Gain the Joint Training Enterprise concurrence of the

requirement for Functional area proponents for individual/staff

training requirements.

3 HASC 2010 Study “Another Crossroads” recommendation: “The Secretary of Defense, the CJCS, the Service

Chiefs, and the Joint Staff should develop remedies for the shortcomings identified by the Fenty and CNA studies that targeted education, training, and modifications to relevant personnel processes. Officers should complete appropriate education before they are assigned to a joint or senior service staff”

BMD Individual Training & Education Needs Assessment(15 Apr11): “Commander, USSTRATCOM should lead, synchronize, and resource Joint Individual BMDS Education and Training for the Combatant Commanders …..”and “Designate BMDS experience and en route training requirements for BMDS billets within GCC billet descriptions” , “Service IAMD training must support and complement overarching Joint BMD training and be standardized and consistent across the Services” and “Incorporate / Synchronize Service BMD educational processes to develop standardized Joint Professional Education Requirements”

negatively affecting the operational readiness of the joint organizations to which they have been assigned.
