Facilities Management

The modern workplace is a dynamic environment. Successful delivery of multiple outsourced support services depends on intelligent management, true integration and flexibility. For this reason, we self-deliver all of our Integrated Facilities Management services through multi-skilled employees to ensure optimum efficiency. Our staff are fully committed to environmentally sustainable practices that increase not only business efficiency, but energy efficiency too.

We currently provide FM services to a growing portfolio of commercial and industrial sector customers. In the public sector, we also manage facilities at 12 major hospitals, 200 schools, over 500 government buildings and 8 nuclear power stations.

Business Processes

We have begun to focus our expertise on the rapidly emerging market for business process outsourcing (BPO) as part of an integrated services offer. Our aim is to utilise our innovative solutions to create and drive new opportunities across the public sector landscape. This footprint is set to expand into specific niche areas of the public sector, such as management of energy services, infrastructure, regeneration and planning. We are equipped to service all BPO needs in traditional ‘on-shore’ markets and will form partnerships in order to create a genuinely differentiated offer.

Cofely has a long term contract to operate and maintain the combined heat and power (CHP) energy centre at Dow Corning’s facility in Barry, South Wales. The energy centre comprises a gas and steam turbine CHP, multiple high-pressure waste heat recovery boilers and low pressure boilers. It is capable of generating 250 tonnes of steam per hour and up to 28 MW of electricity. The heat and electrical efficiencies achieved qualify as ‘good quality CHP’ under the CHP Quality Assurance Programme.

Cofely is responsible for the operation and maintenance of water treatment systems which provide boiler feed water and treated water to the site. Cofely also provide an energy efficiency programme to the site utilising a team of specialist industrial energy managers. Together, they continually strive to drive down Dow Corning’s energy costs and carbon emissions.

Cofely is uniquely positioned to deliver industry-leading outcomes for the healthcare sector through saving energy, deploying low carbon technologies and increasing workplace efficiency.

Cofely has a strong presence in the healthcare sector. The project involved the design, construction and day-to-day management of a new energy centre at the hospital, which has reduced carbon emissions by 51%.

We also provide fully integrated facilities management to several major hospitals including the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE), Pontefract & Pinderfields (pictured) and University Hospital of Durham. On all of these sites we have multi-skilled staff to deliver a wide range of services.
