STATE ACTIVITIES

Finance Committee Meet

All members of the Finance Committee met on 19.7.2014 at State Headqrs, Bhubaneswar under the Chairmanship of State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P. Mishra to discuss the income and expenditure of the previous year and recommended the budget.

District Scout Guide Secretaries Meet

Secretaries of all districts of Odisha met in the premises of Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides from 25.7.2014 to 26.7.2014. Sri K.P. Mishra inaugurated the meeting. The discussion was on the development of District Activities in previous year and future programme in the new year.

Workshop on Vision 2014

For the purpose of future activities a Workshop on Vision 2014 was organised on 26.7.2014 under the chairmanship of State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P. Mishra, where all the active members of the state association and Dist. Secretaries of different districts participated in the meeting.

World Hepatitis Day

The Odisha State Bharat Scouts & Guides organized an awareness rally on 28 July 2014 in colaboration with

“Sikshya O Anusandhan” University to aware the public about Hepatitis B virus, the silent killer for children and adults. Numbers of eminent people, film stars, culture icons, sports persons, politicians, doctors and adult leaders of Scouts and Guides, Cub masters and Flock leaders were participated in the rally. The rally was started from Rama Mandir square and ended at State Headquarters campus covering 4 kms distance in BBSR town with placard and slogan. A meeting was organized in the State Headquarters premises under the chairmanship of National Vice-President and State Chief Commissioner of Odisha State Bharat Scouts & Guides.

State Executive Meet

State Executive Committee meet was held on 30.7.2014 in the State Headqrs under the Chairmanship of State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P. Mishra to discuss different activities of the previous year. The annual budget for current year was expressed for approval.

Jota Joti Programme

The programme was organised in the State Headqrs on 2.8.2014, which was inaugurated by State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P. Mishra and emphasised on the programme.

Rover Ranger Praveen Training & Service Camp

The Rover Ranger Praveen Training & Service Camp was organised in the premises from 8.8.2014 to 15.8.2015.

279 Rovers and Rangers joined in the camp.

Raksha Bandhan Utsav

Like Every year this year the ‘Raksha Bandhan’ utsav the famous holy day of Hindus was observed by Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides on 10.8.2014. A large number of guides and rangers from different schools and colleges of Bhubaneswar assembled at Headquarters campus for the purpose and being divided in groups the Guides and Rangers moved to different places to tie Rakhi. They tied Rakhi to Hon’ble Minister, Higher Education, along with many eminent persons of Bhubaneswar as well as State Chief Commissioner, State President, Vice- Presidents and other officers of Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides. A group of Guides tied Rakhi to prisoners inside the special jail of Bhubaneswar and tied Rakhi in the hand of passengers at Railway station, bus stand, travelling in the train and bus to spread the message of world brotherhood. Some Guides tied Rakhi in the trees to create awareness to save trees for Healthy Environment.

Relief work in Flood Affected Area

This year near about 12 districts of Odisha State have been submerged with flood. Scouts of Jajpur district rendered best help providing cooked food, water pouch, match box, candle, biscuits, ORS and halozin tablets to 286 families of 9 affected villages like Hosenpur, Chhachina, Tarapada and Patrisahi of Dasarathpur Block for 3 days. Relief were provided to Bili Tentuli village of Banki and the villages of Kanas Block, Puri.

Independence Day

2 Scout troops, 2 Guide troops, 1 Ranger troop, 1 Environment brigade troop, 1 Airwing troop, 1 naval troop, all total 9 troops participated in Independence day parade. Environment group and Scout group received shield and cup from the Hon’ble Chief Minister.

Volunteer Samman

Ranger Su. Gita Das of Sailabala Womens College, Cuttack and Rover Sri Dipak Gadnayak, HWB Open Crew received Volunteer Samman organised by the volunteer organisation

‘Peoples Forum’ at State Red Cross Bhawan on 18.8.2014.

Observation of Sadbhabana Divas

In the memory of the Birth day of Rajiv Gandi, Odisha State Headqrs observed the day as ‘Sadbhabana Divas on 20.8.2014. On this occasion scouts and guides distributed saplings to plant tree to the people.

This day was organised on 24.8.2014 in the presence of the State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P. Mishra as Guest.

He encouraged the Scouts and Guides to have a kitchen garden in their homes and get benefit of getting fresh vegetables every day.

World Kitchen Garden

SARC of Balasore District

The Scout Guide Activities Review Conference of Balasore District was held on 4.9.2014 at Balasore Zilla School. the activities of previous year were discussed and emphasis has been given to increase census for coming year.

Sri State Secy Sri R.M. Dora, Dist. Chief Commisioner Dr. Hrushikesh Kandi and Dist.

Secy Sri Pradip Das and other dignitary officers were present.

State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P. Mishra inaugurated the SARC.

Observation of Guru Divas

In the memory of birth day of the Former President Dr.

Sarbapalli Radhakrishnan, Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides observed the day as ‘Guru Divas’

on 5.9.2015. State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P.

Mishra and State Secy. Sri Rama Murti Dora along with all staff offered their gratitude to the noble soul.

OBSERVATION OF DRUSTI DAAN WEEK Due to various reasons lot of people loose their eye sight and are forced to live in blindness. Donation of eyes is a noble work today for the human being. While observing the eye donation fort night through out the country, Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides organised an awareness campaign on 7.9.2014, All the participants moved on a rally with banners and posters in the township to aware the public regarding eye donation.

OBSERVATION OF BASANT DIVAS

The Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides observed the 11th death anniversary of late Basant Kumar Biswal the former President of Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides in State Headquarters campus on 7.9.2014. An all faiths prayer meeting was arranged in the campus. After that there was eloquence speech and drawing competion was arranged. Sri Bishnu Charan Das,

President joined as Chief Guest and State Chief Commissioner Sri Kali Prasad Mishra presided over the meeting and awarded the winners.

State Council Committee Meet

Under the Chairmanship of Sri Bishnu Charan Das a Council Committee meet was organised on 12.9.2014.

State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P. Mishra, Vice President Sri Manoranjan Mohanty, State Scout Commissioner Dr. Dhruba Charan Parida, State Guide Commissioner Smt. Sipra Nayak, State Treasurer Sri Prafulla Ch. Dash along with the Dist Education Officers of different districts participated. The expenditure of previous year and the budget of present year were discussed.

Observation of International day for peace

The International day for peace was observed on 21.9.2014 in the premises of Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides. Scouts, Guides, Adult leaders and all the office staffs joined in the rally with placards to aware public against the cruel activities of terrorists which breaks the peace of public.

OBSERVATION OF INTERNATIONAL OF SENIOR CITIZEN

DAY

On 1.10.2014 the International day of Senior Citizen is observed in State Headqrs Bharat Scouts and Guides with collaboration of ‘Help Age India’. 200 Scouts, Guides along with public joined in Rally to enlighten the public the importance of the day which was inaugurated by Sri Ashok Ku. Panda, Hon’ble Minister, Tourism and Culture.

Hand Washing Day

To aware the public about the benefit of hand washing on 15.10.2014 a Rally was held by 265 Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers. There was an eloquence competition on the day and the winners awarded prizes by State Chief Commissioner.

Workshop on Free being me

20 teachers assemble in side the State Headqrs on 22.10.2014 and were attended the seminar and convinced of its utility.

SARC of Khordha District

The Scout Guide Activities Review Conference of District was held on .2014

State Secy Sri R.M. Dora, Dist. Commis ioner and Dist. Secy Sri and other dignitar were present.

World thrift day was observed on 30.10.2014. All the Institutions observed the day. A meeting was arranged of Office staff of SHQrs. where Sri K.P. Mishra, SCC and Sri Rama Murti Dora, State Secy advised not to spend money or any thing lavishly.

Khordha 28.10 in the

premises of the Office of Inspector of Schools, Khordha. Sri Brundaban Satpathi, District Chief Commissioner presided over the meeting and State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P. Mishra

inaugurated the SARC. Scout s Sri Nagendra Ku.

World Thrift Day

Nipun Test Camp of Rovers and Rangers

From 14.10.2014 to 18.10.2014 the Nipun test camp was held in the premises of Odisha State Headqrs. 167 Rovers and 66 Rangers joined in the test camp. Sri K.P. Mishra State Chief Commissioner inaugurated the camp.

Swachh Bharat Abhijan

On 18.10.2014 Rovers, Rangers joined in a rally to bring awareness among the public about the benefit of Swachh Bharat Abhijan. They also cleaned Ram Mandir Chhack, Master Canteen Chhack, Rly Station and AG Square.

Observation of Gandhi & Shastri Jayanti

180 Scouts, Guides, Rovers, Rangers, Scoutmasters and Guides captains participated in the observation of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti on 2.10.2014. ‘Sarba Dharma Prarthana’ sabha, debate & drawing competition were arranged in the premises Aurobind Integral Education, Jharapada.

The participants joined in a mass cleaning programm ‘Swachh Bharat’.

Observation of Fund Raising Day

The Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers of all the institutions observed the day. The State Chief Commissioner instructed to Unit of Scout/Guide & Rover/Ranger to increase the Fund for activities in the Schools and Colleges..

FOUNDATION DAY OBSERVATION

7th November is being observed as foundation day of Bharat Scouts and Guides all over the state. Scouts and Guides went to Raj Bhawan to affix token flag to the Hon’ble Governor Sri S.C. Jamir. They also affixed token flag to the President Sri Bishnu Charan Das, State Chief Commissioner Sri Kali Prasad Mishra, Vice President Sri Chiranjib Biswal, Hon’ble Minister Sri Devi Prasad Mishra, School and Mass Education, Sri Pradip Kumar Panigrahi, Hon’ble Minister, Higher Education, State Secretary Sri Rama Murti Dora and many other dignitaries along with general public of Bhubaneswar for awareness about the movement.

Token money collected from the dignitaries was donated to National Headqrs relief fund. State President Sri Bishnu Charan Das, State Chief Commissioner Sri Kali Prasa Mishra, and Sri Dasharathi Satapathi, Addl. Secy, School and Mass Education were present as the Guests.

Observation of National Unity Day

31st October is observed as “Rashtriya Ekta Divas”

(National Unity Day) through out the country on the occasion of the birth day of Sardar Ballavbhai Patel, the ‘Iron man’ of India’s freedom fighter. The Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides organised an walkthon with collaboration of Sikhya O Anusandhan University where 400 Scouts, Guides, NCC and other students participated with their unit leaders. The walkthon flaged up by Sri Dillip Tirki, Member of Parliament and Former Capitain Indian Hockey Team, started from Master Canteen square

with various placards and banners and ended at State Headqrs of Odisha State Bharat Scouts and Guides. Sri P.K. Sahoo, Din of Siksha O Anusandhan University and Director Manas Mallick, Ex-MLA Sri Dillip Harichandan were present in the meeting and explained the significance of the day.

Basic Course for Scoutmasters and Guide captains

The Basic Course was held at Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Puri from 18.11.2014 to 25.11.2014.

77 Guide Captains participated. Sri Lalit Mohan Pattnaik, STC(S) and Smt.

Anamika Das, SOC(G) and STC(G) conducted the camp. On the valedictory function

SCC Sri K.P. Mishra attended as Chief Guest and blessed the participants.

World AIDS day

SARC of Rourkela District

SARC of Sundargarh District

The SARC of Rourkela District was organised on 4.12.2014 at Deepika English Medium School, Rourkela. 83 Headmasters and Headmistress joined in the SARC. State Secy. Sri R.M. Dora, Ex-GM of ISP Sri Narayan Pati, Dist. Secy Sri Santosh Ku. Nayak, Dist. Scout Commissioner Sri Brajendra Das along with other dignitaries were present. The Dist.

Chief Commissioner and Dist. Education Officer Sri Dhruba Charan Behera presided over the meeting.

The SARC of Sundargarh District was organised on 5.12.2014 at Kutra High School, Sundargarh. 176 Headmasters and Headmistress participated in the SARC. State Secy.

Sri R.M. Dora was invited as Chief Guest. Dist. Secy Sri Bidyadhar Pradhan, Rourkela Dist. Scout Commissioner Sri Santosh Kumar Nayak along with other dignitaries were present.

On the eve of the ‘World AIDS Day’ on 01.12.2014, 245 Scouts, Guides, Rovers and Rangers from different schools and colleges participated along with their unit leaders. A rally was started from State Headqrs campus and moved around the city with various slogans and placards to facilitate the public and passers by for prevention against AIDS.

Observation of Sishu Divas

In the presence of State Chief Commissioner Sri K.P.

Mishra along with 207 Scouts, Guides, Scoutmasters and Guide captains a meeting was held on 14.11.2015. An eloquence competition was arranged on the basis of Pandit Nehru.

Observation of World Human Rights Day

World Human Rights day was observed in collaboration with Human Rights Foundation and Child Rights Watch. Numbers of Scouts, Guides, Cubs and Bulbuls participated along with their unit leaders. The seminar was on human rights specially ‘Child Rights’ to protect

‘Child torture’ and to give them their rights to live in the society. Sri Lalit Mohan Pattanaik, State Training Commissioner(S) presided over the meeting. Sri Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, Chief Executive, Peacock, Sri Bipini Bihari Barik and Sri Akhand member of Human Rights joined as guests of the seminar.

District Secretaries meet

The District Secretaries of Odisha State met in the District Secretaries meet on 17.12.2014 at State Headqrs.

Sri K.P. Mishra inaugurated the meeting. There were discussed about the activities of the previous year along with State Scout Guide Rally, Dist. Level Rally, SARC for future programme.

State Chief Commissioner

State level Cub Bulbul Utsav

State level Cub Bulbul Utsav was organised from 8.12.2014 to 12.12.2014 in premises of State Headqrs . 220 Cub Bulbuls and 20 Cub masters and Flock leaders from different districts participated in the utsav.

Dr. Akhil Bihari Otta, IAS, Director, Secondary Education inaugurated the utsav. National Vice President and State Chief Commissioner Sri Kali Prasad Mishra presided over the meeting. State President Sri Bishnu Charan Das, Sri Sibabrata Dash, Director, Elementary Education and Smt. Snigdha Mishra, Block Education Officer, Bhubaneswar joined as Hon’ble Guests. All the guests advised the participants to build their character, being the member of this noble organisation. Street plays on the theme of Womens’ Education, Child tourture and anti-drugs were exhibited in premises of Biju Pattanaik Air Port which was highly appreciated by public. In the valedictory function Sri Dasarathi Satapathy, Dy.

Director, School and Mass Education joined as Chief Guest.
