What is a Firewall?

One computer dedicated to family/business work and the other computer for your child
Have your child be responsible for keeping the computer up to date, secure, and backed up!
Add kid friendly features, utilities, and security controls (e.g., Google for Kids)

Most modern computers have cameras and video capability that are not appropriate for use in all locations of the house. This applies to tablets and laptops too!
Approach is less invasive to child’s privacy and boundaries— and fosters sharing

Empower child with responsibilities that safeguard computer from viruses and malware
Have child sign contract

Time based security controls allow you to control when computer/device/phone can be used

Parents may respect kids privacy...but predator will not! Generally most effective for younger children—prevents
them from accidently accessing harmful content.
