6-7
General Application
The majority of control valve applications fall into the general application category. The typical pressure rating for these (linear and rotary) valves does not exceed PN40 or ANSI Class 300. General service valves do not require special engineering so standard options will cover most applications.8-9
Low Temperature
By using an extended bonnet, the packing, gaskets and seals are protected from& Cryogenic
cryogenic temperatures, thus ensuring their sealing properties. Optional special gasketsand packings can be used to operate at temperatures as low as -272°C. Depending on the application, Flowserve cryogenic valves are available with a top entry design for the easy maintenance of valves located in a cold box or with a simple extended bonnet attached to the valve body.
10-11
Medium - High Pressure
Valves with pressure classes above PN40 or ANSI Class 300 are considered by Flowserve as "high pressure" designs. Based on decades of proven experience and expertise, Flowserve can supply the best high-pressure control valves on the market with pressure classes up to PN4000 / ANSI Class 4500 and above.12
Low Flow & Micro Flow
For Flowserve, a Low Flow valve is a valve with a range of Cv value between 0,01 to 4,7. Flowserve manufactures also Micro Flow valves designed to offer lower Cv than 0,01 and down to 0,0000012. In the Flowserve control valve portfolio a wide range of valves are designed to offer both range of Cv value. These products are widely used for applications in laboratories and industrial research departments as well as industrial processes requiring high degrees of control accuracy.13
Corrosive
Corrosive fluids, including both gases and liquids, require special attention when it comes to the materials used to build the valve and Flowserve offers a wide range of choices for these applications. The company has experience in building valves from Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Titanium, Hastelloy, Alloy 6, Inconel, Monel, and many, many others. For fluids that require even greater chemical resistance, Flowserve offers a variety of solid plastic and plastic lined valves.14
Sanitary & Aseptic
In the food and beverage industry as well as in biotechnology, pharmacy and other areas where perfect cleanliness and sterile valves are required, Flowserve has the solution. Our products meet the USDA and 3A requirements and can be supplied for Clean In Place (CIP) and Steam In Place (SIP).14
Utility
In the control valve industry valves are not only used for process flow applications but also to transport all of the utilities fluids around the different process units (for example water, steam, air and other fluids). There are similar requirements in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Industry. Most of these applications do not require sophisticated valve designs and Flowserve has developed a low cost standard product range to suit this sector of the industry.Page
15
Special / Others
In certain control applications the use of standard globe valves is not possible. This is why Flowserve has developed other control valves than standard such as split body or ball sector valve. Flowserve has also developed special products used for process control as a complementary product for the control valve. This could use the fundamental principle of the control valve such as the self-acting regulator or in upstream or downstream the control valve some application using a standard globe or to be associate to the valve itself in desuperheater system for example.16
Severe Services
Severe service is defined as applications which have excessive noise, cavitation, erosion, or high pressure drops. Most valves in these categories require special design work, resulting in the use of special materials or trim designs. Flowserve offers the most comprehensive range of solutions to minimise or eliminate cavitation, erosion and noise.17
Custom Engineered Products
Flowserve accumulated a long the years a strong experience in developing specialfeatures on control valves or complete dedicated product for specific application. The engineering departments of Flowserve around the world have network connection, which allow the customer to be sure that the solution we provide is the best design in regards to his specific demand. The Flowserve’s experience allow us to be recognize as one of the leading company to provide technical solution for process control for industry on critical applications.
18-19
Actuators
The function of the actuator is to adjust the opening of the valve according to the instrument signal in order to ensure correct control of the process fluid. Depending on the actuator selected, the valve position may be open or closed, as in the case of isolating valves, or continuously modulating in the case of the control valves. Flowserve offers different types of actuators according to the thrust or torque required (pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic) to operate rotary or linear control valve designs.20-21
Digital Positioners
Flowserve is able to offer one of the widest range of Digital positioner available on the market. From a purely Digital positioner without any communication through the Hart and to Fieldbus communication. The large variety of demands has conduct also Flowserve to offer three different Digital positioner platform to be able to cover all of the needs we meet in the industry.22-23

Special Features
Setball Z Trim • Attenuation < = 15dBA • Tight shutoff
• The design is based on a ball sector valve with trim which split the flow in many smaller flows and the pressure drop in 3 steps which offers major control benefits
• A V-shaped sector provides accurate control over a wide range, even at low flow rates • The shapping of Z-trim makes
it possible to use the valve for media with some solid part e.g. pulp, without risk to plug the valve
Trimball
• Attenuation < = 25dBA • Tight shutoff
• The Trimball is a ball with a large number of small zigzag channels. When the flow is controlled from the closed position, the channels will be open one by one
• Up to the half open position, the medium will be recirculated between the ball and the valve body. As a result, the medium will be forced to flow through two channels lengths, which result in very gradual opening of the valve
• After the ball valve has been opened through an angle of 45°, the channel will be gradually exposed, so that the medium will flow through the channels only once
• Every channel comprises a large number of deflections, which enables the pressure drop to take place in many small steps

Special Features
• Test port connection • Aseptic diaphragm • Aseptic bonnet
The type 191400 is the prime choice for nearly all applications in the food and beverage industry. Because of it's optimized body design the valve is pocket free so that bacteria or any other kinds of contamination are avoided. The seat is an integral part of the body to avoid additional gaps. The O-Ring packing and general bonnet design ensure a very compact overall height. The stem is guided by a PTFE bushing for precise control, reduced friction and minimal wear. A wiper ring is provided to protect against contamination from the outside. Repair, maintenance or the replacement of individual parts is easy to perform because the body and the bonnet are connected together by a clamp.
Both valve types 191700 and 191800 were developed for aseptic applications in the pharmaceutical industry as well as bio-technology and ultra clean applications. An aseptic diaphragm made from EPDM with a TFM coating is used to seal the media from the environment. To extend the lifetime of the diaphragm a support ring is installed on the reverse side of the diaphragm. Type 191700 with aseptic diaphragm without a stem O-Ring seal but with leakage detection hole in case of diaphragm damage. Every valve is engineered and calculated in accordance with the actual conditions for each particular application.
Custom Engineered Products
• This unique valve is typically used for On-Off bottom drain tank applications, where flushing or fluid transfer is necessary. The valve mounts flush to the tank with a plug extending into the tank with the seat ring flush with the inner wall of the tank. • The valve's compact,
lightweight design is ideal for in-line maintenance under the tank. It can be specified with either a 45° or 60° outlet angle.
• Other options include bellows seal, normalizing fins, a special body without pockets, steam jacketing or a plug that retracts into the body (as opposed to the standard design with an extended plug). • The tank flush valve can also
be supplied as a control valve. • A soft seat option is also
available on differnent design. 4.6 to 645 IV to VI 25 x 15 to 250 x 200mm (1 x ½" to 10 x 8") Class 150 to 300 PN10 to 40 Flanged Butt Weld Stainless Steel 1.4571 -20 to +400

used in place of the valve seat retainer.

• MegaStream eliminates valve noise by control-ling pressure reduction and gaseous turbulence. Pressure drops are taken in multiple stages, with attenuation taking place at each stage. • MegaStream uses
nested cylinders in place of the seat retainer. Each drilled cylinder represents a stage of pressure reduction. • MegaStream uses
three or more stages. MegaStream II utilizes one or two stages while using standard Mark I parts for lower cost. • 1.2< = Sigma< = 1.5

It utilizes a number of diametrically opposed holes to isolate cavitation by impinging a cavitating jet of fluid on similar jet created on the opposite side of the retainer. Impinging jets create a column of cavitation in the center of the retainer. Small stepped holes are used to relocate the venna contracta away from metal surfaces, further reducing cavitation damage.

Pressure reduction mechanisms include impingement, expansion and contraction, and small passages. More stages can be added as required by the design pressure drop. • ChannelStream uses a
set of nested cylinders in place of the seat retainer. Each cylinder has a set of holes and intersecting channels around the outside diameter. In the channels flow is accelerated, in each hole the pressure recovers.
One contraction and expansion comprises a stage, leading to one stage for each cylinder. • ChannelStream

The F5 position transmiter can be either mounted on a valve as a stand alone product or fitted on the P5 positioner housing. On both cases the F5 can be used as position transmitter to send an analog signal from the valve feedback position or as a limit switch box to give information on two different position of the valve.
These two features can be used together also; when the F5 is fitted on the P5 positioner housing, the valve feedback position used is the same than for the positioner itself. The P5 positioner with F5 option can be upgraded after the valve is on the field.
Flowserve Flow Control's global structure also includes a Service and Repair Group to support the three new Flow Control organisations as described here.
