Product Overview

Graphical Applications in the cloud is a service offering which enables organisations to host and deliver high resolution, hardware accelerated 3D graphic applications with GPU virtualisation in the cloud.

Virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) no longer needs to be constrained to low-resolution desktops, enabling multiple Virtual Machines to simultaneously share a single, physical GPU and run visually rich, interactive applications. Using GPU virtualisation with VDI, using either Citrix Xendesktop or VMware Horizon View, allows a secure on-demand service available to any user, anywhere, on any device.

Ours service provides delivery of individual full virtual desktops or applications to PCs, Macs, tablets, laptops and thin clients with a high-definition user experience.

Product Features

Our VM Graphics Acceleration service offers the following benefits:  3D accelerated graphics for graphics intensive applications  Dedicated solutions based on customer requirements

During off-boarding MDS will delete any customer data and licensed software. If this data is required by the customer then MDS must be notified in advance. Any effort required to transfer data and licensed software out of the MDS environment will be charged using the MDS SFIA rate card.

Pricing Model

The initial service is offered as a resilient server offering 8 GPUs servicing a maximum of 8 virtual machines. Additional blocks of 8 GPUs can be ordered.

Setup of the service is provided up to the operating system within the initial charges. Installation and

configuration of the customer’s application is dependent on how complicated the application is, and therefore needs to be charged flexibly. We will work with each customer to provide a price for installing applications using our SFIA rates.

Pricing for the equipment element is based on current hardware pricing and expected customer requirements. Bespoke solutions can be provided if required.

Monthly per VM pricing is as follows: Initial 8 GPUs: £900 per GPU or VM  Additional 8 GPUs: £690 per GPU or VM Services must be purchased in blocks of 8 GPUs.
