IEEE Conformity Assessment Program (ICAP)
What is Conformity Assessment?
- Mechanism to verify and ensure conformance of a product or solution with the applicable IEEE standards
- Provides assurance and confidence a product or service meets requirements
How Conformity Assessment benefits industry
- Establishes baseline for performance expectation
- Eases pressure on vendors’ supply chain by reducing or eliminating different customer testing
- Gives users confidence
- Reduces both vendors and users costs to run individual interoperability tests
- Early identification of non-conformances problems before deployment.
• Avoids dealing with unexpected behaviors during installation and over project life cycle
- Helps identify gaps and mature / develop industry guides and
Standards.
IEEE Standards Education
Focal point for delivery of information on education about standards Recognizes the importance of standards in meeting technical, economic,
environmental, and societal challenges Knowledge of standards can help
facilitate the transition from classroom to professional practice by aligning
educational concepts with real-world applications
