Some Quick Getting started tips...
1. Create a new client
1. Open the web browser and insert the URL for your IOMAD installation 2. Click on the IOMAD
Dashboard...
3. From the Company Management tab click on the link Create Company 4. Populate the company
details:
• Name/Location details
• Theme details
5. Click on Save changes
2. Set up client departments
1. From the IOMAD
Dashboard...
2. From the Company Management tab click on the link Manage
departments
3. Click on the button Create department and populate the fields:
• Long name (e.g. Human Resources)
• Short name (e.g. HR)
4. Repeat steps 2 & 3 until all
level 1 departments are created
5. To create a sub department under an existing
department, tick the
department you wish to
position the sub department
under before clicking on
Create department
6. Click on Save changes
3. Course Management
3.1.Create a course container (course area which will hold the course description, course content or SCORM and certificate)
1. From the IOMAD dashboard...
2. Click on the tab Course Management and click on the link Create Course 3. Populate the course details:
• Course Full Name (e.g. Anti Bribery &
Corruption - teaser (code:ACABC1314))
• Course Short Name (e.g.
Code:ACME_ABC1314)
4. Decide, how do users enrol
on the course?
- Users can enrol themselves
Self enrolment which bypasses the licence function
- Enrolled by manager Manual enrolment which by
passes licence function - Users require licence Manual enrolment which uses
licence function
5. Insert course description 6. Click on Create and go to
course
7. Adjust the look of course as desired and delete blocks you will not use 8. Add the course description
details by editing the
summary at the top and then
click Save changes
3.2.Add a Certificate activity to a course container
Is a Certificate required for the client course container?
If so, does the certificate need to be branded and if so has this been made available in Moodle?
If so, then execute the following steps:
1. From the IOMAD
Dashboard.... Navigate to the correct course container 2. From the correct course
container Click on Add an activity or resource
3. Select Certificate and apply the correct settings, see right.
4. Create license allocation and assign to a client course container
Set the course availability
1. From the IOMAD
Dashboard...
2. From the tab Course Management click on the link Manage Course Settings
Filter the course list using the company drop-down 3. Now apply the following
settings:
Is Licensed = Yes Is Shared = No Note:
Training expires after = set days if you want course chaser email to go to enrolled users when they need to renew their training.
Days to email before training expires = set days if you want course chaser email to go to enrolled users x days before their training is due to expire.
Days to email after if not complete = set days if you want course chaser email to go to enrolled users x days after their training has expired.
Create license allocation 4. From the License
Management tab click on the License Management link
5. Click on the button Create License
6. Set the following values:
1. License identifier
Client – Start date – End date
2. License expires after Date allocation is valued to
3. License is valued for:
x days from enrolment 4. Number of Licenses to allocate:
Number of purchased licenses.
7. Select which course(s) to
assign this allocation to.
Note:
Can create allocation per course, or assign multiple courses to allocate so you can assign a pool of licenses.
5. Add users to LMS
1. From the IOMAD Dashboard...
2. From the User Management tab choose the right
company and then click on Create User
3. Click on the button Expand all and populate the fields:
• First name (e.g. Bob)
• Last name (e.g. Smith)
• Email address (e.g.
bob.smith@ ELD.com
• New password
o If you leave empty the password will be generated – the user will be emailed a temporary
password and forced to change their password OR
o Insert a password that satisfies the password policy
• If you want the user to change their password the next time they login then check the option labeled Force password change
• If you don’t want the user to receive a password change notification via email then select No
OR
• If you do want the user to receive a password change notification via email then select Yes, however you must also check the force password change to do
• thisDepartment (either assign user to a company dept or leave on company name)
• Role to assign (either assign; User, Dept training
mngr, or Company mngr)
6. Assign user(s) to course(s) with Licenses
