TREATMENT PROTOCOL

Microneedle Therapy treatment will take approximately 45~60 minutes.

STEP 1: PREPARATION

Cleanse the skin thoroughly to remove all traces of

makeup, oil and dirt. A gentle exfoliating treatment (Porex Mask) or scrub (Nano Dermabrasion Cream) is

recommended to remove the impurities and dead skin cells of the stratum corneum to better prepare the skin for the treatment and to achieve optimal results.

STEP 2: ANESTHETIZE

* Recommended when using MR5, MR10,MR15 and MR20 rollers.

* If using MR2 or MR3 roller, skip this step.

(2)

Apply an even layer of topical anesthetic/numbing cream (Numb Master) to the

treatment area and leave on for 20-25 minutes or until it reaches the climax of numbing efficacy. Proper occlusion is recommended to expedite the numbing process and to prevent product dry-out. Completely remove the anesthetic cream with wet gauze or sponges.

STEP 3: SANITIZE

Use alcohol pads or an antibacterial solution to sanitize the treatment area.

STEP 4: MTS SOLUTION

4A - Divide the treatment area into sub-sections

Prior to application of MTS solution, it is advised to divide the treatment area into small sections as shown in illustration below. If treatment area is small, this step may not be necessary.

(3)

3B - Apply MTS Solution

Depending on the purpose of the treatment, following MTS Solutions are highly recommended to be used during Microneedle Therapy, since they have been tested negative for adverse effects when penetrated deep into the skin.

• APGF Anti-Aging - Advanced Peptide and Growth Factor (human-derived) for intense and rapid correction of aging skin

• APGF Whitening - Advanced Peptide and Growth Factor (human-derived) for intense and rapid correction of discolored skin

• Vital W - Anti-aging (fine lines & wrinkles, etc.)

• Vital PS - Pigment Stabilizer (hyper and/or hypo-pigmentation)

• Vital WH - Wound healing and Scar Revision (acne scars, surgical scars, burn scars, etc.)

• Vital SM - Stretch Marks

• Vital CL - Cellulite Control

• Vital HR - Hair Restoration

Begin by applying a sufficient amount of the clinical solution (appropriate for the

purpose of treatment) evenly over the first section of the treatment area (i.e. forehead).

Then start needling by following the instructions in Step 5.

STEP 5: MICRONEEDLING

Hold the skin taut by gently pulling down with the thumb and index finger of the free hand to assist in even needle

penetration. When Microneedling with MTS Roller, apply enough pressure to allow needles to fully penetrate to its length. In general, an equal amount of pressure should be applied throughout the treatment area. For sensitive areas (i.e. forehead, neck, periorbital and perioral areas), apply lighter pressure and proceed with caution.

Roll the same area vertically, horizontally and diagonally for approximately 3-4 times (refer to the “Needing Direction”

diagram). If there are specific areas that one wants to focus on, that area can be rolled several more times.

Prevent lateral movement (dragging sideways) while rolling and do not over-apply pressure. It is not recommended to exceed 10 minutes of rolling time for each treatment. For Stretch Marks and Cellulite, push & pull the skin with one hand and roll the treatment area with the other hand.

(4)

After the micro-channels or microconduits are created, re-apply a small amount of the clinical solution in the same area (i.e. forehead) and then gently massage with your finger tips to facilitate greater penetration and absorption. ‘Double’ application of solution (applying solution prior to and after microneedling) increases the efficacy of the treatment modality.

Repeat this process until all sections of the treatment area are completed.

STEP 6: SOOTHING

Apply a Peptide Aqua Gel Mask for 10 to 15 minutes to help reduce redness, soothe, and moisturize the skin. It is recommended for the MTS Peptide Aqua Gel Mask to be refrigerated prior to use to increase the cooling effect.

STEP 7: COMPLETION

Proper post treatment care is strongly recommended. Apply Vital WH (Wound Healing) for faster recovery onto the treated area. Follow with either StemPep Serum/Moisturizer or VitaPep Serum and Peptide Moisturizer. Lastly, apply MTS Sun Protective Cream to protect the skin from the UVA and UVB.

STEP8: POST CARE

Hydration and UV protection is crucial for proper recovery post treatment. Chemical-free, natural solutions or medically approved products, rich in peptides and antioxidants are strongly recommended to be used. For best results, in-clinic Microneedle Therapy treatment(s) should be followed with the regular use of the personal MTS Roller, MR2 or MR3 combined with CRL active skin care products.

Recommend MTS Anti-Aging Kit to your client as a home care regimen to help maintain the skin in its optimal condition. MTS Anti-Aging Kit is comprised of one MTS Roller MR2 (0.2mm needle, shortest length for homecare that allows a higher penetration of topical solutions), VitaPep Serum (enriched with vitamin A, E and C), Peptide

Moisturizer (provides hydration and anti-aging benefits), Sun Protective Cream (SPF 30 provides broad spectrum UV protection), and one packet of Peptide Aqua Gel Mask.

THINGS TO KNOW

WHAT TO EXPECT

Patients will experience mild sensitivity and redness after the treatment, these are signs that the fine micro points have penetrated into the skin. Patients need to be advised not to wash their face/treatment area for 4 to 5 hours after the treatment. Skin will feel tight and dry for 2~3 days post treatment. Some patients may experience light shedding of dead skin and/or minimal scabbing in the treated area, due to the quickened cell turnover and keratinization cycle. The micro-channels will close within 24 to 48 hours and the sensitivity should abate quickly. The general redness will gradually disappear within 24~48 hours.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS (CONTRAINDICATIONS)

Do not use MTS Roller on irritated skin, infected skin, fungal skin infections, active acne, rosacea, eczema, psoriasis, severe solar keratosis, raised moles, warts, sores or any open wounds. Patients who are not sure about their skin condition should consult a dermatologist before using the MTS Roller. Precautions are advised for diabetics, pregnant women, and people with high blood pressure. Clinical tests have not shown any side effects from using MTS Roller when used as directed under the supervision of a trained skin care professional. Use serums, creams and/or any other cosmeceuticals, or herbal topical only with supervision of a trained skin care professional.

GUARANTEE: 100% CONTAMINANT-FREE

MTS Rollers are sterilized with gamma radiation, sealed in a medical hermetic pouch, and are guaranteed to be 100% contaminant-free upon delivery.

CLEANING AND STORING MTS ROLLER

MTS Roller models MR2, MR3, and MR5 should be meticulously cleaned after every use with the MTS Sterilizing Kit.

The MTS Roller is packaged in a protective case and sealed in a sterilized hermetic pouch. The Protective case is specially designed to suspend the roller in the air and keeps it fastened in place to prevent contact with any surface. This prevents needles from bending and any possible damage. After each use and sterilization, store the roller in the supplied protective case for maximum hygiene and safety.

NOTE: MTS Roller models MR10, MR15 and MR20 are disposable. Always treat the MTS Roller gently and avoid any contact with hard objects or surfaces. Replace all rollers that have been dropped. Keep rollers out of reach of children.

ADVANTAGESOF MICRONEEDLE THERAPY

Compared with conventional resurfacing methods, MICRONEEDLING with the MTS Roller has undisputable advantages. The most important is that the epidermis, the natural skin protection barrier remains intact. Hence the risks and negative side effects of chemical peeling or laser resurfacing are eliminated due to the fact that the epidermis is NOT removed or otherwise damaged. While the micro-channels in the epidermis close within hours, a new collagen-structure starts to form on the dermis.

TWO PRINCIPLES SHOULD BE CONSIDERED:

• The transdermal delivery of cosmetic substances with the MTS Roller (MR2 & MR3) with relatively short needles for personal, at-home treatment serves more for the preventative and maintenance care of the skin.

• Sun damaged skin, visible wrinkles, cellulite, scars (acne, surgical and burn), and stretch marks are classic indications for CIT (Collagen Induction Therapy). Therefore, before a home treatment with the shorter needles is commenced, it is advisable to explain to the client that CIT with clinical MTS Rollers can re-build the skin structure from bottom to top – the visible surface.
