Tarsus is an international b2b media group with a leading portfolio of

exhibitions, conferences, publishing and online media. Established in 1998

with one key brand and a turnover of £4.8 million, the Group has grown

substantially and now operates in thirteen key sectors - with over eighty

events and websites, twenty-five publications and a turnover in excess of

£60 million.

Life Media was established in 1995 by Mr. Irfan Tiras with the launch of the Turkish language trade magazine, Zuccaciye.

In 1997 the first Zuchex exhibition was held and has since grown to become not just the largest housewares and gift

show in Eurasia, but also one of Turkey’s largest trade exhibitions. Life Media employs around 30 full time staff at its

offices in the Istoc district of Istanbul, a hub for Turkey’s housewares and gifts sector.

Life Media became part of Tarsus Group in March 2012 and its portfolio consists of two annual trade events, Zuchex and

Ideal Homex and four trade magazines, Zuccaciye, Life Tech, Life Plast and the English language Housewares & Gift.

Zuchex is the largest exhibition for the housewares, home furnishings and decoration, electrical appliances and gifts sector in Turkey. Following its rapid growth over recent years, Zuchex now occupies 12 halls of Tuyap covering an area of 98k gross sqm and making it one of Turkey’s largest trade exhibitions. From 2010 to 2011, Zuchex’s total net sqm sales grew by an impressive 43% and international sqm more than doubled highlighting the increasing awareness of Zuchex as THE gateway to the potentially lucrative markets of Turkey, Eurasia, CIS, Balkans, Middle East and North Africa. This strong demand for exhibit space is set to continue as market growth is driven by increased purchasing power and home ownership, product innovation and the emergence of an organised retailing sector in Turkey and the region.

Ideal Homex was formerly known as Zuchex Spring but was re-branded in 2007 to help differentiate it from the main Zuchex event held in September. Given the ever changing tastes of end consumers, the housewares and gift sectors see constant innovations in product designs and so suppliers demand rapid access to market, hence the need for staging Ideal Homex and Zuchex in the same year. The exhibitor and visitor profiles of Ideal Homex and Zuchex are similar but each event will see new products and the latest designs on display.

Founded in 1991 by former chairman Selahattin Durak, IFO became part of the Tarsus Group in June 2011.

Based in Istanbul, IFO employs approximately 20 full time staff who organise a portfolio of established and

First held in 2005, the REW exhibition and conference takes place annually in Istanbul. Recycling and waste management are growth sectors in Turkey where pollution and waste disposal, due to rapid economic expansion and urbanisation, is an acute problem. Although a relatively young industry in Turkey, the number of potential exhibitors entering the market and professional visitors attending, continues to increase driven by rapid technological development and increased demand across both public and industrial users as tighter regulations come into force. REW more than doubled in size from 2009 – 2012.

SIGN Istanbul, the International Advertising Industry and Digital Printing Technology Fair, is an annual event for Eurasia’s sign making and visual communications sector. SIGN Istanbul which enjoys an exhibitor retention rate of over 80%, was first held in 1998 and will return for its 16th edition in 2014.

Turkey’s visual communications market is expanding as it emerges as a creative and production hub for Europe and the Middle East. ISG Eurasia – Occupational Health and Safety Fair

Turkey has one of the world’s worst records when it comes to accidents in the workplace, which in turn has prompted the introduction of new laws placing stricter regulations on employers to improve employee safety. ASANSOR Istanbul one of the top 3 lifts and elevators exhibitions in the world and the premier event in the region. Established in 1992 this biennial event will be held for the 15th time in 2017. ASANSOR has enjoyed strong growth in recent years due to rapid changes in lift technology and new global regulations for lift safety. ASANSOR is a strong brand, with over 80% exhibitor retention and a growing international presence and reputation. The 2015 edition of ASANSOR was the largest and best attended to date and the event is well positioned for continued expansion.

Flower Show Istanbul/Eurasia Plant Fair

IFM - Istanbul Fair Centre

Originally held in Yalova, the Flower Show Instanbul relocated to Istanbul in 2011 which resulted in a rapid growth in both its size and the level of international participation. The exhibition now attracts leading domestic and global suppliers including major growers and exporters from Asia, Africa and Europe e.g. Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. The market outlook remains positive given Turkey’s emergence as both a major exporter and importer (consumer) of ornamental plants and flowers. Domestic consumption is increasing in line with rising per capita income and purchasing power i.e. cut flowers and ornamental plants are no longer seen as a luxury item. Market growth is also being driven by large scale municipal, commercial and residential developments in Turkey and the region. Exports of ornamental plants from Turkey is targeted to grow tenfold by 2023.

Strategically located in Ankara, Komatek was launched in response to the need of Turkey’s construction industry for a dedicated and conveniently located construction machinery and equipment event. Working closely with both industry suppliers and users, Komatek went from strength to strength and has in recent years benefitted from the exclusive support of IMDER - The Turkish Construction Equipment Distributors and Manufacturers Union. Such has been the success of Komatek, it is now not only Eurasia’s largest trade event for construction machinery and equipment, it is one of the top 5 largest such events globally. As Turkey’s construction sector continues to grow with an estimated US$1.0 trillion to be spent on projects before the end of 2023, the outlook for Komatek is very positive.

Komatek exhibition which was first held in 1992. Since its launch, the current Chairman and joint owner Mr.

Levent Baykal and his team, have grown Komatek into not only Turkey’s largest exhibition for construction

machinery and equipment, but it now ranks in the top 5 global events for this sector. The 14th edition of

Komatek will take place in May 2015 in Ankara and is once again anticipated to set a new record for the level of

exhibitor and visitor participation. SADA became a member of the Tarsus Group in February 2014.
