compliant. Facilities include level access to the surgery. The toilets are suitable for the disabled. We have a loop system for the hard of hearing in reception and portable units are available for use in the doctors room if needed. High back chairs with arms are available in the waiting room. How do I find out my test results?

Your doctor will ask you to contact reception to find out your test results; please can you try and call the surgery in the afternoon. These can take up to 8 weeks.

What if I move or change my name?

Please tell a member of the reception staff as soon as possible. Please note if you move out of the practice area we will not be able to continue to provide care for you.
