QUALIFICATION TITLE : Visual Graphics Design NC III

UNIT OF COMPETENCY : Create Raster Graphics using a Graphics Application

MODULE TITLE : Creating Raster Graphics using a Graphics Application

Learning Outcomes:

LO 1: Balance image quality and file size LO 2: Acquire digital images

LO 3: Manipulate objects/images LO 4: Use/Modify variable templates LO 5: Create raster graphic for final media

A. INTRODUCTION

The session is designed for the trainees to develop and understand the knowledge & skills required by industry using raster graphics application.

Demonstration is utilized as the method of this training. Trainees will do the hands-on activity to prove their knowledge and skills in manipulating and editing objects/images using raster graphics application. This will benefit them for future assessment and will enable them to be competent in computer application skills.

At the end of the session, trainees will be able to gain knowledge and skills in image-editing tools such as Dodge, Burn & Sponge tools; Cropping & Resizing tools and Eraser tools using raster graphics computer application (Photoshop).

Self-paced The trainer will require the trainees to read information sheet 3.2-1 on Image-Editing Tools. The trainer will embolden the trainees to discuss and interpret their understanding of using the Dodge, Burn and Sponge tools in editing image.

The trainees will clarify questions to the trainer and answer self-check 3.2-1, after reading the information sheet. The trainees shall discuss and interpret their understanding of using the Dodge, Burn and Sponge tools in editing image.

The trainer will check the correctness of trainee’s

responses

through the use of answer key 3.2-1 and shall test their understanding of using the Dodge, Burn and Sponge tools in editing image through discussion and oral questioning.

Demonstration

Let the trainee observe the actual demonstration on using the Dodge, Burn and Sponge tools with Photoshop

application.

The trainer will administer the task sheet 3.2-1 on Image-Editing Tools.

The trainees will perform the procedure on task sheet 3.2-1 on Image-Editing Tools.

The trainee will be observed while performing and provided with feedback and correction will be made as needed with the use of Performance Criteria Checklist 3.2-1. CBLM; Design Brief and Computer installed with Photoshop CS6 b.

Competency should be assessed through actual demonstration with oral questioning and interview with design presentation.

D.TEACHER’S SELF-REFLECTION OF THE SESSION

About 75% of the trainees comprehend the session proper by satisfactorily passed the assessment. For the next session I would be using video tutorial prior to demonstration to suite to the learning styles of other candidate that has difficulties in catching-up with demonstration only.
