Considerable Maul s Made From Store Of N. Weil In Mora County Town.

postoflice
at Ocate,
and
the store
of N. Weil, in which
it
is
located, was .entered by
.burg-lars last night,
.who
rifled the cash drawer,
and ransacked the
stock
in
the store proper.
Eight dollars
in money
was
taken
from"
the
postoflice
funds,
while
stock
Valued
at
$50was carried
away
from
the
store, the
latter
includ.in g clothos, shoes
and
cut-lery.
The burglars gained entrance

offa bolt
which
served
as a lock
onthe
rear
window of
the store
building.
The
robbers
likely headed
for this town,

Clarence
Bowman,
one
of
the members
of
the
N.Weil
firm,
whii
came here from Ocate
to-day, discovered tags taken from the
iit,olengoods,
scattered
along
the highway,
which would
indicate the
thieves
leaded
for the
rail
road.
Mr. Bowman
notified
the
postoffice
inspectors at
Denver of
robbery.
It
is the first burglary ever committed at
Ocate
and
lias
caused considerable excitement there
There
isno clue
to
the
guilty
parties.-

Juan Jose Rotiriguez, an
old

esteemed citizen
of
this
town, was
struck by lightning
and
instant-ly
killed Wednesday afternoon at four
o'clock while
herding sheep
for Eufracio Oallegos between Logan
and
Red River.
The
body
lay in
the water
inthe bottom
of an
arroyo
that
hour until
Thursday morning before it
was
discovered.

general favorite with

knew
him.
