1. For HKDSE Examination candidates applying for the 4-year undergraduate programmes, the minimum general entrance requirements are Level 3 or above in Chinese Language and English Language, and Level 2 or above in Mathematics (Compulsory Part) and Liberal Studies (i.e. “3322”). Apart from the four core subjects, individual institutions may also specify the entrance requirements for individual faculties / programmes as well as other admission requirements. At present, institutions generally require applicants to have attained Level 2 or 3 in one or two elective subjects.
The minimum general entrance requirements for sub-degree programmes are five subjects at Level 2 or above (including Chinese Language and English Language) in the HKDSE Examination or equivalent.
2. The total HKDSE scores for 4-year undergraduate programmes is calculated from the sum of the four core subjects including Chinese Language, English Language, Mathematics, Liberal Studies and the best elective subject. The total HKDSE scores for sub-degree programmes is calculated from the sum of the best five subjects including Chinese Language and English Language obtained by applicants admitted to respective study programmes.
