OUR MISSION IS YOU.

(2)

Our Mission

Like those who serve our nation, AFI is dedicated to delivering protection and peace of mind.

Our unwavering commitment to personal service is your

everyday assurance of competitive rates, easy access to critical information and rapid response to your individual needs.

Our History

Since 1887, Armed Forces Insurance (AFI) has existed with a single, unwavering purpose: To protect the people who protect our nation. AFI was created and continues to be led by former military leaders. We understand and reflect your commitment to duty, honor, and integrity and we recognize the special needs of Department of Defense employees — both military and civilian. Armed Forces Insurance is a “reciprocal exchange,” a type of cooperative insurer in which the policyholders bear a relationship to each other. In other words, AFI is owned by the policyholders.

AFI Automobile Insurance Policy

AFI has been a specialist in property and casualty insurance for the nation’s uniformed leaders for more than a century and offers auto insurance in a number of states.

This brochure offers a quick summary of AFI’s comprehensive auto insurance. For an accurate quote, it may be necessary to discuss specific details with an AFI service representative. Contact us at 800.637.5728 or email us at auto@afi.org.

AFI’s auto insurance can cover the following:

• Liability Protection: Bodily injury or property damage you cause to others with your vehicles if you are found responsible for an accident. • Comprehensive and Collision Protection: The expense of repairing

or replacing your damaged property. This damage can be the result of a collision (the upset of your vehicle or its impact with another vehicle or object) or other damages or losses.

Coverage created with the

unique needs of Military and

DoD personnel in mind.

Property Damage Liability Protection

Personal Injury Protection

Air Bag and Seat Belt Endorsement

Provides a death benefit or excess medical benefit of $10,000 if a covered person is injured or killed in an auto accident while wearing a seat belt or in a vehicle with an air bag. No additional premium. Available in some states.

Uninsured and Under Insured Motorist Coverage

Compensation subject to policy limits you select, for bodily injury arising out of an auto accident when the legally liable driver has no insurance or too little insurance as defined in the policy.

Policy limits determine the amount of protection you have in the event of a liability claim. In addition to our policy, we offer qualifying members a separate umbrella policy to provide extra liability protection.

Important Information:

Keeping Information Current:

AFI auto policies can be tailored to cover all eligible vehicles owned by you and used by you and your relatives living at your address. Current data is important at all times because changes can affect the appropriateness of your coverage and premiums. To keep your information up to date, we ask that you advise us when a household member becomes a newly licensed driver, has a change in marital status or when a person moves into or out of your current address. This is especially important when a non-driving family member becomes a driver.

Options Vary by State:

Automobile insurance is regulated by laws enacted by each state. AFI makes certain you receive the coverage and the appropriate documents you need for where you live. You will be advised of the available options in your state when you purchase a policy.

Deductibles:

The deductible is the amount you agree to have subtracted from a covered loss. The higher the deductible, the lower the premium for your policy. Some coverage’s are subject to a deductible, while others are not. It is necessary to carefully read your policy to determine when a deductible applies.
