is a joint venture between Suwaidi Engineering and Tyco Fire &
Integrated Solutions specializing in the design, supply, installation, testing and
commissioning of fire protection equipment, security & access control, BMS, voice alarm,
structured cabling, I.T. systems and integrated systems. Tyco has been at the forefront in
the fire protection and security industry for over a century. Global technology through local
representation has been the critical success factor for the Company in the past and it
remains the mission for the future.
As well as the above mentioned systems, Tyco mechanical product range allows Tyco to
offer quality and professional services to clients throughout the Middle East for all of the

Economic growth throughout the world this century has brought new industrial technology,
increased competition and hazardous working environments. This in turn has resulted in
tighter regulations and new world-wide legislation being brought into force to protect lives,
environment and property. The objective of the Tyco group is to recommend, provide and
maintain optimal fire protection and safety & control solutions for all risks.
The operating units of Tyco are structured into divisions which serve specific market sectors
both for on and offshore systems. These range from small commercial projects and
systems through to sophisticated ‘state of the art’ fire and gas emergency shutdown
detection and control systems. All projects are managed and executed in line with the
Quality Assurance Procedures of Tyco’s ISO 9001 Quality System.
To ensure that Tyco stays at the forefront of technology Tyco’s product research and
development is ongoing at major research centers in the US and Europe, which employs
over 300 dedicated engineers. Manufacturing, technical and development resources are

SPARES, TESTING AND MAINTENANCE:
Spares stocked in our warehouse in Mussafah, along with distribution
warehouses in Jebel Ali, for all major systems supplied. Back up is also
available from extensive worldwide stocks.
Testing facilities available for products at our Mussafah workshop and Jebel
Ali refilling plant.
Maintenance of all systems/products we provide is available 24 hours a day,
365 days a year.

4. DESIGN
CAPABILITIES:

Fire & Security is an Engineering and Contracts Company who
have the capability to using client requirements and specifications as a basis,
to carry out full design and produce detailed working drawings using the most
up to date computer aided designed software.
5. CONTRACTING
CAPABILITIES:
PROJECT MANAGER:
A Project Manager is appointed who has full responsibility for all activities
from the time of order award, through installation, commissioning at site and
to the end of the guarantee period.
SUB CONTRACTORS:
Our choice and appointment of sub-contractors is subject to the client’s
agreement. In the event of a client refusing to agree to our nominated
sub-contractor we accept the decision as uncontestable. We then propose
alternative sub-contractors until such time as agreement is forthcoming.
MAJOR SUB-CONTRACTOR:
As this is dependent upon the nature of work various Sub-contractors will be
employed. Tyco have established an approved list of Major Sub-contractors,
which is available on request.
PLANNING:
Contract planning is carried out using Computer Aided Planning and Project
Management software, which enables Tyco to produce output in barchart or
Critical Path Network.
QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL:
Quality plans are developed for contracts and are used to monitor
engineering/manufacturing/procurement activities as well as ensuring
installation and commissioning procedures are adhered to.
SERVICE and MAINTENANCE
Tyco currently service and maintain onshore Oil and Gas installations
carrying out works on Fire & Gas, PAVA, Security Systems, Fixed
Extinguishing and Sprinklers. This service is currently carried out to key
clients within the U.A.E. on a 24/7 basis which include :

LOCAL WORKSHOP and STORES FACILITIES
Tyco Fire & Security UAE has its own workshop facility located in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi.
This facility spans around 2,000 sq. meter area, housing all the necessary requirements to
make it a complete unit for all needs of local support on all storage, fabrication, painting,
assembly, testing, inspection, etc. for Tyco, in the UAE.
The workshop facility is set up with the following :
1. ADMINISTRATION OFFICE
This office is a complete admin facility with five (5) telephone lines, one (1) fax line
and email facility. The office runs with direct interaction with our Head Office in Abu
Dhabi. It is the base for the company’s Construction Manager and all the service
and maintenance activities of Tyco.
The office facility houses the following personnel :

All under the supervision of a Construction Manager
The office has been provided with complete needs of sanitation, lighting, water,
parking, air-conditioning, file storage/stationery, first aid, fire fighting equipment, etc.
2. STORAGE
The storage requirements in this workshop are extensive and planned to cater to all
the needs of Tyco. This includes for the following :

Fire protection equipment stocks ready for sale.
x
Regular and critical/emergency spare parts, for all fire protection systems.
x
All archived documents of the Head Office.
x
Electrical – fire detection and alarm equipment, stocks and spares.
x
Tools and tackles for construction work.
x
Ready storage for all consumables for the operation of the workshop and
site construction.
All the materials moving in and out and the materials inventory is maintained on a
day-to-day basis in a computerized manner.
3. FABRICATION
The facility has a covered area housing the main fabrication yard. The fabrication
yard has complete equipment, tools and tackles to carry out the major fabrication
activities like cutting, grinding, drilling, welding, sand blasting, painting, etc.
This fabrication yard produces all the requirements of Tyco’s construction/installation
materials like fabricated/threaded/grooved pipework, welded pipe spools, pipe
brackets, all the required sand blasting and painting for the above, fire suppression
system cylinder skids and enclosures, etc.
4. ASSEMBLY
The workshop facility is where assembly of all fire protection equipment in skid
mounted or in enclosures as per the client’s needs, is carried out. The skids and
enclosures will be completely fit out with the cylinders, manifolds and electrical
cabling and terminations. After assembly, it will be ready for hooking up to the site
pipework.
5. QA/QC, TESTING and INSPECTION
As an ISO certified company, Tyco has its own testing and inspection requirements
laid out for all the items produced in this workshop facility. A dedicated QA/QC
Engineer ensures all the requirements of the QA/QC procedures are met with before
any material/equipment enters or leaves the facility.
A properly maintained system of documentation for all these activities is the
evidence of this compliance.
Tyco’s workshop has all the facilities for tests and inspections to be carried out on
the fire protection equipment, skids, enclosures and pipework. Pressure tests, weld
tests, load tests, etc. are carried out.
Also, Tyco will offer all these materials to third party inspection agencies and to
client’s and his representative as required.
6. MANPOWER
The workshop facility has well-experienced men of all required categories at all
times. Qualified welders, fitters, electricians, special technicians, painters and labors
are involved under the supervision of dedicated workshop supervisors and the
Construction Manager.
Tyco has all the facilities and access to increase the manning levels than the
average at any point to rise to the occasion.
