0 out of 5 stars Good Quality Light This item happened to be exactly what I was looking for. I had wired a switched outlet to use for a plugin motion sensor light for an unlit entrance. I used it indoors but the rubber seals make this light good for outdoor use as well. The pair of screws necessary to mount it can be used vertically or horizontally. The LED light source is bright, and the motion sense is adjustable for sensitivity and length of time the light remains lit 5 sec. to 8 min.. My only caution is that the external plastic tabs used to mount the unit may not be durable enough for an outside installation. But there are also internal holes that can be used, and the unit is all plastic and easily drilled. Since I wired my outlet switched, I can also manually operate the light when needed, and still easily resume using my motion settings. Roberts 2.0 out of 5 stars One failed to operate as expected after tenants repositioned the lights. The light would stay on only a few seconds after being triggered. I had installed lighter weight indoor lamps and LED lamps instead of the older heavier PAR 38 reflector types. After replacing the unit and testing the unit indoors and calling Amazon, Brinks and finally Hampton who makes them, I learned that the photo sensor was being fooled as soon as the lights came on because the newer lamps were not the long reflector type that kept light away from the sensor. Nowhere on the box or manual explains why you need PAR38 other than the limited wattage.
So, if you do choose a smarter newer more efficient lamp, find a way to divert the light from the lamp or glue a short tube over the sensor opening so it doesnt detect light from the side. I had installed 4 others of different economy brands around the same time. A few were replacing older metal units where the plastic sensor cover deteriorates after 10 years. Lesson learned after several hours of driving, replacing, testing, calling and reporting. Brinks should update their packaging and Instructions to inform customers of the issues that their Tech Support staff encounter often.As soon as it turned on it turned off, I thought it turned off because of the reflected light that the sensor saw.Then it went through the same cycle as above. I installed a shade over the sensor made of a quart milk carton and it worked fine for almost a year. After about a year it would turn on and wouldnt turn off.When the fixture is in the position with the sensor on the bottom, the screw holes are at the 11 and 5 oclock positions.All they had to do was put two more knockouts in the plastic mold. Idiots. A fifteen minute task.delayed for two days so that I can get a box that fits correctly. And the foam gasket holes will not hold the screws in place while you position them. All in all an
INFERIOR product. Returning it. Let the suckers keep trying to make it work. I would rather have a boil in the crack of my arse than deal with this POS. NOTE They do supply a metal spanner that allows you to add it to the existing screwholes and then rotate it into position.IF YOU CAN GET IT TO ROTATE. Extra step and almost impossible to use. Another piece when two screwholes cast in the plastic would have sufficed.The motion detector trips the light night AND DAY so obviously something is wrong with the light sensor.but theres no adjustment for that. I would have sent it back except that its such a hassle to take down and rewire a new one. Next time, Ill buy a better fixture.
I installed 5 of these at my home. Two of them come on and stay onwhen a cloud passes over, so the sensors are not high quality. Dont buy this product, I have replaced two of them. To their credit, Brinks fulfilled their warranty by sending me replacements. Unfortunately, a third has stopped working. I am not going to get a replacement from Brinks. No ones price is better, but the quality is just not there. I will keep researching to find one that will work better but that is not 5 times the price.perhaps I wont find one.Sensitivity can go from needing to stand and wave your arms to
walking through the yard 6070 feet away. I would definitely buy this lamp againI ordered three more once I put one to the test and I was very pleased. For the low price it works great I would
recommend.Also, I agree with the people who mentioned the flimsiness of the screws, its fine for the garage but I would not recommend this light for outdoor use.But the thing has an auto off after about 15 seconds, then your doing jumping jacks in the driveway to get it going again. NOT COOL.
Also you have to be almost right on it to set it off. NOT RECOMMENDED. Im getting a different one.

Indiana Hoosier 4.0 out of 5 stars After about to throw in the towel, we looked and still had the warranty information. We called the 800 number and the lady was so sweet and gracious. We expected a fight and bad stuff, but she apologized that our unit did not work properly and got another one promptly in the mail. This new unit has been working good since we installed it. I originally had this at 2 stars for a review and am changing it tonight to 4 stars. I dont want to be a negative influence on
potential customers when the customer service department quickly worked to render our situation to a positive one. We have our fingers crossed that the light continues to work as it should. If it doesnt, we know who to call and that means a lot to us. March 2019 still working great!!The screw pin to hold the angle of the bulb chassis is a simple thumb screw with NOTHING to hold it in when unscrewed a little to loosen the chassis to adjust the beam angles. The screw is just barely long enough to mount into the chassis and will come loose and fall out.
Mine fell out and now I have to fine a screw that will fit to hold it in. This design is just terrible. Pros Easy to mount Inexpensive Motion detection Dusk detection Cons Terrible thumb screw design that will fail Nothing to hold the screw in when loosening. Something easily rectified with a toothlock washer Not worth the hassle of trying to fix after it comes loose. Just find a new screw and hope it works One light sometimes will not come on. Loose wires. This was brand new! These splices should not be a concern. Summary Do not buy. Very disappointing. Terrible job Brinks. However, it is apparently an outdoor light that is not made to withstand UV light. I installed one of these lights over a carport about 2 years ago. Recently I found it wasnt coming on. Repositioning the sensor after checking the bulbs my finger touched the motion detectors plastic lens cover and it disintegrated.
Unfortunately there arent many corded floodlights to choose from at least the kind that use bulbs. Id rate the AllPro quartz halogen light as better but it requires a special bulb and has problems of its own. I needed to order some replacement floods and have given up on bulbs and switched to LED floods. There appears to be a wider selection of corded LED floodlights.The test worked. I contacted Amazon for replacement, because product was purchased on their marketplace and they directed me to a manufacturer page which does not offer any contact info. This was a time sensitive item as well, reason for which I extended my prime membership, to receive within a certain time. I do not
recommend, nor Prime.Item installed flawlessly and rest seems to work. But at night it just stays on.
No motion no nothing. My other motion sensors all work great. Will update this review if I figure it the issue.I took it out of the box today, and it seems ok. But the motion sensor cover looks like it was put together by a twoyearold!!
Took some pictures of it up close, and it looks like they just plastered all kinds of glue on it, and they let the glue just ooze out all over the place before drying. Very shoddy workmanship. Hopefully it will work.It stays on for less than 5 seconds on any setting. It was a very nice light if it worked correctly. Returning it to Amazon today, just wish I would have tested it before going through the trouble of mounting the fixture.I had to take quite a bit of time trying to tighten them up, i never did get that figured out, i had to get help to fix that.They stopped working when they got wet or cold and in some cases, starting flashing on and off in an annoying way. Ive now had this Brinks Flood
installed almost a year, through a harsh Canadian winter, and its still working AMAZINGLY. Wet, cold, doesnt matter.it still reacts as per its current settings. security lights are designed to activate when motion is detected in the path of the security sensor.
The lights can be directed and pointed at several angles. Dark areas such as the driveway, garage or backyard can be lit up automatically to help guide you when arriving home at night. Point the
security lights in the direction of the area you wish to light up. Use your hand to guide and angle each light towards your chosen detection area. Adjust the sensitivity setting to determine how much motion it will take to engage the light. Set the time, to determine how long the light will stay on, once the light has been engaged. Select the white light rejection feature. This will prevent the light from reacting to lit objects, such as vehicle headlights. Move the white light detection switch underneath the light panel to the left, to engage this feature, or to the right to bypass. The Brinks 7120 features a pair of powerful outdoor lights and a motion sensor combined in one unit that you can mount to any standard outdoor electrical junction box. Do not install it near flammable materials or liquids.
Find the breaker or fuse that controls the location where you want to install the light; switch off that specific breaker or unscrew that fuse. Use a noncontact circuit tester to ensure no electricity is flowing to the location If there is no box where you want to mount the light, install a moisturesafe junction box. This is a complicated task that involves running power from another location. It should be carried out by a licensed electrician. Twist the ends of the matching wires together clockwise using needlenose pliers and then twist on the wire caps that came with the Brinks 7120 light. The light will then remain on until it is turned off at the switch. With your assistant watching that the base of the ladder remains still, climb up to access the motion sensor light. Remove the electrical tape and flip the switch from ON to OFF to ON again quickly to reset the motion detector to respond to movement. Model DF5939BK Sounds like you have an electrical short, but without a scanner, it could be many things and you would be guessing and searching like a needle in a hay stack.Some alarms have different zones that can be activated or deactivated
depending on the preference of the owner. If it is aftermarket you will need the manual to execute a sequence to arm or unarm the motion detector zone. The motion detector could be faulty and the alarm is isolating that zone.

The red light is located between the fuel gauge and the temp gauge. What is this light for It went.
