A five-time NBA champion during his 15-year playing career, Steve Kerr is in his first season as head coach of the Golden State Warriors. He was named

to the position on May 19, 2014, becoming the 25th head coach in franchise history and the 20th since the team moved to the West Coast in 1962.

Kerr, 49, joined the Warriors owning 26 years of NBA experience as a player, television analyst and front office executive, including a three-year stint

(2007-10) as president of basketball operations and general manager for the Phoenix Suns. During his time as the Suns GM, the club posted a 155-91 (.630)

record and earned a pair of playoff berths, including a trip to the 2010 Western Conference Finals.

Having made the playoffs 11 times during his playing career, Kerr is one of only 26 players in NBA history to win five championships, earning three rings

with Chicago and two with San Antonio. A key reserve for Chicago during the team’s three-peat championship run from 1996-98, Kerr famously hit the

game-winning, title-clinching shot in Game 6 of the 1997 NBA Finals. He won his fourth consecutive championship in 1999 with the San Antonio Spurs

to become one of only two non-Boston Celtics to win four-straight NBA titles (joining Frank Saul, 1951-54). His fifth ring came in his second stint with the

Spurs during his final NBA campaign in 2002-03.

The NBA’s all-time three-point percentage leader, having converted on 45.4 percent (726-of-1599) of his attempts from long range, Kerr amassed career

averages of 6.0 points, 1.8 assists and 1.2 rebounds in 910 regular season games with the Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic, Chicago

Bulls, San Antonio Spurs (twice), and Portland Trail Blazers.

Kerr was originally drafted by the Phoenix Suns in the second round (50th overall) of the 1988 NBA Draft out of the University of Arizona. Kerr capped his

collegiate career as a senior in 1988 by helping lead the Wildcats to their first Final Four appearance in school history. An All-Pac 10 guard in both 1986

and 1988, he remains the school’s career leader in three-point field goal percentage (57.3 percent). Kerr was also a member of the USA Basketball team

that captured the 1986 World Championship in Madrid, the last American Men’s Senior Team composed strictly of amateur players to capture a gold medal.

During his playing career, Kerr played for some of the most successful coaches in the history of the game, including Phil Jackson, Gregg Popovich, Lenny

Wilkens, Cotton Fitzsimmons and Lute Olson. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, and raised in Pacific Palisades, CA, Kerr was a ballboy in 1978 and 1979 at UCLA,

where his late father, Malcolm, was a professor.

As a broadcaster, Kerr has served two different four-year stints as a game analyst on TNT’s award-winning NBA coverage. In addition to a full slate of

regular season games, he also worked TNT’s marquee events, including the NBA All-Star Game, playoffs and conference finals. During his most recent

stint in broadcasting, beginning in 2010, Kerr also served as an analyst for NCAA Tournament and Final Four coverage on Turner Sports and CBS.

Kerr earned a degree in general studies from Arizona with an emphasis in history, sociology and English in 1988 and serves on the board of directors for

Peace Players International, a Washington, D.C.-based organization that uses basketball as a means to bridge cultural gaps in areas of political, racial

and religious conflict.

Born on September 27, 1965, Steve and his wife, Margot, have two sons, Nicholas and Matthew, and one daughter, Madeleine. Nick is a senior at the

University of San Diego and plays on the basketball team. Madeleine is a sophomore at the University of California, Berkeley, and plays on the volleyball

team. Matthew is a junior in high school.

SERIES NOTES

The 2015 NBA Finals marks the first time Golden State and Cleveland are meeting in the postseason.

The Warriors are appearing in their first NBA Finals since 1975 and seventh overall in franchise history... Golden State has snapped

a 40-year NBA Finals drought, the longest stretch between two NBA Finals appearances by any franchise in NBA history (1975 to

2015).

Golden State is the first team since the 1996-97 Utah Jazz to reach The Finals without using a single player who had previous

Finals experience... Conversely, Cleveland’s

LeBron James

is playing in his fifth-straight Finals.

• Golden State Head Coach

Steve Kerr

and Cleveland’s

David Blatt

are the first head coaches to meet in The Finals in their first

year at the helm since 1947 — the league’s first season — when

Eddie Gottlieb’s

Philadelphia Warriors faced off against

NBA FINALS VS. CLEVELAND

Appearing in the NBA Finals for the first time in 40 years, the Warriors protected their home court with an overtime win over the Cavs to jump out to 1-0

series lead... With the game tied at 98 apiece, the Cavaliers had two attempts at winning in regulation that just missed their mark, forcing overtime in Game

1 of the NBA Finals for the first time since 2001... The Warriors scored the first 10 points in the extra period and held Cleveland to two points, tied for the

lowest overtime total in a Finals game in the Shot Clock Era... The game saw 13 lead changes, more than any other Warriors playoff game in 2015...

Stephen Curry

scored a team-high 26 points to go with eight assists while

Klay Thompson

had 21 points and hit a playoff career-high 8-of-8 at the foul

line... Golden State’s bench, buoyed by 15 points from

Andre Iguodala

, outscored Cleveland’s reserves 34-9... Warriors Head Coach

Steve Kerr

became

the first coach to win Game 1 of The Finals in his first season as an NBA head coach since Mike Dunleavy

and the Lakers in 1991.

GAME 1 - THURSDAY, JUNE 4

WARRIORS 108, CAVALIERS 100 (OT)

The Cavaliers led by 11 points (83-72), their largest lead of the game, with 3:14 remaining in the fourth quarter when the Warriors went on a 15-4 run to

force overtime, the first time in NBA history that the first two games of the NBA Finals went into overtime... Golden State was outscored 8-6 in the extra

frame, dropping its first game of The Finals... The Warriors shot 39.8 percent from the field (33-of-83), their lowest field goal percentage of the postseason,

while the Cavaliers hit 32.2 percent of their shots (29-of-90), a low for a Warriors opponent this postseason... The Warriors attempted an NBA Finals record

35 three-pointers, connecting on eight from distance (.229)...

Klay Thompson

scored 34 points, matching his postseason career-high while hitting a

playoff career-high 14 field goals and becoming the first Warrior since Rick Barry

in 1975 to score 30-plus in an NBA Finals game...

LeBron James

tallied

the fifth triple-double in the NBA Finals of his career, posting game-highs in points (39), rebounds (16) and assists (11) in a 2015 Playoff-high 50 minutes.

GAME 2 - SUNDAY, JUNE 7

CAVALIERS 95, WARRIORS 93 (OT)

The Warriors never led and trailed by as many as 20 points before rallying late in the fourth quarter to cut the Cavs’ lead to one point, but Cleveland

maintained the lead despite a 13-2 Golden State run to open the fourth frame... A 36-24 fourth quarter advantage couldn’t make up for Golden State’s 2015

playoff low 37-point first half... LeBron James

scored 40 points--his second 40-point game of the series--passing

Rick Barry’s

NBA Finals record for most

points through the first three games of a series... Stephen Curry

scored 24 points in the second half, tying an NBA Finals record and Warriors postseason

record by hitting five threes in the fourth quarter, and finished with 27 points to go with six assists and six rebounds, but the Warriors were unable to top the

Cavaliers on their home court... Golden State’s bench scored a 2015 postseason high 39 points, including 11 from

David Lee

in his NBA Finals debut...

Golden State played in its franchise-record 18th postseason game, its 100th game overall this season.

GAME 3 - TUESDAY, JUNE 9

CAVALIERS 96, WARRIORS 91

The Warriors went small to begin Game 4, inserting

Andre Iguodala into the starting lineup for the first time this season (his 96th game this year)... The

Cavaliers scored the first seven points before Golden State finished the first frame with a 31-17 run, the first time this series that the Warriors have led after

any quarter in regulation time (31-24)… The Warriors never trailed again en route to their 21-point victory, the franchise’s largest road win ever in the NBA

Finals... With the victory, the Warriors will finish the 2014-15 season without losing three consecutive games at any point in the campaign, the only team

in the NBA to accomplish that feat... The Warriors improved to 57-0 this season when leading by at least 15 points at any point during a game... Iguodala

tallied a season-high 22 points and playoff-season-high eight rebounds, matching a season-high with four threes (4-of-7 from three-point range)...

Shaun

Livingston

recorded seven points, four assists and a playoff career-high-tying eight rebounds off the bench, posting a game-high +25 on the court.

GAME 4 - THURSDAY, JUNE 11

WARRIORS 103, CAVALIERS 82

LeBron James

hit a go-ahead three with 7:47 to play, but

Stephen Curry

and

Klay Thompson

answered with back-to-back threes and the Warriors

closed the game with a 25-11 rally to take a 3-2 lead in the NBA Finals... Curry finished with 37 points--the most by a Warrior in the NBA Finals since Rick

Barry scored 38 on May 23, 1975--and hit 7-of-13 from three-point range, becoming the first player in NBA Finals history to connect on seven threes in

multiple games throughout the series... James tallied his sixth career triple-double in the NBA Finals, finishing with 40 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists

to join

Jerry West

as the only players in Finals history to score 40 points in a triple-double, but his performance wasn’t enough to overcome the Warriors,

who shot 48.0 percent while holding the Cavs to 39.5 percent from the field... Making his second consecutive start and the 50th of his playoff career, Andre

Iguodala

tallied 14 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, three steals and no turnovers in 42 minutes.

SERIES NOTES

The Warriors earned their first Western Conference Finals berth since 1976 with the 4-2 series victory over the Grizzlies.

Golden State allowed fewer than 100 points for every game of the series… It marked the first time in the West Coast Era that a Warriors opponent did

not score at least 100 points in every game of a playoff series (first since 1958 when the team was located in Philadelphia).

Golden State held Memphis to less than 40 percent field goal shooting for the final three games of the series, the Warriors’ longest such streak in the

playoffs since holding Chicago to under 40 percent shooting in three-straight games in 1975.

The Western Conference Semifinals marked the first time Golden State and Memphis met in the postseason... The Warriors are making their third

consecutive appearance in the NBA Playoffs, while the Grizzlies played in their franchise-record fifth-straight postseason.

WESTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS VS. MEMPHIS

Memphis connected on the first bucket of the game, a three-pointer (one of three the Grizzlies would make for the contest), but the Warriors scored the

next eight points to take the lead and never looked back… Golden State led by as many as 20 points in the third quarter, holding Memphis to just 14 points

in that frame, en route to its fifth-straight playoff victory, the team’s longest postseason winning streak since 1975-76... Per Elias Sports, Warriors Head

Coach

Steve Kerr became the fifth coach in NBA history to win each of his first five playoff games, joining Johnny Kundla

(1949 Lakers),

Bill Sharman

(1967 Warriors),

Pat Riley

(1982 Lakers) and

Mike D’Antoni (2005 Suns)... The Warriors won Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals for the first

time since April 20, 1976... Golden State improved to 44-0 this season when holding its opponents under 100 points... The Grizzlies did not block a shot

in the game… Per Elias, the Warriors have never had a playoff game in which their opponent had 0 blocks (since blocks were first recorded in 1973-74).

GAME 1 - SUNDAY, MAY 3

WARRIORS 101, GRIZZLIES 86

The Grizzlies snapped the Warriors’ 21-game home streak and nine-game overall win streak, handing Golden State its first loss of the 2015 postseason

and just the team’s third loss all season on its home court... The Warriors hadn’t lost at home since an overtime defeat against the Bulls on Jan. 27, and

hadn’t lost in regulation since falling to the Spurs on Nov. 11... The Warriors led just once in the contest--a 4-2 lead they held for 20 seconds--before the

Grizzlies took control... After the Warriors cut the Grizzlies’ lead to two (39-41), Memphis finished the first half with a 9-0 rally to take an 11-point lead into

the locker room... After missing Game 1 with a facial injury,

Mike Conley

led the charge for the Grizzlies, scoring a game-high 22 points on 8-of-12 from

the field... Stephen Curry

led the Warriors with 19 points while

Draymond Green tallied his fifth double-double of the postseason with 14 points and 12

boards... The Warriors lost for the first time all season when holding the opposition to fewer than 100 points (44-1 in those games).

GAME 2 - TUESDAY, MAY 5

GRIZZLIES 97, WARRIORS 90

Despite a 20-5 rally to cut Memphis’ lead down to four points with 3:15 remaining, the Warriors were unable to overcome a deficit that had grown to as

many as 19 points, dropping a second consecutive game to Memphis... The Warriors shot 6-of-26 from three-point land for a second-straight game and

were held to fewer than 90 points for just the third time all season, including a sub-40-point first half for the second-straight game... Stephen Curry

scored

a team-high 23 points but was just 2-of-10 from deep, while

Klay Thompson

scored 20 points to go with eight rebounds...

Harrison Barnes

hit 7-of-10

from the field on his way to 16 points and Marreese Speights

scored nine points in six minutes before leaving the game in the fourth quarter with a strained

right calf... Both

Zach Randolph

(22 points, eight rebounds) and

Marc Gasol

(21 points, 15 rebounds) reached the 20-point mark for Memphis... Golden

State, which trails the series 2-1, has not lost three-straight games at any point this season.

GAME 3 - SATURDAY, MAY 9

GRIZZLIES 99, WARRIORS 89

Trailing 2-1 in the series, the Warriors responded in Memphis by controlling much of Game 4... With the game tied at 18, the Warriors closed the first frame

with a 10-2 run and held the lead throughout the remainder of the contest, using a 14-7 spurt at the end of the half to push the lead to 19 at the break...

Stephen Curry scored 14 points in eight minutes during the third frame, giving him 21 for the half... The MVP finished with a game-high 33 points to go

with eight boards and five assists... With Marreese Speights

(moderate right calf strain) out,

David Lee

logged 15 minutes after previously playing nine

total minutes in the 2015 Playoffs entering the contest...

Draymond Gree

n tallied a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, while

Harrison Barnes

(12 points) and

Andre Iguodala (11) also tallied double figures... The Warriors led by as many as 26 in the contest, their largest lead of the postseason,

and hit 14-of-33 from long range (.424) after back-to-back games with just six triples...

Marc Gasol

led Memphis with 19 points.

GAME 4 - MONDAY, MAY 11

WARRIORS 101, GRIZZLIES 84

The Warriors trailed by as many as 13 points in the first quarter, but Golden State went on an 11-0 run to end the frame with a one-point lead... The game

was tied in the second quarter, but Golden State pulled ahead for good on an

Andre Iguodala three-pointer… The Warriors led by as many as 24 points

on the way to the 20-point win, their largest win of the postseason... Golden State tied a 2015 Playoff-high with 14 three-pointers on 30 attempts… The

Warriors held Memphis to 78 points, the lowest point total for their opponent in the postseason since the Bulls scored 72 on May 11, 1975...

Stephen Curry

scored 18 points, connecting on six threes and finishing the game with 102 career three-pointers in the playoffs... The MVP became the fastest player to

hit 100 threes in the postseason in NBA history, accomplishing the feat in 28 playoff games and besting the mark held by

Ray Allen

, who hit 100 threes

in 35 playoff games... Curry also recorded a playoff career-high six steals, becoming the first player to notch six steals and six threes in a playoff game.

GAME 5 - WEDNESDAY, MAY 13

WARRIORS 98, GRIZZLIES 78

The Warriors earned their first Western Conference Finals berth since 1976 with the victory in Memphis, their first wire-to-wire win of the postseason...

Golden State improved to 53-0 this season (6-0 in the playoffs) when leading by at least 15 points at any time in a game... The Warriors connected on a

2015 postseason-high 15 three-pointers on 32 attempts, shooting .469 from distance… Stephen Curry

tallied a game-high 32 points (including a 62-foot

buzzer beater to end the third quarter) to go along with a 2015 playoff-high 10 assists and six boards… It was Curry’s first 30/10 game of the postseason

(third of his playoff career) and first double-double of the postseason (fifth of his playoff career)… Curry hit 26 three-pointers in the series, breaking his

own record for most three-pointers in a six-game series...

Klay Thompson

became the 12th player in Warriors franchise history to score 500 points for his

postseason career, finishing with 20 points (504 for his playoff career), combining with Curry to score at least 50 points for the seventh time in the playoffs.

CALL IT A COMEBACK

In Game 3 of the First Round at New Orleans, the Warriors became

the third team in the Shot Clock Era (since 1954-55) to overcome a

20-point deficit entering the fourth quarter in a playoff game... Per

Elias, it marked the first time Golden State overcame a 20-point

deficit entering the fourth quarter in the Shot Clock Era in any

contest, with the club improving to 1-358 all-time in those games...

In addition, Golden State has mounted multiple comebacks after

trailing by at least 13 points at any point in a game in the 2015
