Production management includes product recipe management, production and opera-tional design, production control, production data acquisition, recording of finished produc-tion, quality control data collection and re-cording, material flow tracking, material bal-ance maintenbal-ance and production reporting.

Production device management. The con-dition of production devices should be moni-tored and maintained optimally and in a pre-dictable manner. In addition to production environment control, other MES package cor-nerstones include plant maintenance and pro-duction performance tracking (OEE).

Production data management. A lifecycle management database is invaluable in pro-duction as it supports all the elements of the software application package. It ensures trace-ability, product security and reliable monitor-ing.
