Banner University Medical Center Transplant Institute is Arizona’s most experienced transplant center, providing comprehensive care to adult patients in pre and post-transplant acute clinics, all phases of care from referral to post transplant. As part of the Banner Health Academic Medical Division, we offer Transplant Services in Phoenix and Tucson, AZ. As a RN Transplant Coordinator, you will have the opportunity to be a part of our program performing over 350 transplants per year, our programs are poised for continued growth!

Placement in any specific organ program depends on skillset and candidate interest. This is a salaried, day shift opportunity working either 5/8s or 4/10s. Call is required in this role.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides comprehensive management and coordination of care for patients requiring kidney, pancreas, liver, heart, lung or Stem Cell Transplantation The level and intensity of care coordination provided is situational and appropriate based on patient need and payor requirements.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Requires current RN license in state of practice.

Requires a minimum of two years clinical nursing experience; to include a clinical specialty area such as ICU, PCU, CM, OR, ED, Dialysis, Oncology or Telemetry. Must have a working knowledge of care management, resource/utilization management, and hospital and community resources. Must demonstrate clinical proficiency in the care of transplant patients.

Clinical Coordinator Transplant Program

Salary Range: $84,244.00 - $121,617.00 Responsibilities

The Clinical Coordinator Transplant is responsible for coordination of the evaluation and preparation of patients for organ transplantation and long-term management of patients after transplant. The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for coordinating patient care across multiple areas- transplant clinic, the inpatient nursing unit(s), and community outreach clinics-in order to provide continuity of patient care across all settings. This position will be responsible for performing the initial assessment of transplant evaluated patients and providing follow up post-transplant care.

Qualifications

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing plus a minimum of three (3) years of general/surgical nursing experience is required, emergency/intensive care experience preferred. BLS (CPR) is required. One (1) to two (2) years of surgical transplantation experience preferred. Equivalent

education/training and/or experience demonstrating the ability to perform the essential duties of the position may be substituted by RN’s on a year-for-year basis.

Director of Clinical Services

The Director of Clinical Services is responsible for the day-to-day management of the donation process to provide effectively maximize the gift. Provides on and off-site clinical support to clinical services staff as the expert in organ donor management. Oversees the Education Training Director, ensures continued development and improvement of clinical donor management. The Director of Clinical Services participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility for the overall success of the team in achieving departmental goals. The Director of Clinical Services will perform their job in a manner that exemplifies the mission, attributes, and values of LifeNet Health on a continuous basis.

What you’ll do:

Provides leadership to assigned team by directing employees to be effective team members. Ensures that everyone is equipped with the right skills, tools, and talents necessary for executing their duties.

Supports clinical staff with donor management, and overall organ maximization. Develops, maintains, and provides oversight the organ donation process in collaboration with senior leadership.

Provides training and evaluates core competencies of new and current clinical staff in conjunction with the OPO Education Training Director. Advances the knowledge base and skill levels of clinical staff in achieving enhanced job performance, career objectives, compliance to policies and procedures and meets clinical performance matrixes.

Develops short term plans in alignment with business strategy. Assists with budget preparation and ongoing monitoring of departmental financial performance.

Designs and implements research studies in conjunction with OPO Leadership team.

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily twenty-four (24) hour planning, organizing, directing, and controlling of the daily operations and clinical practice of assigned patient care areas, in order to provide quality, individualized patient care and support of Medical Center philosophies. About the job

As a Perfusion Practitioner, you are responsible for managing the normothermic perfusion of recovered organs and for ensuring proper care and maintenance of the liver.

You will be working closely with surgeons and research scientists to preserve the viability of a liver whilst on a normothermic perfusion machine for extended periods. Additionally, you will be able to support the research by collecting samples.

Summary of Main responsibilities

Receive, register incoming biological samples, and process sample requests

Optimization of perfusion procedures and protocols

Processing ex-vivo samples for target validations

Ensure all processes and biospecimen management is complaint with all relevant regulations

Blood gas and chemistry analysis

Conducting experiments for gene expression

Establishing networks for access to tissue and whole liver organ

Liaison officer between international centres

Set up related training courses

Assists with organ recoveries both local and non-local cases.

Maintain surgical recovery equipment and supplies.

Performs pulsatile perfusion of livers as per the specified protocols.

Maintains normothermic perfusion equipment / supplies.

Completes appropriate pump and cleaning logs.

Prepare tissues for freezing and transport to central lab in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities include:

• OurLegacy’s comprehensive organ and tissue donation quality systems.

• Works with OurLegacy leadership to ensure quality standards efforts in all departments.

• Leads the quality team in maintaining a data-driven organization committed to the highest quality standards and a culture of performance improvement.

• Leads the OurLegacy team in successful completion of required State and Federal audits – including Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), etc.

Organ Family Services Specialist

The Family Services Specialist (FSS) will focus on providing support to families in crisis and offering the option of organ and tissue donation to families. This position provides support to donor families during and after the donor family's hospital experience. Provides on-call response to potential organ donors to guide hospital staff through the process of organ donation, consent, and recovery. Assist the nurse procurement coordinators during the early stages of the donation process.

Participates and is compliant with mandatory regulatory approach and authorization training. Independently and accurately completes authorization paperwork with appropriate family member. Provides educational programs to nurse, physicians, health care providers and hospital workers, as well as the general public. Acts as a liaison at public events and education workshops related to organ and tissue donation.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor’s degree in related area plus two (2) years of related experience/training.

• Previously demonstrated patient or family support experience.

• Working knowledge of patient relations concepts to perform essential functions efficiently and effectively.

• Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Must be bilingual in English/Spanish.
