Saint Mark Faith Formation
for Children and Youth
On the day of baptism, parents commit to the obligation of raising their child in the faith, an obligation which is crucial for the development of the gift of baptism. For this reason, and to assist parents in this obligation, the parish considers faith formation for our children and youth an essential aspect of our mission.
In this time of pandemic and due to the closures of schools and other activities; children and youth have been especially affected by the isolation and distancing.
For this reason we want to offer all of our children and youth the possibility of participating in our programs of faith formation. To assist in their continual growth in the faith, even if they are not currently in need to prepare for the sacraments.
However, at this time, for our children (ages 7-13) we do not think it is prudent to bring them in to meet in person. Instead, for the time being, we will begin providing online content for them to follow from home with the assistance of parents. Please reach out to our office to be included.
For our young people (ages 14-18), we will be meeting in person on Fridays beginning on:

We will observe all restrictions (social distancing, masks, disinfecting, etc). In order to provide the safest

The Sacrament of
Penance
Through the Sacrament of Penance the Lord offers us the possibility of a new beginning. Through the grace of this sacrament, God not only forgives our sins, but also heals our wounds and strengthens us to sin no more. The Church reminds us that every Catholic must go to the sacrament of confession —
▸at least once a year, ▸if in danger of death,
▸before receiving communion if one is aware of mortal sin.

THE BAPTISM OF CHRIST
▸ All the Old Covenant
prefigurations find their fulfillment in Christ Jesus. He begins his public life after having himself baptized by St. John the Baptist in the Jordan. After his resurrection Christ gives this mission to his apostles: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
▸ Our Lord voluntarily submitted himself to the baptism of St. John, intended for sinners, in order to “fulfill all
righteousness.” Jesus' gesture is a manifestation of his self-emptying. The Spirit who had hovered over the waters of the first creation descended then on the Christ as a prelude of the new creation, and the Father revealed Jesus as his “beloved Son.”
▸ In his Passover Christ opened to all men the fountain of Baptism. He had already spoken of his Passion, which he was about to suffer in Jerusalem, as a “Baptism” with which he had to be
baptized. The blood and water that flowed from the pierced side of the crucified Jesus are types of Baptism and the Eucharist, the sacraments of new life. From then on, it is possible “to be born of water and the Spirit” in order to enter the Kingdom of God.

This is what John the Baptist proclaimed: “One mightier than I is coming after me. I am not worthy to stoop and loosen the thongs of his sandals.
I have baptized you with water;
he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” It happened in those days
that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. On coming up out of the water
he saw the heavens being torn open
and the Spirit, like a dove, descending upon him. And a voice came from the heavens,

Ðây là lời Chúa phán: "Này là tôi tớ Ta mà Ta nâng đỡ, là người Ta chọn, Ta hài lòng về người. Ta ban Thần trí Ta trên người. Người sẽ xét xử chư dân. Người sẽ không lớn tiếng, không thiên vị ai; không ai nghe tiếng người ở công trường. Người không bẻ gẫy cây lau bị giập, không dập tắt tim đèn còn khói. Người trung thành đem lại lẽ công bình. Người sẽ không buồn phiền, không nao núng, chỉ lo đặt công lý trên địa cầu, vì trăm đảo mong đợi lề luật người.
Ta là Chúa, Ta đã gọi con trong công lý, đã cầm lấy tay con, đã gìn giữ con, đã đặt con thành giao ước của dân, và nên ánh sáng của chư dân, để con mở mắt cho người mù, đưa ra khỏi tù những người bị xiềng xích, đưa ra khỏi ngục những người ngồi trong tối tăm".

Khi ấy, Gioan rao giảng rằng: "Có Ðấng đến sau tôi, nhưng quyền lực hơn tôi, tôi không xứng đáng cúi xuống cởi dây giày cho Người. Phần tôi, tôi đã rửa anh em trong nước, nhưng Người, Người sẽ rửa anh em trong Thánh Thần." Và đã xảy ra là trong những ngày đó, Chúa Giêsu từ Nadarét xứ Galilêa đến và chịu phép rửa bởi Gioan ở sông Giođan. Khi vừa lên khỏi nước, Người liền thấy trời mở ra, thấy Thánh Thần như chim bồ câu ngự xuống trên mình. Và có tiếng từ trời phán: "Con là Con yêu dấu của Cha, Con đẹp lòng Cha".
Xin lưu ý: quý vị cần giấy giới thiệu làm thủ tục hôn phối, hoặc giấy chứng nhận là thành viên của giáo xứ St. Ambrose xin ghi danh vào giáo xứ trước 6 tháng. Bản Khai Gia Đình Công Giáo Giáo Xứ Thánh Ambrôsiô được để ở cuối nhà thờ. THÔNG BÁO VỀ VIỆC XỨC DẦU BỆNH NHÂN:
Trong trường hợp khẩn cấp cần Xức Dầu cho người thân ở Bệnh Viện, xin quý vị liên hệ với y tá trực, xin gặp linh mục công giáo. Văn Phòng Tổng Giáo Phận đã chỉ định cho các linh mục trực suốt ngày đêm tại các bệnh viện để ban Bí Tích Xức Dầu cho người bệnh.
Nếu cần Xức Dầu bệnh nhân tại tư gia, quý cha sẵn sàng đến kịp thời.
Trong trường hợp nguy kịch, nếu báo cho cha xứ đến sợ không đủ thời giờ ban Bí Tích cuối cùng cho người bệnh, khi tới bệnh viện xin liên hệ ngay với linh mục trực tại bệnh viện.
NHỮNG QUY ĐỊNH KHI THAM DỰ THÁNH LỄ:
Vì tình hình dịch bệnh đang gia tăng mạnh vào thời điểm này, để giữ cho nhà thờ được an toàn, vì tình bác ái, vì trách nhiệm cộng đồng xin quý vị theo những hướng dẫn phòng dịch của Tiểu Bang và TGP:
- Kiểm tra thân nhiệt trước khi bước vào thánh đường.
- Luôn đeo khẩu trang đúng cách trong nhà thờ: che kín cả mũi và miệng. - Theo sự hướng dẫn của Ban Phục Vụ ngồi vào chỗ được chỉ định, theo thứ tự từ hàng ghế trên cùng; xin không tự chọn ghế hoặc chỗ ngồi cho mình. Các thành viên trong gia đình sẽ không được ngồi sát cạnh nhau, ngoại trừ trẻ em dưới 5 tuổi.
- Nếu có những triệu chứng bệnh như cảm sốt, ho, sổ mũi….; nếu đang chờ kết quả xét nghiệm hoặc trong gia đình có người thân nhiễm covid 19, xin qúy vị ở nhà hiệp thông thánh lễ trực tuyến. - Trong trường hợp gia đình có người dương tính với covid 19, xin quý vị báo cho cha xứ biết để ngài cầu nguyện và tìm phương cách phòng ngừa.
THÔNG BÁO TỪ GIÁO XỨ VỀ VIỆC CỬ HÀNH BÍ TÍCH HÔN PHỐI:
Những anh chị em nào dự định cử hành Bí Tích Hôn Phối trong thánh đường ở Hoa Kỳ hay ở Việt Nam buộc phải gặp Cha Xứ trước 6 tháng để hoàn tất thủ tục hôn phối. Theo giáo luật, không linh mục nào có thể Ban Bí Tích Hôn Phối cho những ai chưa hoàn tất thủ tục hôn phối. Sau đây là những quy định về thủ tục Hôn Phối:
- buộc là thành viên của Giáo Xứ: đã ghi danh vào Giáo Xứ St. Ambrose ít nhất 6 tháng.
- có giấy chứng nhận Rửa tội và Thêm Sức.
- có giấy chứng nhận đã học Lớp Dự Bị Hôn Nhân
- có công hàm độc thân từ Tòa Đô Chánh.
- nếu đã có tiền hôn thú, buộc phải nộp giấy Hôn Thú và giấy Ly Dị.

EN LA FE
Formación en la Fe para Niños y Jóvenes
En el día del bautismo, los padres del niño se comprometen a educar a su hijo en la fe, una obligación que es crucial para el desarrollo del don de bautismo. Por este motivo, y para ayudar a los padres en esta
obligación, la formación en la fe de nuestros niños y jóvenes es un elemento fundamental de nuestra misión como comunidad parroquial. De manera especial en este tiempo de pandemia, por el cierre de escuelas y actividades, los niños y jóvenes han sido de los que más han sufrido el aislamiento y distanciamiento. Por eso queremos ofrecer a todos nuestros niños y jóvenes la
posibilidad de participar en nuestros programas de formación en la fe, principalmente para ayudarlos a continuar su crecimiento en la fe, aunque no estén necesitados de prepararse para recibir los sacramentos en este momento.
Lamentablemente, en este momento, no pensamos que sea prudente encontrarnos en personas con los niños (de 7 a 13 años). Pero para hacer algo para ellos, comenzaremos a proveerles contenido por internet que puedan hacer desde casa con la ayuda de sus padres. Si desea ser parte de esto y no se ha registrado,
comuniquese con la oficina.
Para los jóvenes (de 14 a 18 años) comenzaremos a reunirnos en persona los Viernes, comenzando:

Intenciones de la
Misa
La Iglesia Católica siempre le ha enseñado a los fieles a ofrecer el sacrificio de la Eucaristía por el bien de los más necesitados, y de manera especial por las almas de los fieles difuntos. La sugerencia general para la ofrenda por una intención en la misa es de $10, aunque puede ser más o menos.
Se puede ofrecer la intención de la misa por el alma de un difunto en las siguientes ocasiones:
▸ Al recibir la noticia del
fallecimiento;
▸ al pasar un mes del fallecimiento; ▸ en el aniversario anual del
fallecimiento.
Por favor comuníquese con la oficina por lo menos dos días antes de la misa que quiera ofrecer.

En este tiempo de pandemia en que las reuniones en la iglesia están muy limitadas, el Grupo de Oración de San Marcos se está reuniendo virtualmente. Si desea participar en el grupo de Oración, comuniquese con Amarilis para recibir más instrucciones.
El Sacramento del
Matrimonio
Si está viviendo con su pareja pero no se ha casado por la Iglesia y no ha recibido el sacramento del Matrimo- nio, comuníquese con el Padre para empezar el proceso. En la mayoría de los casos, es mucho más fácil de lo que pensamos. El Señor tiene muchas gracias preparadas para su familia a través de este sacramento.

EL BAUTISMO DE CRISTO
▸ Todas las prefiguraciones de la Antigua Alianza culminan en Cristo Jesús. Comienza su vida pública después de hacerse bautizar por san Juan el Bautista en el Jordán y, después de su Resurrección, confiere esta misión a sus Apóstoles: "Id, pues, y haced discípulos a todas las gentes bautizándolas en el nombre del Padre y del Hijo y del Espíritu Santo, y enseñándoles a guardar todo lo que yo os he mandado."
▸ Nuestro Señor se sometió voluntariamente al Bautismo de san Juan, destinado a los pecadores, para "cumplir toda justicia." Este gesto de Jesús es una manifestación de su "anonadamiento." El Espíritu que se cernía sobre las aguas de la primera creación desciende entonces sobre Cristo, como preludio de la nueva creación, y el Padre manifiesta a Jesús como su "Hijo amado."
▸ En su Pascua, Cristo abrió a todos los hombres las fuentes del
Bautismo. En efecto, había hablado ya de su pasión que iba a sufrir en Jerusalén como de un "Bautismo" con que debía ser bautizado. La sangre y el agua que brotaron del costado traspasado de Jesús crucificado son figuras del Bautismo y de la Eucaristía, sacramentos de la vida nueva: desde entonces, es posible "nacer del agua y del Espíritu" para entrar en el Reino de Dios.

bautizado, de dónde viene el
Bautismo: de la cruz de Cristo,
de la muerte de Cristo. Ahí está
todo el misterio: Él padeció por
ti. En él eres rescatado, en él
eres salvado.

En aquel tiempo, Juan predicaba diciendo:
“Ya viene detrás de mí uno que es más poderoso que yo, uno ante quien no merezco ni siquiera
inclinarme para desatarle la correa de sus sandalias. Yo los he bautizado a ustedes con agua,
pero él los bautizará con el Espíritu Santo”.
Por esos días, vino Jesús desde Nazaret de Galilea y fue bautizado por Juan en el Jordán.
Al salir Jesús del agua,
vio que los cielos se rasgaban
y que el Espíritu, en figura de paloma, descendía sobre él.
Se oyó entonces una voz del cielo que decía: “Tú eres mi Hijo amado;
yo tengo en ti mis complacencias”.

ORACIÓN DE LA MISA DEL BAUTISMO DEL SEÑOR
Dios todopoderoso y eterno,
que en el bautismo de Cristo, en el Jordán, quisiste revelar solemnemente
que él era tu Hijo amado enviándole el Espíritu Santo, concede a tus hijos de adopción, renacidos del agua y del Espíritu Santo, perseverar siempre en tu benevolencia.
