Online Medical Program Boosts Student’s Self-Esteem

Success Story

“Remote” is the way stay-at-home mom described the part of Utah she lives in. And like many people in rural areas, she struggled to find quality medical training until she discovered 100% online classes from Allied Medical School. Quickly understanding that distance education was the right fit, Chantelle enrolled in the Medical Administrative Assistant Program and began her training right from home.

Prior to taking an Allied program, Chantelle realized that local schools didn’t match her educational style.

“Teachers at junior colleges had a specific agenda and didn’t explain material and lessons well. The Allied curriculum went into details as if you’d never taken any medical courses.”

Chantelle had a young baby at home, so she needed a program that allowed her to study in her spare time. While her baby slept, she used the time to study her program information. This welcome quiet time was ideal for her and allowed her to study at her own pace.

She also found that the structure of Allied’s Medical Administrative Assistant Program helped her to succeed.

Everything she needed to accomplish was available online and the quizzes were very helpful. She liked the study guide because it had objectives for each chapter and this is what she used to prepare for the final.

These days Chantelle is taking Allied’s Medical Coding Program. She hopes to add medical coding knowledge to her medical administrative assistant education.

“I want to be competitive. I want to look for both medical coding and medical administrative assistant positions.”

And when it comes to the impact of taking medical programs at Allied, Chantelle can’t help mentioning self-esteem.

“Before the programs at Allied, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my life. Now I feel I have positively impacted my family and I feel very important.”

“It makes me feel

that I can get a job

at any time and in

an industry that is

always needed.

Overall I feel

smarter and

accomplished.”

life was going through a lot of changes. With the loss of a family member and her job of 26 years being eliminated, she found herself at a crossroads. Patricia and her husband considered moving but realized they didn’t want to move far from their family. This grandmother of three decided the best thing to do was make a fresh start with a new career. After careful consideration of her options, she found Allied Medical School to be the best choice to start her new career and life.

“The program came with detailed instructions and a check list for me to make sure that I received everything. At first I was still working and studying at night, but I liked being able to study on my own time schedule instead of the structured schedule of going to a classroom.”

Patricia called the Educational Support Department for questions about her assignments and found the staff to be very helpful and patient; they kept her on track with her educational goals. She enjoyed the convenience of learning at home which kept her close to her family.

“I have learned something about myself through this program. With the right education and training, I can do anything! Allied has provided me with the materials and the support that helped boost my self-esteem.”

The best part about taking an online program for Patricia was the flexibility, which she took advantage of when her grandchildren were sick and her oldest son needed help with them. She didn’t feel guilty about the time away from her course.

Patricia is thrilled with her medical job prospects and the fact that she has attained a new language: the medical language. She feels better about herself and helping her grandchildren, while still gaining additional income for her family. She hopes to eventually start a home-based medical business and remain close to those she holds dear: her family.

always knew the medical field was where she belonged. For 14 years she worked as a nurse’s aide, but then for a variety of reasons, she transitioned into a retail job. Over time, she felt the pull back to the medical field, and after learning about Allied’s online Medical Administrative Assistant Program, she was back on track.

Because of Debbie’s busy work life, it was important that her Medical Administrative Assistant Program was 100% online, so she could create her own study schedule.

“I needed to do the program at my own pace and continue to work full time. I tried other online schools where I had to submit assignments every week, but with a full-time job and crazy hours, I couldn’t be consistent with my schedule. With Allied, I submitted assignments when I was ready to submit them.”

During her Medical Administrative Assistant Program, she relied on Allied’s support staff to help with any surprises. Though she didn’t run into any questions about the assignments, she felt confident that Allied was only a phone call away if she needed any assistance. She really liked that the program was easy to follow and felt that she learned a lot.

Now that Debbie’s finished her Medical Administrative Assistant Program, she hopes to work toward furthering her career in a medical billing office.

“I like that I have successfully completed the program and I have received my certificate from Allied Medical School. It shows I am dedicated to my career and having taken an online program shows that I can work independently.”
