Volunteers Needed to Visit By Phone at Virtua Hospitals

Volunteer Chaplain Aids and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are needed throughout the Virtua Health Hospitals in Burlington and Camden Counties. There are openings for trained lay visitors every day of the week. Following a training and orientation process, an Aide may donate two to four hours

each week to visit patients by phone, offering them friendship and spiritual comfort. Once visitation is available again in our hospitals, these same volunteers would be welcome to visit our patients in the

hospital after some additional training.

To find out if volunteering is for you, please call or email for an information package with details of the training and the process to become a volunteer.

For information in regards to volunteering at Virtua Burlington, Virtua Marlton, Virtua Mt. Holly and Virtua Voorhees, please contact Chaplain Marge McGinley at 609-94-6365 or

email mmcginley@virtua.org

A Message from Sister Mary Kay

I heard a story this week about a school in the Midwest who used the lyrics of a song as part of a welcome back for their faculty and students. The song is “Truth Be Told” by Matthew West and if you

have a moment it is worth a listen. The school used two lines from the song on the first two steps leading into the school: “Lie number one you’re supposed to have it all together….Lie number two everybody’s life is perfect except yours….Truth be told, the truth is rarely told…” and then on every step

leading to every floor they wrote things like: You are beautiful. You are talented. You are loved. And the list went on. What a great reminder for all the young people and those on the faculty and staff at that

school. God offers us reminders everyday of who we are and whose we are and the truth is: we are

“God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved….” Colossians 3: 12 It is easy to be discouraged in life, the news and events of our world can leave us feeling helpless but we are not; let us encourage one another in

prayer this week that we will know in our hearts the depth and breadth of the love of God. Peace.

Please remember in prayer this week our Faith Formation families.

The names in bold are those families who celebrate a sacrament this year.
