Note: Initial selection of an English composition course is determined by a placement test. Call the Liberal Arts Division or the Academic Testing Center for details. English courses are sequential. Therefore, a student must satisfy the composition requirement — with a minimum grade of C in ENG102 — before taking literature (200 level) courses. Applicability of credits in courses below the 100 level toward degree requirements is limited.

Note: The English Department offers sections of English Composition I and II that are specifically designated for non-native speakers of the English language. For more information, contact Fran Davidson, (609) 570-3852.

ENG101/102 WEB: Students who register for MercerOnline classes of ENG101 or ENG102 are required to write two essays, one at the beginning of the semester and one at the end, in the Academic Testing Center on the West Windsor campus. Further information about this requirement can be obtained by calling (609) 570-3308.

Note: Initial selection of a mathematics course is determined by the results of a placement test. Contact the Math, Science & Health Professions Division or the Academic Testing Center for details. Applicability of credits in courses below the 100 level is limited. Students who have completed math courses at another college must present transcripts.

Mathematics Placement: Students not required to take pre-college review mathematics should take the Mathematics Course Placement Test to determine the appropriate level of math. A pretest and authorization form may be obtained at the Math, Science & Health Professions Division office (MS 126) or from a counselor. The placement test is given in the Academic Testing Center, and the results are discussed and reviewed with a member of the mathematics faculty.

Instruction combines clinical experience in area hospitals with on-campus lectures and lab classes.
