EARLY PROGRAM ACCEPTANCE APPLICATION
PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS
Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, is now offering a unique opportunity for early acceptance to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. This opportunity is open to high school seniors graduating in May or June, and all freshman and sophomore students currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
The deadline for application completion including all required paperwork to the
Admissions Office at Schreiner University is January 15th at 5 pm for acceptance in
the fall semester and September 15th at 5 pm for acceptance in the spring
semester. Students will be notified by letter if they have been accepted into this program opportunity which guarantees admission to upper-division nursing courses once additional application forms, coursework, and clinical practice entrance requirements have been successfully completed. In addition, an overall GPA of B or higher must be maintained throughout this program. Incomplete applications will not reviewed!
**Applicants must have all of the following paperwork submitted in a timely manner:
1. A Letter of Application for consideration of enrollment in the Early Acceptance Program Option
2. Completed Schreiner University application.
3. Submitted record of completed and current course enrollments and grades.
4. Official copies of transcripts of all attended schools mailed directly to Schreiner University (if not currently enrolled at Schreiner University). **Information on course enrollments and grades must be updated each semester.
Note: Program admission to upper-division nursing courses is guaranteed
provided:
1. All Early Acceptance Program requirements are successfully achieved
2. A TEASV score of seventy-two (72) or higher is achieved 3. The Nursing CAS application is completed

At the time of application, the applicant must have completed, be currentlyenrolled in, or have a written plan to complete all courses designated below as nursing program prerequisites with a grade of B in English, math, and science courses at both the high school and college level.

Specific Grade Requirements:
1. High School and College or University GPA at or above a B.
2. English, Math and Science grades at or above a B. Able to repeat one
course to achieve the B grade or higher for these courses.
3. No more than three (3) C grades in any course of the outlined
pre-nursing college or university requirements.

ADMISSION APPLICATION
PROCESS AND REQUIREMENTS
The deadline for submission of an application and other required paperwork to Schreiner University’s upper-level BSN program is January 15th of each year at 5 pm for admission in the fall semester. Nursing applications are available with Nursing CAS online at www.nursingcas.org. Incomplete applications will not be accepted!.
The Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) Test of Essential Academic Skills V (TEAS V) entrance exam is required for consideration of admission and must be
completed by January 15th at 5 pm. The testing is available at Schreiner University
for a fee. A study manual and online practice assessments are available for a fee and recommended as preparation for the examination. Fees will change. For

Specific Requirements:
1. Completed TEAS V exam with a score of seventy two (72) or higher. For each application cycle, only two (2) attempts for successful achievement of a score of seventy two (72) or higher will be considered. A student may apply a second time for program admission consideration during the next program acceptance/admission cycle. Only four attempts to meet the required TEAS V score will be considered.
2. Completed and current Schreiner University and Nursing CAS applications.
3. Official copies of transcripts of all attended schools mailed directly to Schreiner University (if not currently enrolled at Schreiner University).
4. A minimum grade of C in most pre-nursing classes and an overall GPA of 3.0 a B or higher.
5. A grade of B or higher in English, Math, and Science courses. No more than one (1) course can be repeated to achieve the required B grade will be considered.
6. Completion of additional requirements for clinical practice will need to be submitted no later than thirty (30) days prior to upper-level

Although it is not required, a course in medical terminology is highly recommended.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Except for students participating in the Early Acceptance Program, admission to Schreiner University as a student does not guarantee entry into the upper level nursing program or nursing courses. Admission does allow you to compete for a limited, predetermined number of students positons. Admission is primarily based on academic performance, TEAS-V exam score, and the ability to meet clinical placement requirements.

TRANSFER FROM ANOTHER PROFESSIONAL
NURSING PROGRAM
Students wishing to apply for transfer to Schreiner University BSN Program must satisfy the same prerequisite course work and other criteria as do all other applicants as described above. In addition, applicants must be in good academic standing in and eligible to continue in the original nursing program. Prior nursing course work will be evaluated for equivalency with the Schreiner University curriculum. Placement in the BSN program will be determined on an individual basis. Students who have earned a “D” in more than 2 nursing courses are not eligible for admission.
