End of Year Concert Arrangements:
Our school’s end of year concert will be held on Tuesday, 8th December 2020 at 6pm on the Basketball Court. Western Australia is in a positive position in relation to managing the COVID-19 pandemic, and schools can hold and plan COVID-safe events, such as Year 6 graduation ceremonies, Christmas Carol evenings, assemblies and concerts, in accordance with Phase 4 restrictions.
The day of the concert please adhere to the following:
The event will be held on school grounds, we will accommodate the students and then apply the 2 square metre rule to the remaining space to determine capacity for adults.
We request that families bring their own chairs and maintain 1.5 metre separation between people who are not from the same household, with the exception of students on school grounds.
Clear signage promoting physical distancing guidelines and COVID-safe requirements will be displayed around the school.
Please be informed of the COVID-safe requirements that include good physical, health and hygiene practices such as no kissing, hugging or shaking hands. Elbow tapping and having a school banner between presenter and student for photograph opportunities will be in place.
You are encouraged to promptly depart from the basketball’s area following the conclusion of the event.
Parents, carers and community members are encouraged to:
stay home if you are unwell
follow good hygiene practices such as hand washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
avoid sharing common items such as cutlery and crockery.
Maintenance:
Work in the universal access ramps are going well, slight delays are due to the handrails coming from over east.
Stay safe and keep well!

Pre-Primary NAIDOC Creations
On Wednesday the 18th of November the Pre-Primary students had a special visit from Mrs Slater and Mrs Cotterill.
They told the Wetj story (the story of the emu) and showed the students how to make emus from wool and pipe cleaners.
The Pre-Primary students also made a Wetj story book where they illustrated their own pictures to tell the story.
Water Corporation Incursion
On Thursday 12th November Mrs Brown from the Water Corporation came to Wundowie Primary School to talk to us about Water Conservation.
She explained that we can all do our part in saving water by having “Good Water Saving Habits”.
We worked in pairs to change some bad habits into good habits.
4 minute showers
Fix leaking taps
Wash the car on the grass using a bucket
Only fill the bath up to your belly button
Make sure it is a full load in the washing machine and dishwasher
Use the half flush on the toilet
Plant native bushes and flowers in your garden

WALGA RoadWise Road Ribbon for Road Safety® Campaign
Sunday, 15th November 2020 marks the first day of the WALGA RoadWise Road Ribbon for Road Safety®
campaign, coinciding with World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. This community-based campaign provides an opportunity for everyone to directly contribute to road safety and work towards achieving zero deaths and serious injuries on our roads.
We are asking the community to play their part, by making a conscious effort to be a safe road user and supporting our road safety initiatives.
Make a conscious effort to be a safe road user by:
turning off your mobile phone before driving,
adapting your speed to the weather, light, traffic and road conditions,
ensuring you are restrained when travelling in a vehicle,
taking a break, having a rest or if possible, swapping drivers to prevent the onset of fatigue arranging a skipper, organising public transport or staying overnight if planning to drink, and
accepting that ZERO is achievable.
For more information about the WALGA RoadWise Road Ribbon for Road Safety® campaign, visit the RoadWise website; www.roadwise.asn.au/road-ribbon-for-road-safety.aspx.
