INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS FOR JCSO VEHICLE MAINTENANCE & REPAIR

The JCSO maintains a vehicle fleet of approximately 190 vehicles most of which are manufactured by the Ford Motor Company but the fleet also includes ATV’S, larger vehicles such as vans and trucks, and boats of various sizes. The successful bidder should be able to provide a one-stop shop for all required maintenance, repair and installation of items and equipment as specified for all JCSO vehicles and boats.

Preference will be given to bidders who have prior experience with the service of high performance law enforcement vehicles and the installation of specialized law enforcement equipment such as, but not limited to, emergency lights, sirens, computers, prisoner screens, audio/video units, etc., as more fully detailed in the attached bid form.

The successful bidder must give priority service, without appointment, to JCSO

vehicles and must provide 24-hour emergency service

.

The successful bidder must have a facility which is absolutely secure 24/7 and that is capable of accepting JCSO vehicles driven or towed to the facility at all times of the day or night.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reserves the right to visit the successful bidder’s place of business to inspect and evaluate the security and the vehicle service/storage areas.

To limit down time for vehicles and due to the need for priority service without

appointment, only auto service businesses located within Jefferson County,

Kentucky, will be considered for award of this contract

.
