Dear Sir / Madam,

Program on

Leveraging Big Data and Analytics

(November 05 – 07, 2015)

Big data is an emerging phenomenon that presents opportunities as well as challenges to organizations. Organizations today recognize that analyzing big data can reveal patterns and rich insights that can be acted upon to create value.

In order to put in place a big data strategy, organizations need to understand the potential of big data applications in their own contexts. They need an exposure to the big data landscape –from the frameworks, technologies and tools for the management and processing of big data, to the analytical techniques that are used to derive insights. Organizations also need to understand how best they can integrate big data with existing IT platforms and systems that are in place.

ASCI’s 3 day program on Leveraging Big data and Analytics meets this need. The program provides knowledge, exposure, perspectives and insights on creating value with strategic data assets and big data analytics. Participants will be enabled to recognize the opportunities and challenges and initiate and take forward Big Data and advanced analytics strategies for their organizations.

This program will benefit executives and officers in senior and middle management representing business/functional areas as well as information technology, from organizations in the services, manufacturing and institutional sectors.

The enclosed brochure contains details about the program. We welcome nominations from your organization. Please do get in touch with us for any further information / clarifications (e-mail: [email protected]) fax: (040) 6653 4356.

We thank you and look forward to hearing from you. With best regards,

Yours sincerely,

Nirmala Apsingikar

THE PROGRAM

Per vasive information and communication technologies and extreme connectivity have resulted in the emergence of “Big Data”, a term that refers to large volumes of high variety structured and unstructured data being generated, often at high speed, from a variety of sources including log records, sensors and other recording devices, opinions and sentiment expressed on social media, and other application systems.

Organizations today recognize that analyzing big data can reveal patterns and insights that can be acted upon to create value. Application areas span many domains in several sectors. Case studies have emerged in areas such as market intelligence, customer service and retention, operations management and process optimization, in the services as well as manufacturing sectors. Big data also presents opportunities in various domains of scientific research, healthcare and security.

Big data is a disruptive force that presents opportunities as well as challenges to organizations. Conventional data processing and analytical solutions cannot handle the massive scale, speed, or heterogeneity of big data. To successfully derive value from big data, organizations need new ways to harness, analyze and mine their big data assets for rich insights.

ASCI's 3-day program on Leveraging Big Data and Analytics will provide knowledge, perspectives and insights on creating value with strategic data assets and big data analytics. Through examples, demonstrations, case studies, and discussion in groups, participants will learn how organizations are using big data effectively in various fields.
