FIELDPRO

Drill a hole in the ground

The hole in the ground where your Sensor will be placed must reach 50 cm in depth. Use the mark indicated on the Trado FieldPRO or the measuring tape until this level is reached.

Step 1

Clean the leaves, plants or straw from the place.

For the corn crop, remove the plants within a radius of two meters to avoid shade and interference in the

monitoring.

Step 2

Pour 300ml of water in the place of the hole and wait 2 minutes until the water be fully absorbed.

Step 3 | First drilling

Be careful so that the auger is not tilted at the time of drilling, as this may leave the FieldPRO Sensor turned when inserted into the ground.

In the same place you poured the water, drill the hole in the soil.

Rotate the auger so that it can enter the soil. Disregard this collected land. Use a rubber hammer or a pocket knife to help remove soil from the auger.

Add 100ml of water to the hole and wait 1 minute until it is absorbed.

Step 4 |

Second drilling

Again, be careful that the auger is not tilted during drilling.

Continue the hole in the soil and place the collected soil in the bucket. Pour all of the soil that is removed from the hole from this second drilling into the bucket.

Use a rubber hammer or a pocket knife to help remove dirt from the auger.

Again, pour another 100ml of water into the hole and wait for 1 minute until it is absorbed.

Step 5 | Third drilling

Repeat the same procedure: continue to make the hole in the ground; put the collected soil in the bucket; and then pour 100 ml of water into the hole, waiting for it to absorb.

Step 6 |

Fourth drilling

Drill the last hole following the same steps as before. In some cases, four perforations will be enough to reach a depth of 50 cm. If this is not the case, perform as many as necessary.

Make slurry

The soil that you collected from the hole and placed in the bucket will be used to make a slurry that will accommodate the soil sensors.

Pour 200 ml of water into the bucket, mix it with the help of a shovel or a spatula until a paste forms.

The consistency of the paste should not be too runnyv, so that it does not stick to the spatula.

Also not too consistent that it doesn’t fall off the spatula.

If the mixture is still very thick, add small amounts of water until it is ideal.

This is the right consistency.

Insert the Sensor into the ground

Step 1

Remove the mark indicating how far your Sensor should be inserted into the ground.

Step 2

Hold the device by the rod and insert it into the hole with the FieldPRO logo on the Sensor head facing North.

Step 3

Check that the FieldPRO is inside the hole until the height indicated. Do not go beyond that level much deeper or outward, so that it doesn’t interfere in the analyzes Do not use too much force and never use the Sensor head for this.

Step 4

Add the soil slurry around the hole until it overflows.

Step 6

Remove excess of soil paste around the device and add dry soil in the same location, pressing the dry soil with your feet or hands around the Sensor

Step 7

Finally, pour 1 liter of water around your FieldPRO Sensor.

Step 5

Carefully hold the Sensor by the rod and make light up and down movements with it, so that air bubbles are removed from the hole.

It is not necessary to remove a large part of the Sensor from the hole, just make smooth movements to get out the air bubbles.

Make sure the installation is correct

It is important that the stem is vertically at a 90° degree angle for the correct

measurement of field data, in addition to preventing the device from breaking.

Make sure the installation is correct using our app’s level meter. To do this, keep following the installation step by step in the application until you reach this function.

Place your phone on top of the FieldPRO Sensor with the screen facing up. Check on the app screen, the color that the level meter circle will show:

If this occurs, start over again repeating this process until the FieldPRO Sensor is not tilted.

The bubble level that moves on your smartphone screen must be positioned right in the center. The bubble will turn green when it is in the center, indicating that your Sensor is correctly installed.

If the bubble is not in the center, it means your Sensor is tilted.

Activate FieldPRO

After installing the Sensor, the last step is to activate it.

Allow the system to use your phone’s GPS when prompted. This is necessary to locate the device on your farm.

All right!

Your FieldPRO has been activated.

With the FieldPRO app open on your phone, fill in some information about the current crop in the area.

Then, scan the QR Code located at the top to complete the activation of your Sensor.

Wait 48 hours for the FieldPRO to be calibrated and ready to send the data of your plantation in real time, helping you with the best management decisions.

**Note: When you want to install your Sensor in a new location, perform the entire installation step by step again, activating the QR Code in the new area. This is essential for our system to understand the change and start monitoring a new area.
