1. Installation of the Cisco VPN client for MS
Windows 7, Vista, XP and 2000
You can download 64 bit version or 32 bit version of the latest version of the VPN client software (9 Mb). After agreeing with the Statement concerning the use of Cisco VPN client (http://tools.cisco.com/legal/export/pepd/Search.do), click on the link that applies to your system, then click on "execute" (possibly twice).
In the window WinZip Self-Extractor, choose 'unzip'. In the following window (language choice), click 'ok'. Click 'next' in the welcoming screen.
Accept, when desired, the licence agreement by checking the option 'I accept the licence agreement', and then choose 'Next'.
Choose 'Next' if you accept the standard location for installation of your files. Choose 'Next' to proceed with the installation.
Click 'Finish' to complete the installation procedure. Click 'Yes' to reboot your PC.
2. First usage of VPN-connection and configuration
You can start CISCO VPN client via the shortcut on your desktop or find and start CISCO VPN client in your computer (usually located at 'Start - Programs - Cisco Systems VPN Client - VPN Client').
First of all, you have to import VPN client configuration prepared for you by CLOUD4COM
Your configuration is prepared for you in VPN client configuration file (PCF) so you can simply import it into VPN Client. In the appearing dialogue box select the VPN client configuration file you have received from CLOUD4COM (usually in following format 'CUST-xxxx-admin.pcf').
3. Use of a VPN-connection
Let’s assume you have VPN configuration profile already imported in your CISCO VPN Client.
4. Work with your virtual datacenter (vDC)
First of all you have to install VMware vSphere Client
You can download it directly from vCenter. Go to
http://prg0100-vc01.prg01.cloud4com.com and download vSphere Client software package.
After installation open vSphere Client and connect to vCenter with your username and password.
o vCenter IP address: prg0100-vc01.prg01.cloud4com.com
o Username: <YOUR-USERNAME-RECEIVED-FROM-CLOUD4COM> o Passsword: <YOUR-PASSWORD-RECEIVED-FROM-CLOUD4COM>
o Restart o Open console
If you want connect CD/DVD ISO installation image to your virtual machine you can upload ISO files into special shared ISO datastore. Later you can connect this ISO to your virtual machine.
Select and browse ISO datastore.
Please be aware that ISO datastores are shared for all CLOUD4COM customers so don’t store there any sensitive data. ISO datastore is intended as temporary storage for installation media. All files older than 7 days will be automatically deleted.
5. Possible problems
CISCO VPN Client
If you have a firewall installed, then it is possible that the firewall has not been
configured well. In that case, you will get an error message even before the verification of your log-in and password. Turn off the firewall and firts try to set up the VPN
connection withou the firewall. After that you can adjust the firewall settings.
An update of F-Secure Anti-Virus for example could be the cause of the fact that your computer is restarting every time you want to use the VPN connection (Cisco).
Other programs as well, such as Skype can cause problems as well when using the VPN connection.
