General
After you login to the LaunchPad, you will see an icon on your desktop called Cloud Drive. This will most likely be the first icon in the upper left of your LaunchPad.
Areas of importance.
The Cloud Drive has 3 main folders called
My Classes
My Documents
Shared
These are hosted folders where you can store and share documents. My Documents is your personal repository of files that only you have access to.
Smart Menu
What is it?
The first time you click on a document, you will be presented with the Smart Menu. This menu gives you all available options for the file.
Default Actions
You many notice radio buttons next to certain Smart Menu options. These are called your Default Actions. You can tell LaunchPad to automatically perform certain actions each time you click on a file of a particular extension.
For example if you want to Open Locally all Word Documents (.doc), simply select the radio button next to Open Locally and click on the button. This will save your preference for this file type.
Settings (Change Default Actions)
If you ever want to change or view your current default actions, click on the Settings Icon next to Search.
Context Menu
If you right click on any file or folder, this will open the context menu. Right clicking on a folder will allow you to create files in the folder you selected.
Create New Files and Folders
New Button
If you click on the New Button, you will see a list of options for various file types and folder. New will only be available if you have Add/Edit or Co-owner access to a folder.
New Collaborative documents will create a Typewith.me document in the folder which can be accessed by multiple people at the same time.

What’s New
The only K-12 based cloud desktop has seen some major enhancements this fall. The theme of this release is Cloud Drive. LaunchPad makes it easier than ever to access and edit your documents from any devices, anytime, anywhere!
Advanced Permissions
Users can now apply permissions at the user or group level for a folder in shared. Administrators and teachers can set permissions on any folder they create in the shared area of Cloud Drive. In addition, a new permission level has been added, co-owner which gives those users full control of the contents of that folder.
Mapped Folder Support
Now you can access all your files and folders from your existing school network right through the LaunchPad Cloud Drive. Administrators can specify what folders will be mapped, name that will appear to users and the users/groups that have access to the mapped folders.
Tons of new options
New files, folders, copy, move, typewithme integration and much much more! We made it easier than ever to access, edit, manage your documents online with LaunchPad!
Cloud Drive
Permissions
The labels for the permission levels have been updated to the following: View Only Read only access
Add/Edit Add files, edit files
Co-owner Full control along with delete, move, rename Creator Owner of folder with full control
If the user is the creator or co-owner of a folder in shared, they can give users permissions to the contents of the folder. Permissions if not set are inherited from the parent folder.
Search
Users can search the current folder and all sub folders with search. A new toggle button has been added to switch between the current folder and sub folders. Users can easily clear search results.
Set Default Action
When a file type does not have a default action (open locally, open in Zoho, download), a new menu will appear that will allow users to pick an action and what to set as default for that file type. A radio button will appear next to the option you would like to set as default (optional).
Enhanced Upload
Copy/Move
Now it’s a snap to copy and move files & folders to new locations. Either right click or access the action menu to copy/move files.
