Nupi’s innovative All-Pro pre-insulated piping
systems manufactured with the PP-RCT high temperature resin solve many of the problems that have long existed with traditional steel pre-insulated pipe systems. The materials are not only highly inert to the interior heating fluids, but they are also completely resistant to soil corrosion. Further, due to the nature of the highly crystalline thermoplastic material, the properties of the material allow it to be directly buried in compacted soil without having to also add expensive expansion joints and concrete thrust blocks. Unlike steel, the material loses the ability to push its way through soil as it gains temperature. Though it remains robust interms of resisting internal pressure, it does not maintain sufficient strength to overcome soil friction and thus it maintains its position in the soil in a fully restrained manner.

The NIRON system has been installed for the

Louis, Missouri. Eden Theological Seminary is a graduate
school preparing women and men for ordained Christian ministry. Eden offers a variety of accredited degree and non-degree programs suited to the Christian community. Eden Theological Seminary was established in the summer of 1850 in Marthasville, Missouri, to fit the needs of frontier churches. These Evangelical congregations required better-educated pastors, who were less focused on
European traditions and more suited to North American religious life. A Methodist and Mennonite joined six Evangelicals to form the very first graduating class of Eden. To fit the growing urbanization of the country, Eden moved to the outskirts of St. Louis in 1883. The Seminary’s first African American student enrolled in 1933, and the next year Eden merged with Central Theological Seminary and Oakwood Institute of Cincinnati, Ohio, which lead to the formation of the United Church of Christ in 1957. NIRON pipes and fittings were successfully installed
in Apollo High School in Saint Cloud, Minnesota hosting around 2,000 students. NIRON PP-RCT CLIMA pipes and fittings diameter 2", 3" and 5" were used for the new new air-conditioning system to replace the old steel piping that showed some leakage. The NIRON system is always a viable alternative to steel pipes due to its inertia to any corrosion caused by water and its special chemical
composition. NIRON pipes and fittings were chosen for this installation. PP-RCT is a new generation material that represents the evolution of the well-known and consolidated PP-R and a valid alternative when it starts showing some limitation, such as in case of high pressures, especially at high temperatures. Its temperature/pressure performance allows for the use of thinner pipes thus offering a greater flow rate with the same diameter. The advantage of polypropylene pipes lies in the lightness of the pipe which has certainly facilitated the replacement operations. The combined use of butt fusion, socket fusion and electrofusion welding allowed to exploit the system properties to the fullest and to run the works quickly and safely. Typically NIRON does not require visits for testing, but because it is installed in a school, additional checks were requested by the school board. J&K Sales Associates - Nupi Americas reps - visited a jobsite in Andover, MA where PP-RCT NIRON is being installed to witness and check its state. The
installation is in Phillips Academy Andover, a co-educational preparatory high school for boarding and day students in grades 9 to 12 located in Andover, Massachusetts, 25 miles north of Boston. Phillips Academy has 1,122 students and is a selective school, accepting 13% of applicants. Typically, PP-RCT NIRON does not require field visits for testing, but because it is installed in a school, additional checks were requested by the school board. The project is the new 90K SQ FT Athletic Building and the lines are being buried in the ground to hook the Ice Hockey Rink to the new building. There are chilled water and heating lines going in the ground. Phillips Academy requested that a representative for NIRON be present to witness the test results from the air tests. The visit was successful so any safety concern for the schoolkids was eliminated.
