Networking Requirements

The CIPer Mo del 3 0 c o ntro llers are shipped fro m the fac to ry with a default platfo rm and statio n and all nec essary items to run the statio n, alo ng with a Tridium c ertific ate. To start using the platfo rm and the statio n inside it, yo u must c hang e the default c redentials fo r platfo rm and statio n using c o mmissio ning pro c ess pro vided in the Co nnec t- ing to Default Platfo rm and Statio n sec tio n o f the CIPer So ftware To o l Installatio n and Operatio ns Guide . Onc e the default c redentials are c hang ed, yo u c an use the de vic e.

Note:

The CIPer Mo del 3 0 c o ntro llers c o mes within built DIP Switc h feature, befo re c o nfig uring IP setting make sure all DIP switc hes are in o ff po sitio n.

Default IP Address

The fac to ry- shipped state o f a c o ntro ller has the fo llo wing default setting s fo r IP address, HTTP po rt, and plat- fo rm c redentials.

IP Address

When shipped, a new CIPer Mo del 3 0 c o ntro ller is pre- c o nfig ured with an IPv4 address in the rang e:

1 92 .1 68 .1 .160 .

Default subnet mask: 25 5.25 5.25 5.0

Yo u c hang e these IPv4 netwo rk setting s while starting up the c o mmissio ning o f the CIPer Mo del 3 0 c o ntro ller.

HTTP Port for Platform Access

When shipped, the p latfo rm daemo n o f CIPer Mo del 3 0 is c o nfig ured to listen o n HTTPS po rt 50 11 . Often, this is left at default. Ho wever, if a different po rt is needed fo r a platfo rm c o nnec tio n (perhaps fo r firewall reaso ns), yo u c an c hang e this during the c o mmissio ning o f the CIPer Mo del 3 0 .

Platform Daemon Credentials

Any CIPer Mo del 3 0 c o ntro ller is shipped with default platfo rm daem o n (administrato r) c redentials.

Default platform credentials:

• Username: honeywell

• Password: webs

Default station credentials:

• Username: admin

• Password: Admin12345

• Passphrase: Honeywell1

Initially, yo u need to use the default c redentials (User ID and Passwo rd) to o pen (lo g in to ) a platfo rm c o nnec tio n to the CIPer Mo del 3 0 . During the startup c o mmissio ning , yo u must replac e this platfo rm administrato r ac c o unt with at least o ne different platfo rm administrato r user. Make sure to g uard the c redentials fo r suc h platfo rm us- ers c lo sely.

Note:

The Niag ara 4 Co mmissio ning Wizard do es no t allo w yo u to c o mmissio n and startup a c o ntro ller while retain- ing the fac to ry platfo rm user.

Protocols

The c o mmunic atio n pro to c o ls suppo rted in the CIPer Mo del 3 0 are separated into two c ateg o ries

• Network- Level

Controller- Level

Fox/ Foxs (Fox- secure)

pro prietary TCP/ IP pro to c o l used fo r statio n- to - statio n and Wo rkbenc h- to - statio n c o mmunic atio n.

The Fo x Servic e in eac h statio n defines the po rt to us e and manag es the ac c ess.

HTTP/ HTTPS (HTTP- secure)

Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP)

It is a netwo rk pro to c o l whic h fac ilitates with a lo o p- free to po lo g y fo r Ethernet netwo rks. RSTP is faster than STP in terms o f c o nverg enc e when to po lo g y c hang es o c c ur. The lo o p - free to po lo g y e nsures that there is no bro ad- c ast sto rms and duplic ate frame transmissio n.

Spanning Tree Protocol (STP)

It is a netwo rk pro to c o l whic h fac ilitates with a lo o p- free to po lo g y fo r Ethernet netwo rks. STP is slo wer in c o mpar- iso n with RSTP.

Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)

It is netwo rk manag ement pro to c o l, where the DHCP server dynamic ally allo c ate s an IP address to the netwo rk devic es o r s ystems, so that all the devic e in the netwo rk c o mmunic ate with eac h o ther.

Domain Name System (DNS)

The DNS translates the do main name o f a netwo rk system o r devic e into numeric IP address, whic h is required fo r identifying a spec ific devic e in the netwo rk.

TCP/ IP Configuration

The TCP/ IP c o nfiguratio n step enables yo u to review and adjust the TCP/ IP settings fo r a platform.

Configuring TCP/ IP Settings

While c o nfig uring the TCP/ IP pro perties, do the fo llo wing :

1 . Review the Interfac e 1 setting s o n the IPv4 Setting s tab, whic h inc lude s the tempo rary fac to ry- shipped IP address.

2 . Enter a unique IPv4 address fo r the netwo rk. No o ther devic e o n this netwo rk sho uld use this IP address.

3 . Enter the appro priate subnet mask used by the netwo rk.

Alternatively, if the netwo rk suppo rts Dynamic Ho st Co nfig uratio n Pro to c o l (DHCP), yo u c an enable it b y se- lec ting the DHCPv4 o ptio n. In this c ase, the IPv4 Address and IPv4 Subnet Mas k fields bec o me read- o nly.

Note:

• Generally, static IP addressing is rec o mmended o ver DHCP fo r stability. If DHCP is preferred, an IP address Reservatio n sho uld be entered fo r the CIPer Mo del 3 0 in the DHCP server and the CI- Per Mo del 3 0 IP address sho uld no t c hang e.

• Do no t enable DHCP unless yo u are sure that the netwo rk has the DHCP servers . Otherwise, the CIPer Mo del 3 0 c o ntro ller may bec o me unreac hable o ver the netwo rk.

Supported Cables

The CIPer Mo del 3 0 c o ntro ller suppo rts fo ur Ethernet po rts. The Ethernet switc h shall suppo rt:

Non- Failover (Daisy Chain)

In no n- failo ver, that is daisy c hain c o nnec tio n type, if any o f the de vic e in the netwo rk fails, the devic es next to the failed devic e also fail.

Fo r example, there are 10 devic es in a netwo rk and devic e number 1 is the master devic e, whic h c o nnec ted to devic e 2 , and devic e 2 is c o nnec ted to 3 , and so o n. If devic e 5 fails to func tio n, the devic e after 5 , that is 6 , 7 , 8 , 9 , and 10 also fail to c o mmunic ate with master devic e.

Failover (Spanning Tree)

In the failo ver o r spanning tree c o nnec tio n type, the devic es c o nnec ted in the ring , c o mmunic ate with eac h o ther. If o ne o f the devic es in the netwo rk fails o r sto ps wo rking , the rest o f the d evic es c o ntinue to wo rk and fail- ure o f o ne de vic e do es no t affec t the wo rking o f o ther devic es.

Fo r example, there are 10 devic es in a netwo rk and devic e number 1 is the master devic e, whic h c o nnec ted to devic e 2 , and devic e 2 is c o nnec ted to 3 , and so o n.
