The importance of being well-insured
Why should you insure? Simple – insurance means peace of mind. What should you insure? First and foremost, if you do not already have such cover in place, we strongly recommend you apply for legal liability insurance as soon as possible. In addition, it is imperative you con-sider taking out home contents insurance to cover any potential losses in the home. We would also advise you to take out car insurance. From there, you can consider other types of cover to match your needs.

It goes without saying that you insure your possessions ABN AMRO has an excellent home contents policy for this. Or if you have more expensive items, we also offer Valuables Insurance. And for homeowners, there is our Home Insurance policy. You need to be fully covered at all times. What are your home contents actu-ally worth? Probably a lot more than you think, but you don’t need to worry about this – we make sure that your home contents are insured for the correct amount, on an annual basis. And are you planning on moving? A single phone call is all you need to adjust your cover.
Car
ABN AMRO’s Car Insurance is flexible and offers a host of different options. What do you want to insure? What don’t you want to insure? Whatever level of cover you choose, you’ll find the service and extras provided by our Car Insurance are outstanding. Third-party insur-ance is obligatory in the Netherlands for all cars. And this insurance also comes with an attractive no-claims bonus scheme, which is based on the number of years you go without making a claim.

Bear in mind that your employer may be able to cover you for health insurance and work disability insurance. It is also possible that your employer has made a personal benefit arrangement with ABN AMRO. When you take contact with ABN AMRO ask for these possibilities.
But if anything should happen, our Passenger Accident Insurance will pay out in the event of disability or death, irrespective of who was at fault. A car that won’t go isn’t much use, but if it’s because of a mechanical or technical problem, our Breakdown Insurance (for the Netherlands and/or abroad) will get you back on the road. Even if you’re involved in loss or damage through no fault of your own (e.g. in the event of a collision), it may be possible to recover these damages. With ABN AMRO’s Car Legal Expenses Insurance, you’ll be assured of expert legal assistance.
Annual Travel Insurance
Our Annual Travel Insurance is designed for anyone who goes on holiday several times a year and needs to be properly insured during these trips. It is much cheaper than taking out separate travel insurance each time. Single-trip Travel and Cancellation Insurance is more suitable if you travel only about once a year. If you’re going abroad for more than two months, whether for travel, work or study, you can also take out our Long Stay Abroad Insurance in addition to Annual Travel Insurance.
