Wie de camping oprijdt, begrijpt waarom de naam "Waterhout" is gekozen. Bos en water vind je volop rond de camping. Zo kun je op safari in de Oostvaarders en Lepelaarsplassen. Heerlijk fietsen of wandelen in het Vroege Vogelbos, Kromslootpark of langs het Gooi en Markermeer, deze liggen op een steenworp afstand van onze camping. Je fiets langs het meer naar Naarden Vesting, Laren, Huizen, Lelystad of Muiden. Ontdek ook de stad Almere met veel aparte gebouwen, bijzondere architectuur en de vele winkels. Ga je liever naar Amsterdam, Amersfoort of Utrecht, geen probleem de bus stopt vlakbij de camping. On the Southern bank of the recreation area the Weerwater, hidden between beautiful scenery and the forests of Almere, you will find the Waterhout camp site. On entering the camp site, one understands the choice of name Waterhout. In Dutch "Waterhout" means water wood and these two elements predominate in the area surrounding the camping, where you can find several forests and lakes including the Oostvaardersplassen. In and around Almere there is an extensive nature reserve with attractive roller blade facilities, bicycle and foot paths. Driving away from the camp site into the Province of Flevoland you pass varied scenery.

Your plot is large and you have 100 square meters at your disposal with maximum privacy. The plots are divided into 8 categories: Shelterplot This plot is for persons who come by foot or with a bicicle and who sleep in a shelter/tent. Plotnumbers will be pointed out. Touristplot Like a Shelterplot, for persons with a (large)tent or with a caravan without electricity. Car on the plot. Plotnumbers 127 til 205.
