CAREER PATHWAYS
CERTIFICATE I
Entry level where you learn basic skills, usually after completing Year 10. Study for about 6 months.
CERTIFICATE II
Entry level where you problem solve and develop skills. Study for about 6 months.
CERTIFICATE III
Required to enter the workforce as a junior and usually needed to be a recognised tradesperson. Study for 6 months or more for an on campus program, or up to 3 - 4 years for an apprenticeship.
CERTIFICATE IV
Broaden your knowledge and be equipped to take on more responsibility. Study for 6 - 12 months and use this qualification as a minimum qualification to start university level programs.
DIPLOMA
Prepare for technical or management positions, or apply to enter a degree program. Study for about 12 - 18 months.
ADVANCED DIPLOMA
Develop a broad range and depth of practical, theoretical and creative skills. Study for about 2 years.
BACHELOR DEGREE
Holmesglen degrees combine theory, with practical insights through learning opportunities such as simulated work environments, industry based projects and work placements. Study for about 3 - 4 years.

FLEXIBLE CAREERS
Holmesglen offers a range of computing and information technology programs designed to build on your current skills and levels of experience. Your work experience may also be recognised as credit towards your next qualification. We offer programs in networking, programming and web and game development. In our IT programs, we provide a course pathway from certificate through to degree that provides a unique balance of theory with real world projects and industry exposure.

Our information technology programs feature current industry software and hardware, including custom Mac labs and courses taught on iPads! The Moorabbin campus is home to our Collaborative Lab. This space allows you to bring your games, apps and web designs to life.

Today computer networks and systems are
the power engines behind all industries, from
finance; to medical; to telecommunications
and retail. We rely on these systems to do

HOW MUCH WILL I PAY?
Program fees vary according to the program you are enrolling in and your eligibility for a Government Subsidised Place under the Victorian Government Training Guarantee, and whether you hold a concession card at the time of enrolment.
Details of current indicative fees are listed under each program page on the website.
Fee concessions (Certificate programs only):
Concessions may be available to you hold one of the following cards:
• Commonwealth Health Care Card (HCC) • Pensioner Concession Card
• Are a dependent spouse or dependent child of one of the above cardholders
• Veteran’s Gold Card, or
• Of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent. Important: Concession for Diploma and Advanced Diploma programs are also available to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders.
HOW DO I PAY?
Once you register in your allocated subjects the fee payable is automatically generated and shown on your account in my.holmesglen online portal. There are a number of payment methods:
• Immediate payment or part payment online through your my.holmesglen using a credit card through our Secure Payment Gateway
• In person at any Holmesglen campus Information Office • By cheque made out to Holmesglen Institute and sent
to Finance, Holmesglen, PO Box 42, Holmesglen, VIC 3148. Please include your full enrolled student name and Holmesglen Student ID on the back of the cheque • Apply for a HELP loan (Diploma and above) at any

ASSISTANCE WITH FEES Government Subsidised Place
As part of the Victorian Government Training Guarantee, students may be eligible for a Government Subsidised Place. On application each student will be asked a number of questions to establish their eligibility for a Government Subsidised Place, and documentary evidence, such as Birth Certificate or Passport will need to be sighted to complete enrolment.

HELP LOANS
A HELP Loan is an income contingent loan from the Commonwealth Government available to Australian citizens. There are a number of HELP loans available, which may allow you to study without paying fees up front. You will be required to repay your loan through your taxes when your salary reaches a certain amount. Check studyassist.gov.au for more details on;
VET-FEE HELP (Diplomas/Advanced Diplomas):
VET FEE-HELP is available to assist eligible students studying higher level vocational education and training (VET) qualifications to pay their tuition fees. Higher level VET qualifications are at the diploma level and above as well as a limited number of Certificate IV qualifications.
FEE-HELP (Degree students only):
FEE-HELP is a loan scheme that assists eligible fee paying students pay all or part of their tuition fees
HECS-HELP:
HECS-HELP is a loan scheme which assists eligible Commonwealth Supported Place students pay their tuition fees. HECS-HELP is not just a loan scheme. Under HECS-HELP, eligible students can also receive a 10% discount on the amount of their whole student contribution (for a study period) for any upfront payment of $500 or more, if they choose not to use a HECS-HELP loan.
SA HELP (Student Amenities Fee):
SA-HELP is a loan scheme that assists eligible students to pay for all or part of their student services and amenities fee
