Appendix A1- Technical Specifications

1. INTENDED USE

1.1. THE REACHSTACKERS (R.S) WILL BE USED AT ISR's sites THE R.S WILL BE USED FOR HANDLING OF 20' - 40' ISO CONTAINERS IN CONFINED AREAS WITH LIMITED OPERATING AND NARROW MANEUVERING SPACE. THE R.S WILL OPERATE IN HARD OPERATION

CONDITIONS AND DUSTY ENVIRONMENT.

AMBIENT TEMPERATURE CAN REACH THE 45° C. RELATIVE HUMIDITY 20% TO 95%.

1.2. THE R.S SYSTEMS, ENGINE, TRANSMISSION, TORQUE CONVERTER, DRIVE AXLE WITH THE PLANETARY GEAR MUST BE CAPABLE TO WITHSTAND THE SEVERE

WORKING CONDITIONS EXISTING IN ISR's sites.

1.3. ALL SYSTEMS SHALL BE CAPABLE TO WITHSTAND THE CHANGING OF TRAVELING DIRECTION WITHOUT

BRINGING THE R.S TO A FULL STOP.

1.4. THE R.S SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH THE FOLLOWING ATTACHMENT :

► AUTOMATIC TELESCOPIC 20' - 40' SPREADER FOR ISO CONTAINER (SEE PARA. 2.6)

► INTEGRAL SIDE SHIFTER (SEE PARA. 2.6.4).

► INTEGRAL SPREADER ROTATION (-95 / +185 DEGREES) (SEE PARA. 2.6.5).

► SPREADER SIDE SLOPING (SEE PARA 2.6.6)

► HYDRAULIC DAMPING SYSTEM (SEE PARA 2.6.7) R.S STABILITY, STRUCTURE AND SAFETY SHALL BE ACCORDING TO DIN 15O19 DIN 15O18, EN 1459, ISO 1074,

THE R.S SHALL BE ABLE TO SERVE TWO (2) RAIL TRACKS FROM ONE SIDE, WITH 20' - 40' FULLY LOADED CAPACITY CONTAINER AS FOLLOW :

2.4. DIMENSIONS

THE R.S WILL BE USED FOR HANDLING OF 20' - 40' ISO CONTAINER IN CONFINED AREAS WITH LIMITED OPERATING, AND MANUVERING SPACE.

THEREFORE, COMPACT DIMENSIONS, MIN. LENGTH, MANEUVERABLILITY AND MIN TURNING RADIUS ARE REQUIRED.

2.5. LIFTING HEIGHT AND BOOM CONSTRUCTION:

2.5.1. TWO STAGE TELESCOPIC BOOM FREE VIEW CONSTRUCTION WITH ONE (1) EXTENSION CYLINDER AND WITH TWO (2) LIFT

CYLINDERS MOUNTED ON THE SIDE OF THE RS CONECTED TO THE BOOM TO BE

DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM LIFTING (45,000 Kg IN 1ST ROW) AND MAXIMUM VISIBILITY. LIFT HEIGHT SHOULD ENABLE TO STACK

FIVE (5) 9'6" HIGH 40' ISO CONTAINER USING THE TELESCOPIC SPREADER.

TOP MOUNTING SPREADER SHOULD BE PROVIDED.

2.5.2. BOOM

TELESCOPIC BOOM WILL BE CONSTRUCTED OF HIGH TENSILE STEEL AND TO BE EXTRA HEAVY DUTY TYPE. THE NUMBER OF WELDS WILL BE A MINIMUM AS POSSIBLE TO

ENSURE THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE TENSILE STRENGTH.

THE TELESCOPIC BOOM WILL CONSIST OF THE FOLLOWING:

► OUTER (FIXED) BOOM. ► INNER (EXTENSION) BOOM

► TELESCOPIC (EXTENSION) CYLINDER EXTRACTABLE (DISMOUNTING) TELESCOPIC (EXTENSION) CYLINDER WITHOUT BOOM DISMOUNTING TO BE PREFERRED.

2.6. AUTOMATIC TELESCOPIC SPREADER SYSTEM

A TELESCOPIC AUTOMATIC SPREADER SYSTEM FOR 20' & 40' ISO CONTAINERS SHALL BE PROVIDED :

2.6.1. STRUCTURE

THE SPREADER SHOULD BE BUILT UP TO 45 METRIC TON, HEAVY DUTY AND RUGGED TO SUSTAIN THE HEAVY PUNISHMENT OF ROUGH HANDLING. THE LOAD CENTER OF GRAVITY MAY BE ECCENTRIC TO THE CENTER OF THE 40' CONTAINER UP TO ONE METER. THE BOTTOM OF THE SPREADER SHALL BE REINFORCED AND PROTECTED AGAINST OPERATIONAL DAMAGE.

TWIST LOCK TO BE OF THE NON FLOATING TYPE.

2.6.2. COMPONENTS LOCATION

THE SPREADER SHOULD BE BUILT IN SUCH A WAY, THAT ALL HYDRAULIC AND

ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS SHALL BE HIDDEN IN ITS BODY, TO MINIMIZE OPERATIONAL DAMAGES, BUT IN SUCH WAY, THAT

MAINTENANCE AND ACCESSIBILITY CAN BE DONE EASILY.

EMPHASIS MUST BE GIVEN TO MAITENENANCE ASPECTS IN GENERAL, AND MAINLY TO THE DISMANTLING OF THE TWIST LOCKS, LIMIT SWITCHES AND HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS. SOLUTION SHOULD BE PROVIDED FOR

RELEASING OR DISMANTLING OF THE TWIST LOCKS WHEN THEY STUCK IN THE

CONTAINER.

2.6.3. SAFETY FEATURES

THE SPREADER AND THE CONTROL PANEL SHALL HAVE ALL NECESSARY SAFETY FEATURES AND INTERLOCKS TO ASSURE SAFE CONTAINER HANDLING, AS FOLLOW:

► SAFE OPERATION OF TWIST LOCKS (T.L.) TO LOCK OR UNLOCK

CONTAINER.

► THREE INDICATOR LIGHTS FOR TWIST LOCK POSITION:

SEATED, UNLOCKED, LOCKED.

► NO ENGAGEMENT SHALL BE ALLOWED BEFORE ALL 4 T.L. ARE

SEATED IN THE CONTAINER CORNER FITTING. ► NO DISENGAGEMENT SHALL BE ALLOWED WHEN THE CONTAINER IS

SUSPENDED.

► NO LIFTING SHALL BE ALLOWED WHEN THE TWIST LOCKS ARE NOT

FULLY LOCKED OR UNLOCKED (INTERRUPT OF LIFT CIRCUIT).

► FLAGS ON EACH REAR SPREADER BEAM TO INDICATE TWIST LOCK

POSITION SHALL BE PROVIDED.

► AT LEAST DOUBLE ELECTRIC SAFETY SENSOR AND SINGLE

HYDRAULIC CYLINDER FOR TWO TWIST LOCKS - EACH SPREADER

SIDE.

2.6.4. SIDE SHIFT

AN INTEGRAL SIDE SHIFT SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVEIDED ON THE SPREADER WITH A RANGE OF AT LEAST +/-800 mm. THE SIDE SHIFT

CYLINDER SHALL BE MOUNTED IN A PROTECTED LOCATION, TO PROTECT THE CYLINDERS AGAINST OPERATION DAMAGE.

2.6.5. SPREADER ROTATION

A SPREADER ROTATION UNIT SHALL BE

PROVIDED THAT WILL ENABLE THE ROTATION OF THE FULLY EXTENDED SPREADER TO - 95 / +185 DEGREES FROM ITS NORMAL POSITION. TRAVELLING MUST BE POSSIBLE WITH FULLY LOADED 20' CONTAINERS WHEN THE

CONTAINER AXIS IS PERPENDICULAR TO THE TRAVELLING AXIS AND WITH 30,000 Kg, 20' CONTAINER LOAD WHEN THE CONTAINER AXIS IS PARALLEL TO THE TRAVELLING AXIS.

2.6.6. SPREADER SIDE SLOPING– TILTING SYSTEM A SPREADER FREE TILTING SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVIDED THAT WILL ENABLE THE SIDE SLOPING OF THE FULLY EXTENDED SPREADER AT LEAST TO +3 / - 3 DEGREES FROM ITS

NORMAL POSITION

THE SUPPLIER SHALL BE PROPOSE HYDRAULIC CONTROL TILTING SYSTEM AS AN OPTION (TO BE PRICED SEPARATELY).

2.6.7. SPREADER DAMPING

SPREADER DAMPING SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVIDED

(AT LEAST, TWO CYLINDER SHOULD BE INSTALLED).

THE SUPPLIER SHALL BE PROPOSE HYDRAULIC CONTROL DAMPING SYSTEM AS AN OPTION (TO BE PRICED SEPARATELY).

2.7. STABILIZER SYSTEM

A STABILLIZER SYSTEM IS NOT A MUST SYSTEM. IF THE CONTAINER STACKING AND THE RAIL TRACKS

OPERATION, AS DEFINDED IN THIS SPEC., CAN BE DONE WITHOUT USING THE STABILIZER SYSTEM, THAN, THE REACHSTACKER CAN BE PROVIDED WITH NO

STABILIZER SYSTEM.

2.8. A STABILIZER SYSTEM FOR INCREASING THE LOAD UP TO 24,000 Kg ON THE

3RD ROW (DISTANCE AT LEAST 6,400 mm.) AND UP TO

37,000 ON 2ND ROW

( DISTANCE AT LEAST 3,850 mm.) CAN BE PROVIDED. IN THIS CASE THE SYSTEM SHALL BE EXTRA HEAVY DUTY TYPE AND RUGGED TO SUSTAIN THE HEAVY

PUNISHMENT OF ROUGH HANDLING.

THE STABILIZERS WILL BE ARTICULATED TYPE.

3. REACHSTACKER SAFETY FEATURES

3.1. OVERLOAD

TO PREVENT DAMAGE CAUSED BY OVERLOADING, THE R.S SHALL BE EQUIPPED WITH AN OVERLOAD

PREVENTION AND INDICATION SYSTEM.

THE SYSTEM SHALL AUTOMATICALLY INTERRUPT LIFTING AND / OR EXTENSION OF THE BOOM MOTION IN CASE AN OVERLOAD CONDITION TO BE REACHED. THE SYSTEM SHALL ENABLE, IF SUCH A CONDITION TO BE REACHED TO RETRACT THE BOOM TO ELIMINATE THE OVERLOAD CONDITION.

AT LEAST THE FOLLOWING LIGHT & ALARM INDICATORS SHALL BE PROVIDED:

► OUT REACH OVERLOAD ► WEIGHT OVERLOAD

A LOAD INDICATOR SHALL BE PROVIDED THAT WILL SHOW THE OPERATOR THE ALLOWED SAFE LOAD AND ACTUAL LOAD AT THE CURRENT BOOM LIFT OR BOOM POSITION.

3.2. STABILIZER HYDRAULIC SYSTEM( IF STABILIZER SYSTEM PROVIDED)

►THE STABILIZER SYSTEM WILL ALLOWED TO ACTIVATE WHILE THE R.S IN

STANDING AND STEADY POSITION.

► NO TRAVELLING (FORWARD OR REVERS) SHALL BE ALLOWED WHEN THE

STABILIZERS ARE DOWN OR NOT FULLY LOCKED UP. ► SIMULTANEOUS STABILIZER OPERATION AND BOOM EXTENSION / RETRACTION SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE. ► SIMULTANEOUS STABILIZERS OPERATION AND TRAVELLING

SHALL BE IMPOSSIBLE .

► THE STABILIZERS WILL BE ARTICULATED TYPE FOR EASE OPERATIONS AND

FULL GRAUND CONTACT IN ORDER TO PREVENT ANY DAMAGE TO THE

DOCK.

► HYDRAULIC SYNCHRONIZATION BETWEEN THE STABILIZERS

(LEFT & RIGHT) SHALL BE PROVIDED.

► LIFTING AND LOWERING TIME WILL BE LESS THAN 10 sec. ► BLOCKING VALVE WILL BE PROVIDED TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL

STABILIZERS LIFTING IN THE EVENT OF HYDRAULIC CIRCUIT FAILURE.

► THE PARAMETERS OF THE OVERLOAD SYSTEM SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY

ADAPTED ACCORDINGLY TO THE STABILIZERS STATUS (STABILIZERS UP OR

DOWN).

► THE SYSTEM (SAFE DEVICE) SHOULD BE PREVENT THE STABILIZERS

HOISTING UP WHEN THE LOAD WILL BE MORE THAN MAXIMUM ALLOWED.

ONLY RETRACT AND LIFTING MOVEMENTS ALLOWED.

3.3. SIMULTANEOUS TRAVELLING, LIFTING, BOOM

EXTENSION / RETRACTION AND SPREADER ROTATION WILL POSSIBLE.

3.4. SYNCHRONIZATION BETWEEN LIFT/ LOWER, OUT / IN AND SPREADER ROATATION MOTIONS SHALL BE PROVIDED TO PREVENT THE SPREADER ROTATION (RETRACTED EXTENDED) FROM COMING IN CONTACT WITH THE BOOM.

4. POWER PLANT

4.1. ENGINE : DIESEL

CUMMINS OR PERKINS OR MERCEDES AT LEAST 310 hp WILL BE PREFERRED

4.2. TRANSMISSION

POWER SHIFT WITH TORQUE CONVERTER - HEAVY DUTY TYPE

( SEE PARA. 1.2 & 1.3 ). TRANSMISSION TO BE EQUIPED WITH SAFETY FEATURES TO PREVENT STARTING OF TRAVEL MOTION WITH LOAD IN HIGH GEAR.

HYDROSTATIC DRIVE SYSTEM IS NOT ACCEPTED.

4.3. ENGINE COOLING

RATED FOR WORK IN THE TROPICAL ZONE, (SEE PARA. 1.1 FOR AMBIENT TEMPERATURES), WATER COOLED ENGINE EQUIPPED WITH A COOLANT RECOVERY BOTTLE.

4.4. ENGINE AIR INLET

ENGINE AIR INLET WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A HEAVY DUTY DOUBLE STAGE DONALDSON TYPE OR

EQUIVALENT CYCLONIC PRE CLEANER AND MULTI TUBE DRY PAPER FILTER ELEMENT WITH AN AIR RESTRICTION INDICATOR. INTAKE TO BE AS HIGH AS POSSIBLE.

ABOVE GROUND LEVEL.

4.5. EXHAUST PIPE

EXHAUST PIPE MOUNTED IN UPSWEPT POSITION.

4.6. ENGINE OIL FILTER

FULL FLOW HEAVY DUTY REPLACEABLE ELEMENT TYPE.

4.7. TRANSMISSION OIL SYSTEM

THE TRANSMISSION OIL SYSTEM SHALL HAVE A

SEPARATE OIL COOLER AND A FULL FLOW HEAVY DUTY OIL FILTER WITH A REPLACEABLE ELEMENT AND

DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE INDICATOR . THERE WILL NOT BE ANY CONNECTION BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION OIL SYSTEM AND THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM.

5. TRAVEL

5.1. TIRES : PNEUMATIC

THE TIRES SHOULD BE SPECIFIED BY THE SUPPLIER. THE TIERS SHOULD BE SUITABLE TO THE MAX LOAD, TO THE APPLICATION,

ACCORDING TO THE ETRTO STANDARDS AND INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS.

TIRE COMPOUN SHALL BE ABRASION RESISTANT AND THE CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE HEAVY UNDER TREAD. MAXIMUM TIRE SIZE AVAILABLE TO BE OFFERED. 5.2. STEER AXLE AND STEERING CYLINDER

STEERING CYLINDER SHALL BE DOUBLE ACTING DOUBLE ENDED SINGLE CYLINDER AND A FIXED LENGTH ROD TYPE, HEAVY DUTY AND WELL

PROTECTED (PIVOTING STEER AXLE WITH DUAL STEER CYLINDERS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE).

5.3. STEERING SYSTEM

FULLY HYDROSTATIC - THE SYSTEM SHALL PERMIT DEAD ENGINE STEERING.

5.4. DRIVE AXLE

EXTRA HEAVY DUTY WITH PLANETARY FINAL DUAL DRIVE.

SPECIAL CARE SHOULD BE GIVEN TO DRIVE AXLE CONFIGURATION, TO WITHSTAND THE WORKING CONDITION DESCRIBED IN PARA. 1.

5.5. SERVICE BRAKE

WET MULTI DISC BRAKE SYSTEM IN FRONT AXLE SHALL BE PROVIDED.

AN OPTION (TO BE PRICED SEPARATELY). DRY DISC BRAKE ON REAR WHEELS SHALL BE ACCEPTABLE.

BRAKE LINING SHOULD BE OF ASBESTOS-FREE MATERIAL.

INDEPENDENT COOLING SYSTEM FOR BRAKES OIL TO BE PREFERRED.

5.6. PARKING BRAKES

DRY DISC BRAKE FITTED ON IN GOING SHAFT OF THE FRONRT DRIVE AXLE OR ON THE FRONRT DRIVE AXLE SHALL BE PROVIDED. DEVICE SHALL BE CONTROLLED MANUALLY FROM INSIDE THE CAB (SWITCH OR

HANDLE).

6. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

6.1. ALL HYDRAULIC COMPONENTS TO BE OF HEAVY DUTY TYPE AND TO BE MADE OF HIGHEST QUALITY STEEL. ALL CYLINDRODS TO BE CHROME PLATED.

6.2. ALL HYDRAULIC HOSES - FIX AND FLEXIBLE, TO BE WELL PROTECTED AGAINST OPERATION DAMAGE.

FLEXIBLE HOSES TO BE SHORT AS POSSIBLE AND EASILY REPLACEABLE.

6.3. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TO BE DESIGNED IN SUCH A WAY THAT USE OF PIPES AND HOSES WILL BE REDUCED TO A MINIMUM.

6.4. 10 MICRON FILTER ON RETURN LINE WITH RESTRICTION INDICATOR AND FILTER ON DELIVERY LINE SHALL BE PROVIDED.

FURTHER, TANK STRAINERS TO PROTECT THE HYDRAULIC PUMPS SHALL BE PROVIDED.

6.5. MULTI STAGE CONTROL VALVE SHALL BE PROVIDED TO CONTROL ALL R.S SYSTEMS AND ATTACHMENTS (SEE PARA. 1.4).

6.6. HYDRAULIC OIL TO BE ACCORDING TO ATF TYPE A SUFFIX A SPECIFICATION AND FITTED WITH THE GEAR PUMP.

7. FUEL SYSTEM

DOUBLE STAGE FUEL FILTER:

► FIRST STAGE - SEDIMENT BOWL.

► SECOND STAGE - REPLACEABLE CARTRIDGE. HIGH CAPACITY FUEL TANK TO BE PROVIDED

8. ELECTRICAL SYSTEM

► HEAVY DUTY ALTERNATOR, 24 VOLT.

► BATTERY AT LEAST 200 AMP/HR, MAINTENANCE FREE TYPE. ► ALL ELECTRIC COMPONENTS TO BE HEAVY DUTY TYPE AND RATED

FOR 24 VOLT OPERATION.

9. DRIVER CAB, CONTROLS AND INSTRUMENTS

9.1. THE FOLLOWING CONTROLS SHALL BE PROVIDED :

9.12. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM MOTION CONTROLS

ALL CONTROLS TO BE LOCATED IN SUCH A WAY TO ASSURE SMOOTH, EASY AND SAFE OPERATION. CONTROL HANDLES PARA 9.6 TO PARA 9.10 TO BE

MOUNTED ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL

9.13. INSTRUMENTS

AT LEAST THE LISTED INDICATORS AND WARNING LIGHTS SHALL BE PROVIDED:

9.13.1. HOUR METER,VOLTMETER, ENGINE

COOLANT TEMP, FUEL GAUGE, ENGINE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE, TRANSMISSION OIL PRESSURE GAUGE AND TRANSMISSION OIL TEMPERATURE GAUGE.

9.13.2. WARNING LIGHTS

LOW BRAKE PRESSURE, LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE, LOW TRANSMISSION OIL PRESSURE, HIGH TRANSMISSION OIL

TEMPERATURE & ALTERNATOR (INCLUDING WARNING SIGNAL).

9.13.3. DISTANCE ALARM

FRONT AND REAR DISTANCE AUDIO ALARM SHALL BE PROVIDED TO PREVENT TOUCH DAMAGE.

9.14. ENGINE PROTECTION SYSTEM

AN ENGINE AUTOMATIC SHUTOFF PROTECTION SYSTEM SHALL BE PROVIDED. THE SYSTEM WILL MONITOR AT LEAST THE FOLLOWING FUNCTIONS:

► LOW ENGINE OIL PRESSURE.

► HIGH TRANSMISSION OIL TEMPERATURE. ► HIGH COOLANT TEMPERATURE.

► LOW COOLANT LEVEL

9.16. OPERATORS ENCLOSED CAB SHALL BE PROVIDED. A LARGE CAB SHALL BE PREFERRED.

13. QUALITY CONTROL

13.1. THE SUPPLIER'S QUALITY CONTROL SYSTEN SHOULD FOLLOW ISO 9001 GUIDELINES OR EQUAL QUALITY SYSTEM.

THE SUPPLIER SHALL SUBMIT A CERTIFICATE ISSUED BY INDEPENDENT ORGANIZATION SHOWING THAT HE MEET ISO 9001 REQUIREMENT.

13.2. THE SUPPLIER SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR INSPECTION METHODS, MAINTAINING SURVEILLANCE AND

CONTROLS FOR ALL TESTING AND SPECIAL PROCESSES, CHECKING MANUFACTURING METHODS, MATERIALS AND BOUGHT IN ITEMS, FOR COMPLIANCE WITH APPLICABLE SPECIFICATIONS, MAKING REPORTS OF INSPECTIONS AND TESTS TO BE PROVIDED TO THE PURCHASER.
