Some exampleS of reimburSementS

worldwide:

Emily, an International Volunteer in Brazil for the last 6 months, needs new glasses. The optician presents her with a €420 bill. The compulsory VI plan reimburses €300. The VI top-up plan reimburses €96.

She has only €24 left to pay (instead of €120 if she hadn't taken out the VI top-up insurance).

After three months in the United States, Thomas notices a cyst appearing on his hand and decides to consult a dermatologist. The consultation costs him €355. The compulsory VI plan reimburses €319.50.

The top-up plan covers 100% of the actual cost of the consultation, i.e. the remaining €35.50.

Thomas has nothing to pay.

The above amounts are converted into euros from the local currency.
