Role Purpose

As the Strategic Pricing & Contracting Chapter Lead, you will be a member of the Diagnostics Solutions Global Access & Policy Leadership Team (GA&P LT).

In this position, you will be the leading figure and key point of contact for Roche Diagnostics’ capabilities in Strategic Pricing & Contracting. You will improve the chapter’s overarching expertise based on current and upcoming needs to deliver on network priorities (e.g. upcoming portfolio investments with new technology skills needed).

You will be responsible to excel in developing the capabilities of Chapter members

specialized in Strategic Pricing & Contracting, including their skills in translating the clinical utility and health economic evidence into sustainable, innovative value and pricing concepts that support local pricing and contracting decisions. As a line manager of Chapter members, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing Chapter members’ personal professional journey and coaching your direct reports towards greater personal impact.

You will partner primarily with the Function Head and Chapter Leads within Global Access & Policy and across different Networks and geographies across the enterprise. These

interactions are intended to support bringing the right capabilities and expertise to the efforts & squads to deliver across Networks’ priorities (who organize around business value). You will play a critical role in crafting and implementing key aspects of Global Access & Policy's mid- to long-term strategy and ultimately contribute to the overall Roche Diagnostics Vision.

You will be responsible to:

1) Ensure that Roche Diagnostics’ capabilities in strategic and operative pricing thrive:

a) Define the short and long term capability needs for the Chapter to deliver on the Function’s and Network’s strategy, and execute on it, ultimately advancing the Function’s expertise and helping our Customer Areas and LCT’s to achieve their business objectives

b) Enable an environment that fosters development of best practices and thought leadership for all aspects pertaining to strategic, innovative pricing, contracting and tender excellence; exemplify the principle of proactive and continuous improvement c) Maintain and develop all assets and partnerships related to Strategic Pricing & Contracting that are owned by Roche Diagnostics

d) Promote fluidity of Chapter members’ capabilities (as needed) to easily support different business needs across Networks

2) Be an active coach and mentor to members of the Chapter to help them grow and progress in their career

a) Nurture and develop an empowered, knowledgeable, effective and efficient group of leaders and subject matter experts (SMEs) within the Chapter with the required world-class capabilities to support Roche Diagnostics’ efforts

b) Ensure that personal professional development is a priority in assignments of Chapter members and spread awareness for this

c) Design and promote personal professional journey paths within the Chapter, enabling the fluidity of resources intended by our New Ways of Working

3) Support access to the right resources

Work closely with Customer and Disease Area Networks and Chapter Area Head to identify and translate strategic direction to capability needs

Support Network Lead within Global Access & Policy to allocate the right resources to the right efforts, e.g. either to support squad staffing or provide functional expertise to support decision making in relevant Decision Making bodies (LCT- or Customer Area-level)

4) Enabling the organization’s New Ways of Working

Act as Role-model for Agile Leadership behaviors, as well as for our culture, mindset & behaviors as defined in We@RocheDiagnostics

Model behaviors to support the organization’s transformation to new, more Agile Ways of Working – e.g. new decision making/governance practices, collaboration, translating common goals into 90 day action plans / OKR, etc

As the Chapter Lead you:

Are committed to cross-functional collaboration and breaking down silos to achieve the best results for the organization

Have the ability to navigate within a changing organization, maintaining objectivity, respect for differences of opinion, fairness, open communication and consensus building skill

High degree of subject matter expertise:

Advanced degree in business, finance, economics, health economics, life science, marketing or a related field. Experience or background in Account Management, Business Development and Partnering are a plus.

10+ years of experience in the diagnostics industry or a related field in business related functions

Deep / broad knowledge in strategic, innovative and operational pricing and broad understanding of the reimbursement dynamics in both developed and developing markets.

Deep knowledge and thought leadership on all aspects relevant to strategic pricing in the diagnostics industry and/or pharmaceutical industry.

Demonstrated courage, vision and drive to be at the forefront of innovative change

Strong track record of building and nurturing capabilities such as such as functional capabilities in the field of pricing, contracting and tender excellence as well as agile principles and senior management engagement

Leadership and people development:

Proven ability to lead with creative attitude, very high self-awareness and being a coach and a mentor to other leaders and partners

Demonstrates the ability to build networks and can inspire to work agile

Empathy towards the needs of Squads and others Chapters combined with skill of prioritizing resource involvement

Demonstrated success in establishing a high performing environment with an excellent reputation attracting the best talent, developing and inspiring them Experience defining and coaching on career progression and critical capabilities developments to adapt to future needs

Senior management skills

Previous experience in managing areas relevant to strategic and contracting pricing

Able to foster positive partnerships through effective influencing, negotiation and conflict management skills

Ability to navigate within an organization with evolving needs, maintaining objectivity, respect for differences of opinion, fairness, open communication and consensus building skills

Leadership

The successful candidate will build and provide effective leadership for the team in a manner that is consistent with the Roche Values and leadership capabilities.
