LLIANCE

http://knowledgealliance.org/

This event is one of five Knowledge Alliance Essential Information workshops in Seattle, Chicago, Los

Angeles, Atlanta and New York during the month of May. These workshops are designed to help

pro-spective LIS students from underrepresented groups prepare for graduate education, navigate career

options, and connect with diverse network of peers and mentors to help break down the complexities

of a transforming industry and build a path that suits each individual’s goals and skills. The Knowledge

Alliance began through the IMLS funded Discovering Librarianship project sponsored by the American

Library Association’s Office for Diversity. Discovering Librarianship built a network of in-the-field

recruit-ers comprised of early career librarians from previously successful divrecruit-ersity recruitment programs to

de-velop recruitment materials and serve as ambassadors for the profession at career and graduate

educa-tion fairs across the country. These activities are made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and

Library Services [RE-03-10-0063-10].
