Young Life’s Frontier Ranch

Tools for Fighting COVID-19

The goal is to layer as many feasible Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions (NPIs) as possible in any situation.

No intervention is 100% effective. This “Swiss cheese model” demonstrates that the more interventions we layer between

individuals and the virus, the more effective we will be at mitigating the spread of the virus while doing ministry.

Non-Pharmaceutical Interventions (NPI)

Physical Distancing

• EACH COHORT UNIT WILL HAVE INDIVIDUAL, SEPARATE SLEEPING SPACES.

• STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WILL BE UTILIZING ADDITIONAL HOUSING, CREATING DISTANCE AND LIMITING TO LESS THAN 16 PER ROOM.

• TABLES FOR INDOOR DINING WILL BE SEPARATED BY COHORT GROUPS AND PHYSICAL SPACE TO CREATE DISTANCE AND ALLOW FOR SAFE AISLES FOR TRAVEL.

• ALL GROUP GATHERINGS WILL BE HELD IN OPEN AIR SPACES WHENEVER POSSIBLE. FOR THOSE INSTANCES WHEN WORSHIP SERVICES MUST OCCUR INDOORS PHYSICAL DISTANCING BETWEEN COHORT GROUPS WILL APPLY. ONLY GUESTS AND STAFF FACILITATING WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND.

Masks/Face Coverings

• MASKS/FACE COVERINGS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL PEOPLE ON THE PREMISES WHENEVER THEY ARE INDOORS, EXCEPT WHILE EATING OR WHEN IN THEIR SLEEPING SPACE.

• MASKS/FACE COVERINGS WILL BE REQUIRED OUTDOORS WHEN DISTANCE CANNOT BE MAINTAINED.

Handwashing

• CAMPERS WILL BE ASKED TO USE THEIR CABIN BATHROOMS FOR HANDWASHING BEFORE MEALS AND THROUGHOUT THE DAY. IN ADDITION THERE ARE FIVE PUBLIC BATHROOMS AVAILABLE IN CAMP. • HANDWASHING STATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE ON THE DINING HALL PORCH.

• HAND SANITIZER WILL BE PROVIDED ON DINING HALL TABLES, AND THROUGHOUT CAMP, WITH ATTENTION TO HIGH TRAFFIC AREAS.

Screening

• CAMPERS WILL PARTICIPATE IN HEALTH SCREENING PRIOR TO DEPARTING FROM THEIR HOME TOWN,AS WELL AS BEFORE ENTERING THE PROPERTY.

• GUESTS, STAFF, AND VOLUNTEERS WILL COMPLETE DAILY HEALTH SCREENINGS PRIOR TO INTERACTIONS WITH INDIVIDUALS OUTSIDE OF THEIR FAMILY UNIT OR COHORT.

• WORK STAFF WHO LEAVE THE LOCAL COMMUNITY WILL BE REQUIRED TO HAVE A NEGATIVE RAPID TEST BEFORE RETURNING TO THE PROPERTY.

Reduced Capacity

• DROP-IN VISITORS ON PROPERTY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.

• INDOOR SPACES WILL NOT BE FILLED TO CAPACITY. CAPACITY WILL BE DICTATED BY COUNTY LEVEL & SOCIAL DISTANCE. • FOR INSTANCES WHEN WORSHIP SERVICES MUST OCCUR INDOORS, ONLY CAMPERS, LEADERS, AND STAFF FACILITATING THE

EVENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND.

Contact Tracing

• CAMPERS AND VOLUNTEERS WILL BE ASSIGNED A COHORT TO TRACK EXPOSURE EACH WEEK.

• A SYSTEM WILL BE IN PLACE TO TRACK GUESTS DAILY SCHEDULE AND THEIR INTERACTION WITH OTHER GUESTS AND STAFF, IF NEEDED FOR PRIMARY CONTACT TRACING.

• TRIP LEADERS WILL BE ASKED TO REPORT BACK IF ANY CAMPERS OR LEADERS TEST POSITIVE AFTER RETURNING HOME.

Ventilation, Outdoors, Air Filtration

• WEATHER PERMITTING, AT LEAST ONE MEAL A DAY WILL BE SERVED OUTSIDE THE DINING HALL.

• ALL GROUP GATHERINGS WILL BE HELD IN OPEN AIR SPACES WHENEVER POSSIBLE. FOR THOSE INSTANCES WHEN WORSHIP SERVICES MUST OCCUR INDOORS, ONLY GUESTS AND STAFF FACILITATING WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND.

• WHEN INDOORS, VENTILATION SUCH AS EXHAUST FANS AND OPEN WINDOWS WILL BE UTILIZED.

Cohorts

• GUESTS WILL EAT ALL INDOOR MEALS GROUPED BY COHORT OR CABIN & WILL BE SERVED FAMILY STYLE. • GUESTS WILL ENGAGE IN ALL CAMP ACTIVITIES GROUPED BY THEIR COHORT.

• STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WILL BE GROUPED BY GENDER AND JOB, EATING, SLEEPING AND WORKING TOGETHER AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE.

Quarantine & Isolation

• ANYONE EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19 WILL IMMEDIATELY BE ISOLATED FROM THE CAMP COMMUNITY. ANYONE SHARING SLEEPING SPACE WITH THIS INDIVIDUAL WILL BE QUARANTINED.

• THE ON-SITE MEDICAL PRACTITIONER WILL DIAGNOSE IF SOMEONE IS SYMPTOMATIC OF COVID-19.

• AN INDIVIDUAL WITH CONFIRMED COVID-19, WILL REMAIN IN ISOLATION AND WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO RETURN TO THE CAMP COMMUNITY. ARRANGEMENTS WILL BE MADE FOR THE INDIVIDUAL TO TRAVEL HOME AS SOON AS FEASIBLE.

• STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WILL REMAIN IN ISOLATION UNTIL THEY RECEIVE A NEGATIVE MOLECULAR (PCR) TEST. • INDIVIDUALS SHARING SLEEPING SPACE WITH A SYMPTOMATIC PERSON WILL BE PLACED IN A “SUPERVISED WALKING

QUARANTINE.” THEY WILL BE ABLE TO MOVE ABOUT THE PROPERTY, BUT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO INTERACT WITH

INDIVIDUALS OUTSIDE OF THEIR COHORT, OR ENTER INDOOR SPACES WITH OTHERS PRESENT. THIS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL THE SYMPTOMATIC PERSON HAS RECEIVED A NEGATIVE MOLECULAR TEST.

Disinfecting

• ALL CAMPER SLEEPING AREAS WILL BE DISINFECTED USING ELECTRO-STATIC SPRAYERS AND SEALED AFTER CLEANING, PRIOR TO THEIR ARRIVAL.

• ALL SHARED INDOOR SPACES WILL BE CLEANED AND DISINFECTED, MULTIPLE TIMES PER DAY, USING ELECTRO-STATIC SPRAYERS WHEN POSSIBLE.

Meal Service

• INDOOR MEALS WILL BE SERVED FAMILY STYLE, COHORTS SHARING A TABLE AND SERVING UTENSILS.

• SERVERS WILL BE ASSIGNED 2-3 COHORTS TO SERVE AND WILL REMAIN WITH THOSE TABLES FOR THE WEEK. • WE WILL NOT REUSE ANY SERVING DISHES OR UTENSILS; ALL SECONDS WILL BE ON A FRESH PLATE/SERVING DISH.

• OUTDOOR MEALS WILL UTILIZE FOOD HANDLER PLATED SERVICE LINES WITH SYSTEMS BUILT IN TO ENSURE DISTANCE DURING SERVICE.
