ACA 2021

The Annual Catholic Appeal (ACA) unifies us as Catholics in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Your generous sup-

port has sustained and expanded the many ministries and agencies, making our Archdiocese the vibrant faith community it is today. This year we recognize that WE ARE ONE CHURCH in our efforts to assist those who

are suffering and abandoned. God calls us to be stewards of grace and mercy and your gift to the ACA di- rectly helps to carry out God’s work.

Your generous support means thousands will find grace and mercy through the ministries of the Church.

Please consider a gift to the ACA today! Give online at aca.archstl.org (include in the remarks PARISH 212) or return your card in the offertory basket or mail it or drop it off in the locked mail slot in the rectory door.

Let us know if you didn’t receive a card and wish to donate. Thanks for your support of the ACA!

Simple Act of Kindness--

One person shared:

I had lost touch with my cousin. We were close as children, but not as adults. I sent her the annual Christmas card, but this year it came back as undelivered. I panicked because I am the only family member who was keeping track of at least where she lived. With COVID affecting so many people, I had no idea what happened to her. It took some dig- ging since she was pretty much off the grid, but I finally found her cell phone number. Thank goodness she wasn't a victim of COVID, but in- stead had moved to another state. We had a wonderful call -- we both needed to connect.

Your kindness can brighten someone's day and by sharing your sim- ple act of kindness, you may inspire others to share kindness in the world as well! Please send an email

to: ASimpleActofKindness@sacredhearteureka.org and include a description of your simple act of kindness. We may publish anonymous examples of kindness in the bulletin.

Opening Song—Jesus is Risen (by Lasst Uns Erfruen)

Jesus is risen! Let us sing!

Praise to the ever living King!

Alleluia! Alleluia!

Praise him in song, ye Seraphim!

Praise him with joy, ye Cherubim!

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

On this most holy day of days, Let us together sing his praise!

Alleluia! Alleluia!

Raise joyful voices to the sky!

Sing out, ye heavens, in reply:

Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!

Responsorial Psalm: This is the Day (by Michael Joncas)

R: This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad. This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad.

Presentation of Gifts song—instrumental

Communion song—Shepherd Me O God (byMarty Haugen)

Refrain:

Shepherd me O God, beyond my wants, beyond my fears, from death into life.

Closing song: Christ in Me Arise (by Trevor Thompson)

Refrain

Christ in me arise and dispel all the darkness.

Christ in me arise with your power and your strength. Christ in me pour out your blessing and healing. Christ in me arise and I shall rise with you.

Be now my vision, open these eyes, showing me all that I must see.

Onward to the kingdom, you are the way.

Arise in me and I shall rise with you.

Refrain

Be now my footsteps, leading the way. Taking me where I must go.

Onward to the kingdom, you are the way.

Arise in me and I shall rise with you.

Refrain

You know my heart and you know my ways, you who formed me in my mother's womb. I live and move in you, my whole being thrives in you.

Support and Encouragement for your Grief Journey

Understanding is the first step to healing. After the funeral, when all the activities are over, others return to their normal lives. However, personal grief continues and most people don’t know what to do next.

Often our family and friends want to help but unless they have experienced it, they are at a loss. That’s the reason for our group, Simple Steps Bereavement Group – to reach out to help those who have ex- perienced the death of a spouse, child, father, mother, sibling, or just a really good friend, and to help them cope with their pain.

Meetings for Simple Steps Bereavement Group:

There two sessions of Simple Steps Bereavement Group: one group currently meets once a month on the 2nd Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm;

a second group will begin on Thursday, April 15 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and continue for 13 consec- utive weeks (except for July 1) ending on July 15.

https://sacredheartvp.org/simple-steps-griefshare

Both groups meet at Sacred Heart Valley Park in the Sacred Heart Room. Both groups observe the 6- foot social distancing rule and a mask is required.

Our gatherings include a video followed by prayer, discussion and fellowship.

We welcome anyone who has had a loss of a parent, spouse, sibling, child or other relative/friend.

Looking forward to seeing you. For more information contact Suzie at 636-343-1131 or Jeanice at 314-398-7557.
