PowerAddon on-premises system requirements and required

technologies

PoweraAddon on-premises, is fully integrated into Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 - 2015 , required technologies included inside the CRM are:

 Windows Server 2012

 Internet Information Services (IIS)

 Microsoft SQL Server 2012

 Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services

 .NET Framework 4.5

PowerAddon (PowerClick) Send Engine, requires for massive mail sendings an internet connection bandwith suitable for the volume of emails you need to send.

Here below some examples of the bandwith you may need.

PowerAddon on-premises hardware requirements

Is possible to install PowerAddon WebApplications on the sam Server which has to have the following roles on CRM Front-End, or just assign another server dedicated to PowerAddon.

In any case you have to reserve for PowerAddon, a minimun of 2 Core and 4 GB of RAM with an hardisk of 40GB.

PowerAddon on-premises software requirements

In case you decide to install PowerAddon on the same server which contain CRM Front-End Roles, software requirements are fullfilled, so it is possible to install directly PowerAddon.

In case on a dedicated server, PowerAddon requires Windows Server 2012 with IIS Role installed. All the software requirements are fullfilled thanks to Microsoft Dynamics CRM Infrastructure.

PowerAddon Setup

The user account used to run PowerAddon Setup that includes the creation of databases, requires the following minimum permissions:

 Be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer where Setup is running.

 Have Local Program Files folder read and write permission.

 Be a member of the Administrators group on the local computer where the instance of SQL Server is located that will be used to store the Microsoft Dynamics CRM databases.

 Have sysadmin membership on the instance of SQL Server. During Setup are created db for PowerAddon config, operation and associated permissions to PowerAddonUser.

PowerAddon User

This section lists the minimum permissions that domain user accounts require for the services and the IIS application pools that PowerAddon uses.

 Domain Users membership

 Deployment Administrator in CRM

 Users in CRM with System Administrator role

 Read permission to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\SBSoft\PowerClick

 Assign to Application Pool Identity in the IIS for all PowerAddon site. By default, these are created and assigned during PowerAddon Setup.

 Assign in a SQL Server Reporting Services, Site Setting, Administrator Role

 Assign in a SQL Server Reporting Services, Folder Setting, Content Manager Role

 Assign in a SQL , Organization CRM db read permission

Installation

Before Wizard Setup

Before starting the Wizard Setup you may have to run the Retrieve Organization Information procedure of your CRM.

This procedure will generate a License Code that will be sent to you with a Link to download the Setup Wizard, everything will be inside the email you will receive.

Wizard Setup

First step user needs to accept license terms and anti spam policy.

Next window opens on background, carefully. Insert username, password and license code generated and send by email from our Sales Dpt.

Write Microsoft Dynamics CRM address, organization name loads automatically. Fill username and password of PowerUser. Username has to contain also domain name. To continue with setup please be sure that PowerUser has been granted both CRM system administrator and deploy administrator permission (page 2 PowerAddon User).

Then insert SQL server name.

Next step is report server configuration, should be filled automatically with correct address from database. If the address is not correct, replace it with correct one.

Setting IIS configuration, fill address and port, where PowerClick will be available.

Shared virtual directory sets PowerClick shared directory, where application saves data. Can be network or local folder.

Warning – For binding type setting in https

Please pay attention to how to set the binding, because once installed is not anymore possible to make authomatic changes.

In case you install, by configurating the Binding typen as HTTPS, the Wizard Setup will create an IIS as configuration type HTTPS, but won’t select automatically the SSL certificate.

Once the Wizard Setup stops to run,you have to associate the correct certificate to all the Site you have created: - PowerAddonSettings - PowerClickABTesting - PowerClickWizard - PowerImport - PowerQRCode - PowerSMS

Please follow the procedure. Click on Edite Site - > Bindings.

Select the cerificate and click OK.

License Activation

Once you run the Wizard Setup, you will receive an email with your License File as XML format. In order to activate definetely the License, copy the XML file inside the following folder:

C:\Program Files\SBSoft\PowerAddon\License

Without this file won’t be possible to use any of PowerAddon applications.
