If you would like to handle office functions in a doctor’s office, group medical practice, nursing care facility, hospital or clinic, this program may be for you. Mercer is offering this certificate program to meet the growing demand for specialized medical office support staff. Skilled, qualified people are needed to help in storage, retrieval, coding and processing of the medical information needed for efficient health care delivery and reimbursement. The Health Careers Center of the Mercer County Technical Schools also offers a Medical Assistant certificate program in conjunction with MCCC. This program includes a strong clinical component with internship experience. Students must be available to attend school daily for this one-year program which begins each year in late August. Students completing this program will receive the Medical Office Assistant certificate from the college as well as a diploma from the Health Careers Center. The Center also offers individual clinical modules for students unable to attend full-time.
