Sunday Afternoon:
They've booked two minibuses (8 person each) with the company AIRPORT CAR SERVICE - BERGAMO (tel: 035-3844412)
They meet us inside the arrival hall. There will be a driver there standing with a sign with probably my name on it!
Matteo and Michele Meoli will be at our hotel/student house around 5pm, according to the information they will receive from the agency they booked for our airport transfer.
The handouts with the week schedule will be at our accommodation, together with some information on Bergamo.
Michele will also make sure that he has all the Italian students’ presentations with him so that we can check the coherence of all the documentation.
Monday:
Due to a request of their Rector, They have decided to move Monday’s Workshop to Città Alta, the historical center of Bergamo.
Tuesday:
There is an event organized by Eco di Bergamo (Bergamo’s local newspaper) to present the Smart City idea to the citizenship. The journalist of L’Eco di Bergamo will meet us on Tuesday afternoon (during the session dedicated to the workgroups) for a short interview and an introduction of Wednesday night’s event organized by the journal. The event is organized on Wednesday 10 October, at 8.45 pm in the Congress Palace in Bergamo. This is walking distance from the University’s main campus, where the student activities will take place.
They have managed to set up a meeting with a representative of the grassroots solidarity economy movement – this will have to be in the evening as these are working people with families and they volunteer their time to food provisioning activism. Laura Norbis will probably meet us on Thursday night at 7pm. To get an idea in English see the work that a colleague of the Tourist masters course, Rossana Bonadei, an expert in cultural heritage, is doing building on their map of the solidarity economy in Bergamo (which no doubt we’ll receive in paper form when we get there).
