A SELECTED BIBLIOGRAPHY OF NORTH CAROLINA PRACTICE MATERIALS FOR LAWYERS AND OTHER LEGAL PROFESSIONALS

Constance M. Matzen Director of Research Resources

Smith, Anderson, Blount, Dorsett, Mitchell & Jernigan, L.L.P. December, 2001

This selected listing of North Carolina practice materials covers primary and secondary publications used in the practice of law in North Carolina. It is intended for use by practicing lawyers or law school students. The bibliography, which covers only print materials, is in three parts: Primary Materials, General Materials, and Subject Treatises.

The Primary Materials section lists statutes, administrative agency sources, and reporters. The General Materials section covers general legal research, encyclopedias, forms, law reviews, legal ethics, jury instructions, and court rules. The Subject Treatises section lists secondary source, practice-related publications. When appropriate, recent continuing legal education seminar course handbooks are included. For the most part, the listed publications are still in print.
