The faculty organises Colloquium every semester for candidates to present the progress of their research. The colloquium is attended by the academic sta, local and international evaluators and all doctoral students.

The Colloquium aims to provide a platform to:

• receive feedback from faculty members and others in the form of ideas, suggestions and insights for the research.

• provide opportunities for doctoral students to discuss and compare research methodologies and evaluate recent research contributions in the field.

• expose the doctoral students to a wider area of research. • strengthen and enhance presentation and communication skills. • enhance working opportunities.

Candidates’ presentation will be assessed on the following: • Originality

• Relevancy to the topic of research • Quality of:

- problem formulation - review of literature - research framework - research methodology • Future research opportunities

Attendance is compulsory for all students. Feedback from assessors will be communicated to candidates. Candidates who receive unsatisfactory evaluation (< 3.50) for two (2) consecutive colloquiums and those who fail to present at the Colloquium Presentation without any valid reasons will be required to defend their candidature before a committee.
