Faculty Profile : Dr. Vanita Bhoola

With a Doctorate in Project Risk Management and over 19 years of experience in Project Management and Decision Support Systems, Dr. VanitaBhoola serves as a Professor at S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), Mumbai. Apart from teaching at SPJIMR across programs, mentoring students and publishing in leading international journals, she offers tailored courses across different programs at the Institute and customized management

de-velopment programs (MDP) in Project Management based on prior research about company, sector and the immediate business environment that impacts business. She currently heads the Center for Project Management at SPJIMR. The Center offers PMP® Training and Certification in Advanced Project Management.

Dr. Bhoola has handled training & development projects and consultancy assignments with corporate clients, such as, CGI Group Inc. (India), Pfizer India, Siemens India, ICICI

Securities, Deutsche Bank, Procter & Gamble, Colgate-Palmolive, Tata Housing Development Company, Brigade Group, KEC International, Quality Kiosks, Mahindra &

Mahindra, VerchuskaInfotech and Godrej Infotech.

Her subjects of interest include Project Management, IT Project Risk Management, Business Spreadsheet Modeling, and Monte Carlo Simulations using software like MS Project, Project Libre, etc. As the Head of the Centre for Project Management at the Institute she is also responsible for delivering customized programs, consultancy, development of simulations, case studies research papers in the area of Project Management.

Her previous assignments include Head of Training at CBT Infotech and Team Leader at Pragati Software, conducting several training and management development programs. She has also served as a freelancer conducting training and consulting in Project Management across India.

Dr. Bhoola developed a Companion Resource for Project Management Web-based e-Learning Program (2011), which has been published by the Center for Project Management, at SPJIMR. Some of her recent research has been published with the Australasian Journal of Information Systems, Sage Publications, Techmind Research, Canada, International Journal of Research in Business and Technology, Business Perspectives and Research, and so on. Dr. Bhoola’s paper on Measurement of Agility using

SCRUM practices in India, was presented at the prestigious Australian Software Engineering conference in 2013. She also serves as a reviewer for international peer reviewed journals. Her current research interests include organizational culture in Business Schools and development of simulation in Project Management.
