In order to Login to your Britain-Australia Society Account, click on the Member Login Tab in
the upper right corner of the website panel, as show below:
After clicking on this section, you will be prompted to enter the email address with which
you joined the society and your password, which should have been sent to you during the
launch of the website. If you have multiple email addresses or are unsure which email
address you used in the creation of your account, contact
office@britain-australia.co.uk
to
have your account details checked. If you have forgotten or did not receive your password
but have your email address, click on Lost Password and enter your email address to start
the password reset process.
In order to review or change any of your account details, click on ‘Update Details’. Please
ensure that on this details page your address and/or contact details are accurate.
The new website for the Britain Australia Society uses a partially automated system to maintain your membership and subscription to the Society. In the period directly prior to the expiration of your subscription, an automated message informing you of your impending membership lapse will be sent to the email address of your account. When an account has lapsed, a new entry will appear in the Members Area panel, allowing you to renew your subscription online by using the PayPal service. If you do not have or do not wish to use PayPal, other methods of payment available are through banker’s order, transfer, cash or through cheque. The details for these payment methods can be found in the Postal Membership Form, which should be filled out, printed, and mailed to the Britain-Australia Society Office along with your chosen method of payment. In order to locate the
Postal Membership Form, navigate to the Membership page by clicking on the Membership entry at
Click on the Download Application Form button, and print the resulting .pdf document.
For members who have organised a banker’s order already, or who are life members of the Society, membership renewal is entirely automatic, and no action is required on your part to maintain your subscription. Additionally, your account, when lapsed, will remain in the Britain-Australia Society Database, and can be reactivated at any time, regardless of how long it may have remained inactive. This means that if you are a member returning to the Society after an extended absence, your login and password are still the same, and a new application is not necessary - although a review and (if needed) update of contact details is highly recommended.
Also note that, as PayPal payment of membership fees is entirely online, a Postal Membership Form is not needed for renewals using this method.
The following section is used to answer some of the most commonly encountered questions
regarding the use of the website. The list is not completely comprehensive, however, and should you have a question that is not answered below, please contact office@britain-australia.org.uk .
How do I book Events?
There are two methods to book an event with the Britain-Australia Society: Online and Offline.
Offline methods are to contact the Society office directly, either by phone or post. Simply give your
name and let us know which event you wish to register for, and payment details, if any are needed, will be discussed. Alternately, a Postal Booking Form is available to any event on the page for the event.
Online booking of events is the preferable method of booking events, due to its 24 hours/ 7 days a
The above diagram highlights the position that the button will be in on the event page, if the event is Bookable.
Why can’t I book certain events?
Where are the details (time, price etc.) of Events?
The details of each Event are listed in the dedicated page for the Event, accessible through the
Events page at the top panel of the website. The description (and, if a partner event, booking
details) are listed in the left-hand panel, while the panel to the right lists the specific date(s) that the event will take place on, the address of the venue for the event, prices for both Society Members and Non-Members, and a Google Maps image of the street address for the venue. The Google Maps image is also a link to Google Maps, with the address pre-programmed for ease of use. This right-hand panel is also where the Book Tickets button will appear, as shown in the diagram on the previous page.
How do I view Event Galleries?
In order to view Event Galleries, you must be logged in to your members account. Once logged in, the Event Galleries link will appear in the Members Area panel in the upper right, as shown below:
After clicking on the Event name or View More, you will be taken to the event page, where the complete gallery can be found below the description panel, described on the previous page. In order to view the picture magnified to full resolution, click on the picture you wish to view.
How do I find past (or future) Events?
How can I pay for Events?
As mentioned in ‘How do I book Events?’, payments may be made for events in several forms. Online payment may be made through PayPal. Offline methods of payment are Cash, Cheque and BACs. On both the Postal Membership Form and the Postal Booking Form (details of finding these can be found in previous questions) details for payment (including bank details and to whom to make cheques payable to) can be found.
Am I able to pay for membership or Events with Credit Cards?
Not directly. The Britain-Australia Society are unable to process credit card payments, however a PayPal account, our preferred manner of online payment, can be linked to a credit card and used to make payments through their secure systems. Details of how to do this can be found on the PayPal
Website.
Once you have clicked on the Forgot Password link, you will be prompted to enter your email address in the field provided and then to click on the Request Password button, as shown below.
Once you have clicked this button, a message containing details for password recovery will be sent to the provided email address. Note that if, for any reason, your email is not on the Britain-Australia Society database, this process will not function correctly. If this is the case, or if any other problems are encountered with the password or email correction process, the website administrator can be directly contacted at office@britain-australia.org.uk for a manual password reset process.
How do I use the Search function?
I am a Member of one of the Society Branches (West Country, Lincolnshire,
etc.) but I am unable to log in to my account. What should I do?
