COMPANY OVERVIEW

Work Systems Affiliates International, Inc. (Work Systems) is a leading world-wide provider of management consulting servicesand training to both public and private sectors.

Today more than ever, government agencies are tasked with improving services, being more responsive, increasing access and ease of use, adhering to a changing set of legislative

requirements and keeping costs down. Work Systems has a long and successful history of helping government agencies respond to the drive to transform.

Work Systems works with government decision-makers on their most important strategic organizational, operational and human resource challenges. There are six areas where we have extensive insight that we bring to bear on behalf of our government clients:

• Leadership Development, Executive Assessment & Coaching • Organizational Change

• Strategy Planning & Implementation • Process & Productivity Improvement

• Organizational Assessment (Work Systems Affiliates’ Organizational Snapshot©) • Hands-On Training & Development Programs

See Services Overview section for more details on each of these areas. See GSA Awarded Training & Development Rates and GSA Awarded Labor Categories and Hourly Rates for pricing information.

Work Systems is a designated Small Business that consistently delivers results to rival those achieved by firms many times our size both in resources and reputation.

The key to our success, which is evidenced by an outstanding level of customer satisfaction and a 90% repeat/referral business, is the depth and breadth of each Work Systems Consultant’s experience. Work Systems Consultants have a minimum of 15 years experience solving complex organizational issues. They also have at least 5 years experience in a senior management role. We simply do not use junior level staff or career consultants who have no direct experience managing organizations. The result – you will work with people who typically have first-hand knowledge of the challenges you are facing and can help craft solutions that don’t just look good on paper but that actually remove barriers to your organization’s success.

SERVICES OVERVIEW

SIN 874-1: CONSULTING SERVICES

While our government clients each have a unique set of challe nges, most are looking for ways to organize themselves to achieve mission success. Work Systems helps government agencies ensure that their structures, processes and culture align optimally with their goals, statutory purpose and stakeholder expectations. The majority of work with the government focuses on the following areas.

Leadership Development, Executive Assessment & Coaching

The success of your organization lies in the hands of your executives. We work with senior level executives to increase their effectiveness and productivity in today’s environment and ensure they are prepared for the challenges of tomorrow. Our work in this area includes customized

development programs, individual and team assessments, and one-on-one and group coaching.

Organizational Change

Nearly every organization we partner with is managing organizational change. Sometimes the initiative involves dramatic change, a fundamental shift in the way an organization does business. In other cases the change is evolutionary rather than revolutionary. The process is more subtle and, ironically, often more difficult to manage.

Work Systems helps government agencies understand where they are, where they need to go and how to close the gap that exists between the two. Our approach to change encourages government decision makers and implementers to work together to define the way forward. The result - a reduction in the time required to develop a strategic plan, a faster path to implementation, participants become crusaders for change, higher agency- wide acceptance and lasting positive change.

Strategy Planning & Implementation

The day-to-day tactical management of a business often relegates strategic planning to a once-a-year event. We help agencies develop a systemic approach to strategic planning and

implementation that creates a strategic organization not just a strategic plan.

Process & Productivity Improvement

Process & Productivity Improvement may not be one of today’s management buzz phrases but done well it can have a dramatic impact on reducing operating costs and increasing efficiency. Work Systems takes a non-linear, systemic approach to improving processes and productivity. This allows us to quickly identify the interrelatedness of an organization’s processes and to create solutions that streamline operations, increase productivity, enhance services and decrease costs.

Organizational Assessment

The success of any change or improvement initiative starts with accurately assessing the current state of the enterprise. Work Systems’s organizational assessment process provides data that helps organizations make informed operational changes in support of achieving their mission.

(9)

To this end Work Systems has developed TheOrganizational Snapshot, a brief, typically one-day, organizational assessment which delivers a concise picture of the strengths and key systemic constraints of the organization. It is an ideal way to either validate what you suspect is holding your organization back or to unearth obstacles that are difficult to identify without an impartial outside perspective. At the end of the day, not only do you have an accurate picture of the problem but we also deliver concrete, actionable recommendations on how to bring your organization to the next level.

SIN 874-2: FACILITATION SERVICES

Facilitation and decision support services are an integral part of management consulting and organizational change services we provide to our government clients. We facilitate executive teams, leadership teams and management teams.

Goals

The goal of the facilitation process is to smooth the way, lower resistance and help move projects/teams/initiatives forward. Work Systems consultants have succeeded in doing just that in a wide range of challenging situations. From facilitating community meetings on Superfund clean up projects to providing decision support services to executives planning large-scale organizational change, Work Systems Consultants have added tremendous value.

Benefits

Effective facilitation offers wealth of benefits to individuals, teams and agencies. Done well it can:

• Provide un-biased perspective that encourages innovation and creativity • Reduce front-end planning and analysis time

• Move initiatives from the planning phase to implementation faster • Increase acceptance of innovations throughout the organization • Enhance the staying power and impact of change

SIN 874-4. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Work Systems has been designing and delivering high impact training around the world for over 20 years. We have the expertise to develop custom curriculum based on your organizations specific needs. Or you can choose from one of our existing training courses. These include:

• Systems Thinking • Coaching & Mentoring • Project Management • Diversity
